All of them are very beautiful and functional boats...my only complaint is that other than the new N148, is that the hull isn't steel. To me, for something that's going to be operating in northern or very southern latitudes, this is a must.
I understood it as the Nordhaven yachts are heavily depending on their stabilization systems then the seas gets a bit grumpy. Not nice then they stop working 🤕
Nordhavns are amazing boats.. the only issue is a bit too slow maybe I don’t know I’m not an expert! Sometimes the best thing to do is outrunning bad weather. And regarding the 120 she is a beauty 😍 The only thing I’d change is the pilot house on top... i don’t think it’s necessary
8 to 12 knots is about average for a boat of her size and class. With lower speeds you get a much better range as well which is vital for long-range cruising 🛳
Full displacement hulls have limited speed due to the properties of hydrodynamics. The maximum speed of a full displacement hull in Knots per hour can be derived using the formula 1.34 times the square root of waterline length measured in feet. To go faster than that, you need a semi displacement hull or a planing hull. These are the boats you see partially raised out of the water and sort of skipping along the surface. They burn fuel like an F14 and typically have a very short range.

Since the day it was conceived when it was put in passage major magazine the day it took its first voyage getting all the bugs worked out of it to the time it took it 6 days Cruise all the way to the United States it is a very beautiful boat very much filled with lustrous and accommodations the engine room is a beautiful sight to see you didn't hear this from me I've admired this boat for a very very long time the only issue I had with it was the color
If one only had the where-with-all! My favorite has always been the old 62, with a proper trawler look. As a Scandinavian, I wish people would learn to pronounce Nordhavn correctly - it is not Nord--haven, it is Nordhaun. Just a note.
Wow, they're still trying to flog this boat? What's the price now? Lat I saw they were asking something like thirteen or fourteen million. It has a sad and sorry history, as other have mentioned, and had all sorts of major issues that needed to be corrected, as well as a nasty law suit that's a story in its own right. I think anyone with the kind of money to spend on a yacht like this would have done their due diligence and be wary of it, not least for resale value. Plus the duplication of controls on the upper deck is very redundant. It's a shame that this boat has such a checkered past, given the fine reputation Nordhavn's have overall, as well as a diehard fan base.
