Some of my happiest memories…we were so lucky to have been part of all of this. What a great life we had. Lovely to see so many lovely faces from my past too. Happy days
It's so great to see this again. I wrote and directed this film. It was produced by Dee Brady and shot on 16mm film by Terry Doe. The music is "Are you ready to fly" by Rozalla. The film was shot in London, the home scenes were filmed in Kew, and the down-route stuff in Barcelona. The film was (thankfully) a major success. I tried to make it real and true, and not patronising, so I spent a lot of time with cabin crew at the scripting/visualisation stage. BA was very much behind the approach, even though it was risky showing some things (from a corporate angle), BA trusted me to make it work. It went on to win awards, and was a very happy shoot - I think it shows. It would be good to hear from any crew that remember this.
I was cabin crew for BA World Wide fleet for 23 years. I remember BA sent this video through the post to all crew for moral purposes. At the time we received the video I believe Sir Colin Marshall was CEO preceded by Bob Ayling. These were my best flying years by far. I love the video it reflected the airline well in that era. Thanks for sharing it.
Hi @GloryFilmCo I was asked to be ‘assistant to director’! by BA along with Chris, I was based at LGW and Chris was LhR it was a brilliant time working with professional film crew, selecting crew members to take part and helping in Kew, I’m the guy brushing his teeth! Congratulations on such a great success 🙏😉
I flew British Airways frequently in the 80s to early 90s to London. A different era flying British Airways. It was a class act when you called reservations in those days and listened to flower duet. I loved being on hold until you arrived in London. Speed bird livery to fly to serve defined customer service British style. Fond memories of a great airline.
Watching this video again after so many years made me so nostalgic for those days when I flew as crew with BA. The great sense of humour so many crew had in those days is so evident in this video. Great memories !
Most of them smell of body odour, are overweight, and sullen. Sad. And the short-sleeved dress shirts on the uniforms for the men? No. Confirms Americans' stereotype that Europeans don't use deodorant. Yuck.
Suddenly came across this today ten years after retiring! This was undoubtedly BA's best time, everyone pulling together. I remember so many of those faces, so many good people to fly with, such a great job that unfortunately has been driven down by costs and a management determined to make greed the new God. I still love boarding a BA plane, crew are still crew, but BA has lost it I'm afraid. Great posting, well done, song will be in my head all day now.
hi E1320....a great little vid. brings back so many memories. my ex of 12 years worked for ba during this time . and i cant remember the amount of times i woke bleary eyed at 5am with the sight of the naked lady , with the face perfect and the hat on, and little else. as she looked in the mirror with a big smile . and practised those familiar words ... GOODMORNING . it will live with me forever..thank you
Great video, i'm saddened to ssy that i think they have lost sooo much ground now. Charging a seat reservation fee in business class, for a seat that's exactly the same as economy. Come on BA , some things need to change.
Those were the days after privatisation. First we had King, then we had Marshall, now we are just Ayling. Downdraft started with Ayling. Seeing the B757 reminded me of shuttle services from London to Manchester. It was also the time lady pilots started to break the glass ceiling and trickle through.
Great video..inspirational. I was shown this when I was a purser for Maersk Air, a BA franchise. We did a great job for BA..Like the crew in this video, we came in all shapes and sizes and came from many backgrounds, eg. graduate linguists, registered nurses and teachers. We loved our job and our passengers. We were well paid and loved BA and Maersk.Sadly,Maersk is no longer around.Wise up BA cabin crew,if you really do love your jobs.Perhaps you are not as special as you have been led to believe.
My first time flying ever was with BA,flying Shannon to Heathrow. Was quite scared about this as I knew I would have bad problems with my ears popping, earache, etc The BA stewardess was very pleasant and helpful! Would rather fly BA rather than Ryanair anyday ( and I am Irish!)
Having worn that uniform it looked great when you first put it on but after a long night flight it looked like you had slept in it!! They were the good old days of flying... happy memories :-)
Memories 😊🌹
The good old days of BA in the 90s.

No Asian carrier will show a corporate video especially the part on 'chicken or beef' :P

Another great British company sadly sold off to uncaring foreigners .
First we had King, then Marshall now we are just Ayling
It really takes me back to mid nineties long Aussies and days off to party. Great memories!

The artist is called Rozalla..or maybe Rozala...great song isn't it?
I still have the hat. I wonder what happened to Sheree and Mo
I love, I love, I loooooove
Love the shot at 2:53
Me too and the old uniform!
Same here!!!!
All seems so hollow now!
As a new member of British Airways Cabin Crew I love this video I can remember the stewards and stewardesses looking like that when I was a child!!
World wide Wendy’s
I like the hats did they really use a level on the brim or is that an over exaggeration for the purposes of this film?
!!!!!!
No tattoos, piercings or he she's then

Yes it’s a very young Ian.
Any ideas on the song title and artist?
It's cringe worthy trash!

Did this video have actual BA cabin crew participate in the video or are they all actors?
BrownBrother27 actual crew
Did they employ ethnically diverse people?
Great Airline, the Music is just awfull, but I like BA very much 💺✈
Thank you for putting it on TH-cam 🙏🇪🇺🇩🇪🇨🇭
The music is not awful!
@@yorkman1212yes it is. It's cringe worthy trash! You clearly like garbage!
They all must be hypoxic.....😂
@2010strike You make twice what VS crew make. Stop complaining.
Everything's a "laugh" in British culture, it does get a bit tiring...
No laughs when you're around, I imagine! #smile
@@ShipsKat time and place for everything.
