Also from what I've seen the poison does some INSANE damage, and the sedative quills don't deal any damage when hitting the target so Yi's now our new KO king tame.

Or perhaps it can directly harvest some of Ab's plants to gain the feather types. Or maybe it's just Ark adding things to the dossier's that don't actually mean anything in the game lol.

@@Bonedragon1300 yeah, that was one of the main thoughts I had. I think wildcard forgets that people with poor connections and servers with a lot of lag would make this impossible. I experienced it on ASE with voidwyrms. On official servers I couldn’t tame them, but had no problem in single player. Ah the joys of high ping.
Awesome job! Loved it and will be using this method. Btw.. you can get biotoxin early game from harvesting the psychodelic mushrooms.. just eat a bunch of aggeravic mushrooms first and keep a bunch in your hot bar so you dont poop yourself to death.
@@arrank07 I don’t think they will. It’s not really exploiting anything. And it can still move freely. Just gives you more reaction time and lets you take less damage.

@@Jaycredit nope. I’ve actually dumbed down my graphics a bunch. This is mostly high with a 60 fps cap. But I’m running a 4080 graphics card and I record in 1440p.

I will assume that this will work, The traditional non-trap method requires you to have near perfect reflexes. There are times when I see it do its "upward getting ready to dive animation" and I still somehow miss when its diving at me. And I play on singleplayer. Hopefully this brings the reflex requirement to a average level. Update: I used Randi's Animal Traps. Small Wooden Cage or Small Metal Cage. The idea of trapping yourself rather than the creature is in fact much easier. Thank you for the idea.
Yeah, when I was first trying it the non trap way I was like there is no way this is okay. Anyone with lag or poor ping will find it nearly impossible to tame. So I tested a bunch and finally realized you can kind of slow it down and give yourself more time to react by using the trap. Best of luck taming 🙂

This creature is honestly so dumb when it’s wild, it can fly around and glide and fire quills at you like it’s nothing but once you tame it firing the quills at anything accurately is almost impossible, and you especially can’t do anything like the wild one does to another person, on top of that with the near constant flying when it’s wild nothing can actually kill it and it agros on everything so it is a massive detriment to all of the surrounding creatures wherever one of these things spawn because it will just constantly attack everything and literally nothing except another player can kill it, they really need to modify these things AI and make it actually land on occasion and make it glide times way shorter at the very least or alternatively, it doesn’t actually attack anything other than players, making it attack wild dinos just ruins everything around wherever they spawn
Yi ling dont wanna do the dive animation he just keep shooting at me in the trap. I also was waiting to get quilled ( about 30 quill buff like u said )and nothing
@@mannygw-.-7653 so if he lands it helps to go out of the trap to get him up in the air. He needs to be a decent height to do the dive. That sounds like the issue I had testing the smaller trap. It helps to move around in the trap so he can lock onto you. If you aren’t “seeable” it can’t lock on and dive at you.
After a very long search, I tamed a level 140 Yi Ling and after another long search, I found a level 145 one but it doesn't dive at me even though its feather count is around 80-90. Also, the previous time, as soon as it passed 30, it would dive at me and I could stun it. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
@@muhammetylmaz7241 make sure there’s not anything it’s getting stuck on like trees, rocks, walls. Also make sure it can see you. From what I can tell the dive animation is visual, ie the AI needs to be able to see you to trigger. Standing behind the walls seems to make it hard for it to see you sometimes.
@@the0god968 it has to fly and do the dive animation, get stunned, and then fed. As of now, nothing else works. The key is not to get it into the trap but for you to be in the trap 🤣
@@Serrboys nope. Because technically you haven’t started taming it. I checked when I was testing on stream and that’s a negative which is why I had to use the magnifying glass. I def wish they’d make a change, at least for this creature so you can see it.
I have tried and tried. It comes in, I throw the fruit, it dings, and when I get close, it bites me. It doesn't seem to want to dive, it latches on a rock and goes turret mode on me.
Also you can only stun it when it dives. Just because it runs at you doesn’t mean you can stun it. It sounds like you’ve missed a step somewhere along the way.
@@jch00lig4n yeah. It helps to clear out the trees and rocks. I’ve had a few get stuck on medium sized rocks. But if you clear everything it should work without any issues 🙂
@@toast3515 you could but the trap gives you more reaction time to throw the Z. One of the main issues I encountered was just not timing it well. With the trap it actually gives you at least an extra few seconds to respond and throw.
@@coldseraphim I don’t think this could be considered an exploit so I would be shocked if they patched it. It’s not impacting the taming process, just protecting the tamer and making it easier to react. They def didn’t consider lag/ping when they made this taming process.

@@basskatz3961 you can feed it the biotoxin. The commands on the right allow you to choose which feather to use. I mention it in the video but I don’t remember exactly which command it is. Also this is for pc so if you’re on console it will be different.
not me spawning and force taming two of these on my island file and breeding a super yi ling as my token creature for my entire run through all of the arks.
@@Wallis184 it’s gotta still be able to see you so you can’t just hide behind the walls. The ai is visually active. You also need to clear the stuff nearby, trees, rocks, etc or they’ll land and run up.

Tried this method with a low level and its so much easier. You are right on the timing. Used a 2x2 stone trap and I have my first tame.

Early game tip, you can get biotoxin easily by harvesting the red hallucination shrooms with dire bears

You can shoot quills as well when you are latched to a wall. It helps especially when you are using the tranq quills. It allows you to have better aim

So I haven’t played ark recently but I’m thinking what if you have a friend nearby with an equss and rope waiting to grab and drag it into the trap 🤔

I put a roof and half roof about half way up it's keeps it stuck in dive longer 🙃
@@grawbergeroutdoors2540 I had some rooves in my original build, but it would sometimes get stuck up high and I couldn’t reach it to feed narcotic.
Try mushroom brew maybe it will do something.
