CLEVELAND - J. Delano Ellis, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Joint College of Bishops, presiding prelate of the Pentecostal Churches of Christ and senior pastor of the Pentecostal Church of Christ in Cleveland, died Saturday at the age of 75, according to his family.

That wasn’t a misquote that was an interpretation. He was correcting the often misquoted “try the spirit by the spirit” phrase. he was saying you try the spirit by the word of God.

@@jamesarmani6063 you trust it through obedience and see if it be of God meaning did He do just what He said He was going to do or not. That is how many people are deceived, when it comes to false prophets. Many people think a prophet of God can ever be wrong? If you are speaking for God all you say is what He tells you when He tells you. If you deviate from that and speak what you want or when you want you will be wrong and He will expose you.

Although I know and respect Bishop Carlton Pearson, I was a member of his church during the events of the movie Come Sunday and was mentored by Bishop Pearson. I do NOT agree with Bishop Pearson' view that you can receive eternal life with God, without accepting salvation through Jesus Christ.
I have never met Bishop Delano Ellis however 29:17 It WAS NOT a misquote. Bishop Ellis said "believe not every spirit but try the spirit whether they be of God". That is found in 1 John 4:1. Read your Bible.
That is what he said. After the scripture quote which is correct.
Bishop Ellis went on to explain and teach how do you try the spirit. Which he stated as a question. How do you try the spirit? He replied you "try the spirit by the word of God."
Which in my opinion is also accurate if you read 1 John 4:1-4 and you understand the text.

He threw the church of Christ away by his heretical proclamations and teachings if inclusivity. What Carleton Pearson was doing was calling the Bible a lie and said it was unreliable and was not the inspired Word of God. The Bible said the recourse for false teachers is to kick them out. I try to be open minded but when I hear testimonies of people dying and going to Hell and their experiences. Their encounter with Hell and Jesus are similar, it makes what Carlton say sound unbelievable. I think he is a nice person but I feel afraid for him.

That verse that popped up that they said that he quoted the text wrong verbally that is correct however that text is clear when it says “Believe not every spirit but try the spirits whether they are of God” he was actually paraphrasing the premise from John chapter 1:1 which you could clearly understand in 1 John 4:6.....when it says hereby we know the spirit of truth..... John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God so it is a referendum on trying the spirit by the word of God. Because you cannot know God without knowing the word of God or knowing the spirit of truth which is the word of God. This attempt to try to play on words to discredit what Bishop was saying is exactly why were in the condition that were in because people want to go on tandems that do not have foundational verification mechanisms.

The Joint College of Bishops gathers on a regular basis. Pearson was allowed to present at one of these meetings. It was not convened to accommodate him; getting 500 active bishops in one place at the same time just to listen to a presentation is not feasible logistically. This would be common knowledge for people in these circles.

Not true...we were already meeting...Carlton asked to come into the midst of us and state his case. Bishop Ellis and JCOB meets every year at the same time...Carlton knew this. Carlton Pearson was an excellent communicator and a very charismatic likable person, and he used those manipulations to his advantage is falsifying how these events played out. It's called CLEANING THE DAMNING EVIDENCE. I don't hate the man, but how he portrayed events in the movie were not consistent with the reality. If you want to see the reality...IT'S ALSO ON YOURTUBE SO THERE CAN BE NO DEBATE ABOUT HOW CARLTON lied and changed facts to clean and sanitize WHAT ACTUALLLY HAPPENED to his own advantage. If people are convinced that Carlton Pearson was not lying, nothing is going to change that. The actual video is available...watch it and see for yourself...HE LIED!!!

Here is what happens when you dont use the Bible as your compass/filter when as you increase in knowledge. The Bible is infallible and any history book or science book or any other piece of literature/doctrine that disagrees with scripture is false. Either you believe GOD's WORD is true or you dont! GOD have mercy. It starts with being all inclusive and now HE cant even believe whether or not the gospel is true. Look how deep the rabbit hole goes down when the enemy plants seeds in your mind. Believe on JESUS yall. Our minds cannot rationalize the infinite wisdom of GOD. Just believe on HIS WORD.

And he said unto them, Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Luk 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Luk 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. Luk 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. Luk 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. Luk 13:29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mat 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Mat 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. Mat 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; Mat 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; Mat 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. Mat 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; Mat 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Let no man despise thee.
1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 1Pe 4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 1Pe 4:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: 1Pe 4:5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
1Pe 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 1Pe 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 1Pe 4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?1Pe 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 1Pe 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Heb 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Luk 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved?
Mat 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.Tit 2:15¶These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority.
1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 1Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 1Th 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 1Th 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, Heb 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Heb 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:Heb 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. Heb 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Heb 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Hurt my heart to listen. Carlton was a big influence in my early babyhood. He was a source of encouragement. But seeing his decision to walk away from reality (I still do not understand why) hurts my heart. And I do hope he repented before his death.

