Your hair has always been GOALS!
wow thank you so much
Honestly sis!
Thank you! 😭❤️
I agree gorgeous luscious hair ❤️
Definitely hair goals
I learned from MoKnowsHair that we should either condition or deep condition. One or the other. Deep conditioners are best for type 3 and 4 hair. Regular conditioners better for type 1 and 2, although those hair type can also benefit from regular deep conditioning. Regular conditioners actually start to seal the hair making deep conditioners less effective. When I started only deep conditioning after shampooing I saw a big difference in my hair for the better. That’s probably why you don’t like regular conditioners 😆😁
For the longest time, my protein "deep conditioner" was a light protein conditioner. It's never failed me. I only started using a deep conditioner/mask for my protein because I wanted something more intense. I'm type 4 too. One size doesn't fit all. In fact, multiple sizes can fit one.
Kay Jay, good info, thanks for sharing!☺👍
Thank you I’m about to try this!!
I definitely think that depends on the person. I have type 3B and 3C hair and I pre-poo with oil but my hair is always too matted to detangle at that point unless I want to take a couple hours which I don’t. So I shampoo, and then use conditioner just to detangle, and then I still deep condition. And it’s done great for my hair. I find if I go straight from the shampoo to deep conditioner they nine times out of 10 don’t have enough slip for me to detangle.
I learnt this recently too. Making this switch was a game changer!
Genetics also play a huge part! I think most people forget that when they have these hair goals of other people.
Facts
Genetics will just determine the growth rate
It determines more than growth rate. Also hair texture which can effect manageability.
@@ChesnaHoward yeah but what I mean is that your genetics won’t keep your hair from growing. It might take more time or effort but that’s all
Agreed!
Keracare, redken, aphoghee, soultanicals, kinky curly, joico, as I am, and Camille rose stay on my hair shelf. EDIT: How could I forget olaplex?
Thanks for sharing this!!
which redken products do you like?
My fav natural hair influencer. Your hair routine is so simple and your hair grew so much over the years.
Oh thank you!
I haven’t used a regular conditioner in my hair in probably 15 years. I only use deep conditioners or masks lol
LOL yup I can't find one that I love
It’s soooo amazing!!!
Me neither....my hair loves the deep conditioner
Lmaooo
That bun is amazing. Please do a tutorial!!
wow thank you so much
Yes...please and thank you.
I HONESTLY CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT AUSSIE MOIST CONDITIONER💛
Oh yes!! That was an old fav! I have to try it out agajn
AND it’s affordable and works FAST. It’s perfect for my wash hour (to wash and style-idk how people spend hours on this)
Yass my favorite 🥰🤎
My hair could be MATTED and it just melts the tangles awayyy!
Yeesss I use this before I wash my hair as a detangler
Genetics help massively as well.
Say it again for the ones that will go out and buy all the same products a person with long hair uses thinking it will give them same results, leave your hair alone and it will grow.
I give up on it. I realized that genetically im fucked. I will just by the hair and install lol
Recognizing that my specific head of hair is different from hers and I'm merely months into growing my hair out, it's reassuring knowing I've got similar products and a routine that's identical to someone who's had such fabulous results. Genetics in mind, I hope my hair also reaches its maximum length. Definitely picked up some tips and gonna try some of those products!
Thanks for sharing!!
I've been watching your videos from when the name was journey to waist length because I was also on a journey to waist length since 2013. You've really inspired me sister, and now I've just started my hair channel. Thanks a lot!❤❤
Me too!
Thanks for sharing!! Im happy that I could inspire you! :)
@@ShaniqueBuntyn 🤗🤗
Thankyou,I wanted some tips for my daughters low porosity hair,I always add water to her conditioner like you said it does soak in the hair better,I didn't realise about the protein etheir gorgeous low porosity hair. Also you made me realise I need protein products because I have high porosity hair, very informative! & thankyou!x
Pre poo with oil/aloe/rice water (any combo depending on what my hair needs), wash 3 times, deep condition (ideally with heat), then style in a stretched state (mini twists, Marley twists, roller set)....trim when needed. Datsssss it. I’ll never do a twist out or wash n go again haha.
