This is just my opinion, but I would choose another song as background music. It becomes a little stressful trying to pay attention to your voice with the guitar riffs in the background. What I like about your videos is that you're always chill, not uptight and never loud. In contrast, the background music is "loud" as in "in your face". I keep expecting someone to start trying to sell me an F-150. I'm sure you like the music, and I don't want to offend your musical taste. It just makes me feel like I'm at a Texas Roadhouse trying to have a quiet conversation with friends. The music you used to end the video is actually more suitable as background music. At least it's less stressful. Otherwise, it's a good review. I'm glad you tested it with iems, as that's all I have. I hope you keep making videos over the holidays. I'll be going on Christmas vacation soon, and it wouldn't feel like much of a vacation without your weekly videos.
Yeah, I was playing with audio levels and I think the background music was too loud… I actually randomly pick background music ha… I guess I should be more aware of the beats per minute and keep it under 100 lol unless needed ha! Thanks for the feedback! No offense taken!
Its always interesting to hear a review of something you own and you nailed it, the 604 and single ended 602 is even better when you roll the tubes with mullards and russian tubes, got them as they play well with planar headphones.
@@deadline7610 Doesn't run hot at all, gain is only a problem with easy to drive headphones, just turn your dac down or your windows volume down or use a pre amp so you can get the volume pot mid way, 😉
Were you very restricted in volume range? I am thinking about grabbing this and I have a BF2. As it is, my Windows volume is only at 30 out of 100. I would likely have to take it down to 10-15 with this unit. Or pull out the SMSL SU-8 from the office.
@@shaned7793 I keep my windows volume at 100, and control volume from the device… I recall having plenty of room with the Stellia… I would test it, but I already sent the device back to Apos

Excellent Review! I'm a rookie with Tube AMP's. Might give this a try with my Aeolus.

Good to know.
I was worried on the 602 about excessive gain at the beginning of the pot & a unit that runs very hot ?

Worked out great!! Hope to see more of them! Cheers
Love my 604 on my Sen’s 650 😋
Mine is on the way. I'm exited! Hope they pair well with my Senny 660's
Ps. Where is the purple headphone cable from? Looks great
It was a custom made cable by a buddy of mine! It’s similar to the periapt cables… but with different materials and finish.
That glitch at 1:46, i thought my pc was lagging lol.
Nice review btw!!
Transitions effect ha! Does look laggy/ghost like
Excellent review! How close is the MT-604 to the Bottlehead Crack or the Schiit Valhalla?
Different beasts… this is a hybrid where the crack is OTL… essentially the Crack is way more romantic and tube sounding
Nicely Done.
Enjoyed your music selection :)
Thank you! I was pleasantly surprised by this amp!
What do you think about matching with DT-880 600ohm headphone?
Probably would be fine? I can’t say for sure, as I don’t have a set.
Hot damn that Verite Open is gorgeous!
I’m so stoked I finally got it! I’m the third owner ha!
@@TylersEclectic the VC still your favorite overall?
@@asplmn yeah, but I do think the VO is the better recommendation overall for most people. The VC is still the best closed back I’ve heard ha!
Have you tried it with Aeolus?
Yeah, briefly! It was a very good pairing!
Is the unit sold at Apos black or grey in color? Looks grey to me?
Gunmetal color I think 🤔
Cool
💪💪💪
Have you tried any efficient headphones with it?
I really liked it with the Focal Stellia… outside of that, just my ZMFs

Is this little thing a hybrid or OTL?
Hybrid. They also make a 1 tube and 2 tube version without the weird double volume knobs.
Yup! Hybrid!
People who would buy that amp ($150), do not own the headphones you are using. So you are failing to provide appropriate advice for the target market.