If he's saying in this video that he didn't really know Ellis like that and try to down play him ...then why would he even go and defend himself and the revelation that God gave him....... especially to a group/Organization that he doesn't even know about much less as he said in this video a group of angry people/mob 🧐

Pearson is wrong in his beliefs according to Scripture but he clearly needs the strength of the Saints to stay before GOD in prayer for his soul as the devil has truly deceived him and is playing hard to get his soul.
    Galatians 6:1
"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”
Let us all pray for one another and continue to love each other as Christ has commanded.

That book speaking about all those other "saviors" has no primary sources...for sure bishop ellis had some missteps...but pearson is not now nor has he ever been the best voice to argue theologically for the idea of inclusion. Although it does have historical precedent going all the way back to the early church

Bishop Ellis was very inappropriate and not in the spirit of God! We can be bible illiterate and do harm in the Name Of God and still sound dumb… The word doesn’t mean written as well as The word Man. When God SPEAKS He always keeps HIS WORD! Who is Ellis to tell anyone what God didn’t speak to them?? Please. Let’s watch the videos of how they kicked Ellis out of the church multiple times from his inappropriateness and out of conduct in the house of God!

Are you serious...? Respectfully. He can say song with any other Bible believer. GID will not go against HIS OWN WORD. Scripture said "if an Angel or us come preaching any other gospel ought then what we have preached unto you, let him be a curse". They'd how he can say "GOD didn't speak to him".😅

The scriptures say it all: 2 Thess. 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
Gal. 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accurse.

All i have to say on this is Bishop Ellis was right I'm not offended that he called him a boy. For Pearson to come and speak on Ellis like that was immature and to be honest it shows his immaturity. Based on the movie he went off the rail after his uncle killed himself. I believe him not writing that letter he blamed himself for that and just went all for that inclusion mess. God's word is for sure that the only way is through Jesus. There's no question about that. Pearson is way off base it is that simple. I pray for him though that his eyes be opened

Ellis is the first to speak on Carlton. Carlton is responding to what Ellis said in his church. I don’t care what your opinion is of someone you don’t disrespect them by calling them a BOY! Pearson is well accomplished and deserves more respect than he was given. Pearson has helped many pastors and bishops across the world. If anything the pastors should have held him up in prayer. And to be honest, Pearson is too much of an intellectual for these back yard preachers. Unbelievable!!

@@earllightsey2980 many old men call those that are younger than them boy so that is what it is. Who's to say that they didn't hold him up in prayer. From what I gathered Ellis was upset about how he was portrayed in the movie. Maybe Carlton could have kept him out of it or better yet been honest about what happened because based on Ellis it was inaccurate.

TonTon Ruffin Ellis calling Carlton a boy was in a derogatory manner meant for disrespect. Furthermore, for someone who is supposed to be an expert on protocol, he should have known his statement to a public audience was out of order. Have you any idea how many children or young adults may have been in that audience? And this is what we teach them? And for the record, Carlton has well outlived the term BOY! So funny but, I didn’t know who Ellis was until this movie came out, yet, I’ve known of Carlton since I was in my teens. Yea...... Azuza conference!! Ellis got eight years on Carlton! Certainly not enough difference in age to be calling somebody a boy. Let someone eight years older than me call me a boy and see what happens!!!

@@prazup49 Judging before an appointed time, and testing is two separate matters. There is only One Judge, for obvious reasons. Testing veers more to an apologetic stance, done in meekness, due to susceptibility of error or falling from grace, to the tester or apologist. Immunity from error or missing the mark, then becomes everyone's challenge to sustain Truth contained in the unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ. Basics is grace through faith resulting in a salvation that is conditional based upon obedience. Yes, the Faith be contended for, by testing which is to be done in love. Bishop Lionel Harry those who are spiritual judges ALL things. The world is not to be judged for they are already condemned however we are to judge what goes on among the church. The twisting of “ judge not “ is one of the main reasons why the body is sick. It means make sure you are not judging by your standards but by the Word. Pray for discernment because this is a most deceptive day we are in.

@@wonderfilled6048 For sure, in disciplinary matters concerning doctrine or moral issues there is a measure of judgement to be applied, with the hope of the offender repenting and being restored. However, the world is watching how these issues are managed. My concern is that in these processes, we also ought not give the enemy a foothold, which could be ridiculously harmful to the Body of Christ.

Being judge mental is not a sin sir. And Ellis was not judging. He simply told his side and stated his stance as it pertains to Scripture. There are so many holes in Carlson’s belief. And it starts with his belief that the scriptures are not inerrant. He talks about casting out devils. Well we know from scripture that it is possible for a demon to put on the same show. Remember Jesus told them where his authority came from. The issue here is God does not condemn, God is the judge. Man makes that decision based on his own life. When Jesus said it is finished he was talking about his mission by tearing down the rudiments of the law of Mosses. Not a golden ticket to Heaven. That ideology goes against His own words. Also, Carlson cherry pics what he wants to believe.