What’s wrong with twist outs or a wash n go 👀
@@Jess-ew3tm I’ve been trying to get them right for years and it just doesn’t work well in my hair.
@@Jess-ew3tm they require more manipulation to maintain for some people, so they're not worth it.
For example for some people it's low manipulation because they can go for like 10 days.
Me, I had to be washing and brushing and detangling every 2 days because the properties of my hair don't let these styles last (too fine), so I do other styles that work as low manipulation for me
If I had your hair density...its over for these bit**** LOL. #hairgoals

They will be back in stock next Friday
@@ShaniqueBuntyn Thank you! I bookmarked the site and set a reminder for myself. I currently use the non-metal scrunchies, but they aren’t silk/satin, so a bit of my hair does get stuck on it when I use them during wash day.
You look like a living doll ☺. I love your content 💕
Wow thank you!!
She does 😍
Every time I watch your videos your hair has me transfixed. Just gorgeous!!!
Ha ha thank you so much 😊
I absolutely love going straight to deep treatments from my shampoo. My pre poo is actually my pre detangle with a spray leave in detangler. It costs my strands, add moisture, and gives some luster before cleansing. Leave ins applied in the shower is bae. And a thick cream allow it to dry some and then apply my stylers and I’m good 🥰
Can we get a makeup tutorial of what you’re currently wearing please
Creme of nature has some of the best shampoos, I don’t really use conditioner either but I’m on the hunt for a great deep conditioner (currently using creme of nature pure honey hair mask).. Great video!!
Yes I agree! Thanks for watching !
As for me , hair grease, chest vapour rub and my diy oil , my Diy deep conditioner, and my soap bar to wash my hair, conditioner that’s all l use on my hair
Thanks for sharing this!!
I hate blow-drying my hair but it's the only way I can avoid single strand knots. I've tried stretching my hair without heat but it never works properly so I end up having to apply heat.
My hair is as long as urs and i still cant manage to put it in a bun like urs ): Can u make a tutorial ? (:♡
It’s likely you de tangling process. Thoroughly come through to the tots with the aloe plant in sections. Keep it braided during washing
hey ill definitely do a tutorial next time. I didn't realize I could do a bun. so I hope my video can help
You just got a new subscriber. I love the explanation. Thank you. Your hair is beautiful.
Good job. Continue teaching African women to embrace our afro hair...How to maintain it
Thank you, I will
Honestly I only use conditioner if I'm going to the beach cause it makes the hair a little easier to deal with cause I like my hair wild and free 😂😂
Lol I never thought about doing this
I'm. First 😀 Hi Shanique hope you are having a blessed day
Yes, you are! I am thank you! Hope you are too. Thanks for watching!
@@ShaniqueBuntyn you inspired me to start a channel. Been watching you for years. Wish you every success.
Nice! Congrats on the channel
@@ShaniqueBuntyn thank you very much
I can't go without Shae moisture black jamaican caster oil, Aussie moisture conditioner and 3 minute miracle, and the cantu leave-in. I will have to try the cream of nature shampoo. Thanks for sharing
Same here!!!
your hair is so beautiful 🤩. i definitely need a regimen but it’s so hard to stay consistent man 🥲
My favorite deep conditioner is mielle’s over night deep conditioner💙💙
Honestly this was one of the best informative videos. I’ve been wanted to go more natural decrease the blow drying and flat ironing. I will be getting a lot of these products. Thank you. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
The Give Me Slip conditioner from Curls Dynasty is good. Have you found that you don't like conditioners even when you use them with heat? Like you would with a deep conditioner?
