Marty, I’m brand new, learning from you I’m able to play “Wish you were here”. I recorded it and sent it too my family while we are home bound and they were shocked! My youngest son said I didn’t know you knew how to play guitar, how long ago did you learn how to play? Thank you Marty, you’ve change my life, love you man.
Ive been playing on and off for 14 years but never would stick with it. I'll play for a few months then sit it down for 6 months. Theres been times where i wouldnt touch it for a year or so but Wish you were here has stuck with me through it all though. That was the most difficult thing I ever learned until lately. I've made a lot of progress over the last couple months.
Been a subscriber for about 2 yes now. Never played in my life. Feel like I stole something from you. Literally know how to play because of you turned my uncle on to you who has learned a lot never playing. Highly recommend this dude if you're trying to learn guitar. Thank you sir truly.😌
Hey Marty! :D I've been watching you for around 7-8 months now and have gone from knowing nothing to knowing 4 songs and working in the process of learning another 3. And it's all thanks to you! I would really appreciate it a lot if you would make a video on how to play "My Hero" by the Foo Fighters. You the man Marty! Thank you and stay awesome!
I dreamed with this song last night, the Metallica version (I love metallica since a teenage love, Tiago, who died years ago - my first, platonic and eternal love). In my dream I was looking for the videoclip, because I wanted to show to my sister and friends (I love that video). This song always find me in the most difficult times, and it makes me stronger, even in sadness. It will be the first song I’ll learn to play. Thank you so much, Marty, for teach us. Music (specially Turn the page) always saves my life. Thank you and a happy and healthy new year!
Marty, I'm really diggin' your mix of acoustic and electric stuff. A well-rounded player plays both (o.e. Page, Clapton, Gilmour, etc.). I also think it can be pretty creative to convert an great electric guitar tune to a full sounding tune on acoustic. Thanks for the lessons. Even the small things I've learned from you have made a big impact on my playing and I've been playing in bands for over 20 years. You have no idea how much you are making a difference to so many people, both players and listeners. Thank you, Sir.
+James Henry thanks for the support, I'll be back better than every in 2016! In the meantime, please keep in touch with me at my official Facebook page here: facebook.com/MartySchwartzofficial/?ref=hl
Hay Marty. Thank for all the video lessons. This is one AWESOME SONG. You have thought me so much. Never went to an guitar teacher and everyone that listens to my guitar songs (which I've learned from your videos) think I'm a pro. Just want to say thanks and keep up the good work. Ashwill from South africa
Marty I love your teaching style. I just started learning guitar and found your lessons fantastic. I especially like how you broke the cords down with the lyrics. It really helped me with my timing and beats making the song sound more authentic when I was practicing. Thank you so much!
Your Jack Black impression is spot on! Thanks again for this great tutorial. Has always been one of my favorite late night songs and now you've made it easy to play!
I'm always bummed out if I don't find Marty, I trust him, his lessons on here are so much more up and personal, it feels like he's only giving me the lessons, his personality works for me, he seems like a friend and very approachable
Great lesson, especially for someone Like me. Trying to play all guitar parts at the same time, and sing. Well….don’t all guitar players like to be a solo act.?. Think bonfire, and they want you to play. Time for the open mike night show. This lesson is perfect for that.
Nice. I like Bob Seger's music. Looking forward to your return. I've been practicing, so I'm ready for more guitar lessons from the best guitar teacher out there! : )
man that is great , I'm learning a lot , think you so much . I've been doing this for three weeks & it's really coming together , it actually starting to sound good now, thinks .
The simplistic picking pattern in this song is important because it goes with the lyrics. The song is about the band going from town to town on the road on a tour bus and its droning engine. The picking always sounded to me like the pulse of the highway pavement seams pulsing under the rolling wheels. Great song among many of Segers best.
+martyzsongs Hi Marty, I flatter myself that I am a bit above beginner (in terms of experience if not talent, lol) and I thought you singing the chords out was a really good way of transferring the progression. Never played this before and had it nailed in 15 mins. and I am not a quick learner by any stretch of the imagination. (My wife is happy to provide evidence to that statement !). Thanks for a great lesson. Gareth
Again thanks for a very helpful tutorial on a great song. I like both of the current versions of the song, Bob Seger's as well as Metallica's interpretation. Wouldn't it be a great round up to add a lesson on Metallica's distorted sound version, Marty?
You're a really great guitar player and if it isn't too much to ask, can you teach Buried alive by Avenged Sevenfold that would be amazing :) Thank you
Hey Marty. Hello from FRIGID Michigan. It's 6° here!! :-( . This song just warms me up. Could you do Michelle by the Beatles for us. ? Your da man! Jackie
Hey any chance you could do the Metalica cover of turn the page guitar? Super great song and would love to learn. Thanks for your lessons, they have helped so much
Marty I love your teaching style....Until you get to the strum pattern -- your voice fluctuates to the point I am confused is it DDDU or DDDDU -- if it is 4:4 it should be the later but I have listened a bunch