I can’t live without Earthtones naturals 😍!!! Their shampoo, leave-in conditioner and deep conditioner 🥰
Well a conditioner can’t perform like a deep conditioner, they’re not supposed to 🤷🏽♀️
Yes I know that. But it should at least be moisturizing and it’s not at all for me.
@@ShaniqueBuntyn I understand, we have to use what works best for us not someone else. Like I can’t use aloe Vera, it makes my hair feel brittle instead of moisturized
Yes exactly.
I love love LOOOVVE that cream of Nature shampoo.. leaves your hair so soft but still cleanses🤎 and I’m grabbing me that curly wig, that’s sooo cute on you 😻
Yes you will love it
This is nothing but promos for these companies
I’m trying beat what your saying. But I cannot stop admiring that thick hair of your. Beautiful!😍
Thank you so much!
I have 4a in the back of my head with low density.
The crown is 4c and the rest is 4b with high density. Very weird
Awwwww I loveeee you're natural hairr
Hey Shanique, The Cantu coconut curling cream is my favorite too i have been using it for years no matter what else i try. SM jbco shampoo is my go to. being consistent is key for me and not doing the most. Now that i am more comfortable and have learned more about my hair over the years (set backs included) If my curls are good i am a happy camper.
I completely agree! Less is more
Wow $260 for headband wig!? I can get a full frontal lace wig with that much money .
Hey, yes I understand that wigs can be pricey, but I was able to get a code for my subscribers. If you use code SB30, you get 30% off!
Edit: I just checked again. It looks like they have a 45% off sale going on right now.
HAPPY HEALTHY THURSDAY LOVELY SHANIQUE🎉⭐💛 #JourneyToWaistLengthOG
heyyy! happy Thursday! hope you're enjoying your day
Great job and I love the content and editing on this video. Your hair is beautiful.
I can't live without my Cream of Nature shampoo too and I have relax hair. ORS Deep conditioners and leave in conditioner and a good hair oil.
Always wanted to try the Alovera plant on my hair I’ve heard so many great benefits! I have thick hair and I wanna find anything that locks in moisture!!
It's so good!
Hey beautiful!
Your hair is the bomb.
Tell me, do you have a video about how to take care of flat ironed hair?
Great products but it's Soo expensive in Ghana
Use what is affordable for you
I love your hair
I have BSL natural 4c hair, medium thickness. I want to get a trim and change up my hair regiment because my hair is not responding to the one I've been using. After washing your hair, do you blow dry, put in rollers, or just twist and air dry? I am trying to figure out how to keep my hair from drying out esp this summer since there's a heat wave. - Thanks
I keep my hair in twists because it works for me. Also great for detangling ease. If you’re worried about the twists looking cute you can always look up a parting pattern you like online
I have low porosity fine hair, so true stick to what your hair loves, that’s what I need to do! Conditioners, don’t do nothing to my hair either, I have to find what my hair likes, I need moisture and something that hydrates my hair, because my hair is always dry!❤️
Thanks for sharing!!
Danmmmmm that is what u can call GOOD HAIR.😱😍💯🎯
All healthy hair is good hair 😊
So I just glanced your very first video from 10 years ago. You look about 16😍. So much has happened in those 10 years. And my hair hasn’t grown a lick😞
Lol I believe I was 18 but yes a lot has changed
I can’t live without trader Joe nourish spa balancing shampoo and conditioner and Pantene daily moisture shampoo and conditioner. I love Kanchenjunga avocado deep conditioner.
Thanks for sharing!!
What about Shea moisture stuff I love their stuff for my natural hair. I use the castor oil shampoo and leave in conditioner and lo porosity deep condition they have.
That's the line of hair products I'm using.
Beautiful soul I can't just believe u replied to everyone's comments , Pls recommend a hair oil for my low porosity to grow longer and fuller , all those products u mentioned I can't find it in Egypt so I hope u recommend something else , because I tired alot after 3 days I get dandruff , I couldn't even wear braid's anymore ,
Thanks I would be expecting your response
Hey
Try onion juice … green beauty has a great recipe for this and a video explaining how to do it (pros, cons etc ) … it works… I did this for my mum and her dandruff reduced every week of use and now she doesn’t get the flaking anymore (it used to flake onto her clothes 2-3 days after a wash) . We use the boil method to make the juice (it helped me with hair thickness and reduced shedding ) .
I’m not her but you could try grapeseed, avocado, or olive oil
I' have tried the Maui but it breaks my face out
I traded in my olive oil eco for the eco gold. I prefer the gold for wash n go’s and styling, but it’s only so so for slicking down hair for buns and such. I just bought the wet line xtreme because I wanted to finally see what’s up lol.
Have you seen the new trend of naturals not putting oils in their hair? It supposed to allow our natural oils cover our strands.🤔
Hey I haven’t.. because our hair is so tightly coiled and dense, I don’t see how the sebum would may it down the length of our hair. 🤷🏽♀️
i've seen tons of videos popping up about that technique and I'd say to take that with a grain of salt
like Shanique said the hair is just too tightly coiled and our natural sebum would take a while--like we're talking at least a month--to get down the lengths of our hair, and that's if you have like short shoulder-length hair.
so don't be afraid to use oils, just don't be too heavy handed unless your hair needs it
Even still.. I had my hair straight for 2 months and my hair didn’t get oily. That’s why it lasted so long.
👄GREAT Tips THANK YOU👌🌻🌷🌺🦋
You are so welcome!
I have very fine hair so I think the hibiscus fusion would be best for me. I’ve even tried doing natural oils but they seem to only sit on top of my hair and not soak into my hair. Trying to find what oils would work best for my hair type. I love all of the recommendations that you’ve provided. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
4c n the middle, 4a on the sides of my ears and 4b in the back lmfaoo. I have no clue why but sometimes I wish my hair was 4b/or even 4 c alll overrr. I can zoom through the back and front of my hair but my crown? I have to take my time and baby it. lmao. Now i do the crown first and save the easiest sections for last bc there was many times I did the front or back and gave up when it came to the crown 😭
Loved the tips! I’ll certainly be using them ☺️ Love from London ✨
thank you so much
Hi, please how do I know if the shampoo isn't harsh for me? Also, the conditioner and hair products are good and don't sir on my hair ?
Your videos put me onto the Cantu Coconut Curling Cream and I LOVE it!
yay im so happy you like it!
I'm 3rd today!!😎😎
Yes yes!! Thanks for tuning in
@@ShaniqueBuntyn you're welcome 😍😍
I too have low porosity hair and I have tried many different products, but my hair LOVES the Cantu Coconut Curling Creme. It leaves my hair so moisturized and soft.
Thanks for sharing!!
It always flakes mine
You’re definitely my hair twinnnn!!
Hello Shanique would you mind leaving the names of these products or links so i can chek it out?
Check out the description box
Hey Shanique, I’ve been using the aloe vera pre-poo and applying it just like you have, but I’ve stopped recently because I noticed TONS of little white flakes left in my hair after each use that are RIDICULOUSLY annoying to get out (washed and conditioned TWICE and still couldnt get them out. Had to thoroughly brush out each section.) Have you ever had this issue? And if so, what do you do to remedy it?
I’ve heard a few other subscribers say the same thing. I personally haven’t experience it. Did you blend your aloe?
@@ShaniqueBuntyn I didn’t, but i’ll try that and see if it helps. Thanku!
A few people have said that worked better blending and straining or just using Aloe Vera Juice.
Do a review on our hair growth oil. Dm me for your contact info.
Very nice review ❤ you are looking great Shanique, that lipstick looks good on you too ❤❤❤
Thank you so much
You are welcome dearest
Have you ever tries the As I Am double butter?
I have bug it was a long time ago
My fav hair product hands down is Cantu leave in condish -- that conditioner is bae 😍
Cantu works for me too
Thank you for sharing this information ♥️.. it really helps.. but i have one question, do you steam your hair?? and how often?
I do sometimes. Maybe 3-5 times a year. I only do it when my hair is feeling really dry
Great video! Thanks for sharing love, I have been following you for a while now and your hair has truly grown so long! Hair goals 💕
Thank you so much!!
Aloe vera is a game changer for sure. Love soultanicals deep conditioners and butta shampoos - my staple products. Your hair is beautiful.
Thanks for sharing!!
And you keep it simple 👏👏
Yes I definitely try to
“My hair routine is fairly simple…”
hoping its code for boujie 👀
Hey do you have a meet up spot to pick up orders or is it strictly shipping
Hey, sorry 😞 we currently only offer shipping.
I use the same shampoo with the Leave in. I did a perm bc my natural hair was falling out, I now know it was growing faster and I could not cut it or maintain it. It still grows faster with the perm. I just put it in real quick and rinse out. I have cut it and now it is growing. I will be going back natural
Great video 🤗! I just posted my first hair video how I grew my hair to waist length and I LOVE seeing what works for others😊! Thank you so much for sharing your routine❤️! Liked and subscribed 💕!
You are BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for all the tips!
Thank you!
Same here with my relaxed low porosity hair deep conditioner that what work for me.I used that Maui conditioner too.
It's so good!
Thank you such a great educational video. Your hair is so beautiful and healthy!! Thanks for educating us great tips!! I definitely want to check out your products. 🙂😊🙌🏽👍🏾
For your twist out how many twist do you put in??
Sorry I’m not sure.. maybe 20 🤷🏽♀️
First soo beautiful ☺️ love you 😘
Thank you for always supporting!
4C hair is more challenging to retain length
*Olive oil has been a beauty staple for centuries, and it’s no wonder why!*
With all the _benefits_ of providing your hair with hydration from _its natural oils_ as well as helping to combat dandruff while strengthening strands that are prone to breakage or dryness thanks to heat styling.
The ancient remedy is making waves in the modern day again because we've realized how much healthier our tresses can be when they're protected by something like olive oil.
Yooooo wait a min where did you get that rubber brush thing!!!! I need that!!! Help me what’s it called!!!!!!
Detangler brush is in the description box
That’s my shampoo !!! I love it. I use the deep conditioner also from creme of nature.
It's so good!
What are type A,B and C hair
I am trying to transition to natural hair and I tried the water product test and my hair was just floating on top of the water so I guess I have low porosity .girl cream of nature reveals my hair so soft and easy to glide through so far I tried many conditioner and nothings works for me .I think I should try deep conditioner also and skip the conditioner part
Thanks for sharing!! yES PLEASE TRY IT OUT
Thank you for sharing I use that Cantu my hair loves it and I love the aloe Vera ❤️❤️.
You are so welcome
Hey Shanique, have you tried Joico Kpak products? The intense hydrator and reconstructor are amazing! My daughter has waist length hair and this has been a game changer.
The products you showed in this video, would it work for a 3C?
My question too.
All hair types
Here’s a tip, research fast hair growth shampoo to double hair growth.
I always thought that conditioners and leave in conditions were the same thing😂. I deep condition with normal conditioner and I never knew you had to seal your hair with some type of oil that will help so much because my hair gets so dry the next day 😭. Nice video 👍
Any news on when the 4oz oil bottle will be in stock again? I only see the 2 Oz available online and I really want to try it 🤔
2oz is our new size.
Have you tried the herbal essences maximum hydration conditioner? I think that’s what it’s called.. it’s the blue one but, it works well and I have some type 4 hair and struggled to find a conditioner that works well with my hair But this one works magic!
I haven’t used it on my natural hair. But it was a favourite on my relaxed hair
Lco confuses me. Liquid? Cream? Conditioner?
Liquid cream oil
