We all looked surprised when keeper changed round . Came back with a few Stoke fans from the Sheffield game and they wished us well for rest of the season . We need to get our mojo back but I have faith we will .
We started well as you say Powell came off and that didn’t help tho we were poor for the last 10-15 mins of the first half too. No tempo, lack of communication, loss of concentration you can add so much more to the problems on the pitch yesterday but as you say great support once again from the fans and that’ll be vital on Tuesday night. Big call on the keeper be interesting to see what Chally does on Tuesday now. I just hope we can find ourselves again because we look lost at the moment.
I’d imagine that’s more the job of Simon Wilson, it’s not even necessarily the results, the way we’re playing it’s hard to see how we’ll win games and that’s the biggest concern.
@johnhigginbotham8291 I'd be more inclined to haul Nick Colgon in, the head of Goalkeeping. If it was his sole recommendation to axe Hinchliffe and spend £50k on Addai I'd be seriously doubting that decision.
Had a chat with a friend of mine, who happens to be a professional goalkeeper and has played with Corey Addai. He mentioned at the start of the season he can make some very schoolboy errors but is overall a superb keeper. I asked him what he thought of him being subbed at half-time as it's practically unheard of. He thinks Addai *might* have reacted badly to the team talk at half time and this has lead to him being subbed, or it's just a normal tactical sub as with any other player. He says we shouldn't read anything into it though and we shouldn't expect Addai to be out for too long. Still, it was bloody nice to have Hinch back in the sticks.
@@Phendrena Corey is still improving and has made some very good saves. Credit where it's due but he needs to be more aware of where he is kicking to. He also needs to be quicker in possession to release the ball. Too much time thus pushed into errors. That aside a good player still learning 👍
We have only lost 2 this season. We knew realistically that promotion again was not likely. Having taken into account the Lincoln game I feel we are going overboard about things. That's not to say yesterday wasn't terrine. It was. But I look at the teams below us especially in the bottom 4 places and again I say anything above 16th place is a decent season. Dave is a good manager. It's true some players are not in good form but we have only played 12 games. Any team would be happy with only 2 defeats at this point. See what changes happen on Tuesday. I expect Mellon to start and give 45 mins.

You mention it as a goalkeeping crisis- IMO one of the clubs own making when the goalkeeper position was the last area of the squad that needed addressing. 50K spent on a keeper that's a DOWNGRADE on Hinchliffe! A mess of the clubs own doing- a new way of playing out from the back? Is that our keeper gift wrapping and giving goals away? As you have questioned yourself Wootton simply isn't clinical enough enough for league 1, a Conference or league 2 striker at best, why wasn't Mellon put on as. Sub striker? Questions in other areas of the squad, two loans in from Premier league clubs, Everton and Palace yet can't even get into the matchday squad. Powell off injured with a Hamstring injury to join Collar and Camps with - ill stand corrected if wrong.. ..Hamstring injuries....Mingi I assume missing again through another injury
@@Nick_1072 I’ll defend Addai a bit here as I think he’s an easy scapegoat for some, the criticism comes from his giving the ball away and rightly so, however where the ball ends up is still far enough way for the defence to do their job and also if he’s been brought in to play it short then it’s on the other players to provide options for him. Wootton can add goals but I wouldn’t have him as a guy you depend on and that’s the problem, where’s the striker we can trust to take the ball and either score or make something happen? No Madden replacement. Onyango & Adaramola just don’t see him at the level, I suspect they’ll end up a bit like Rhys Bennett and Ben Knight in never really getting any game time. I think Mellon might’ve come on late on but games gone at that point, we never looked like scoring and as frustrating as it was to witness Lincoln closed the game really well on their part. Injuries continue to haunt us, I’m interested for Tuesday night’s selection now, I honestly think if we could have a midfield of Bate, Camps and Collar we’d be ok especially with a proper right back but of course they’re injured.
@thefootballrundown I understand your Addai point yesterday, my concerns are more about his al round game, goals conceded at Mansfield and Leyton Orient he's gone down in instalments and for a 6'7 guy he's not even commanding in the air and also doesn't seem to organise his defence or talk much to them like the Northampton equaliser last Tuesday night, no communication with the defence. I've agreed with your view on the channel all season about Wootton, he Is a willing trier and gives his all but his simply not clinical, he'd do a job at league 2 and conference level but thats his level in the pecking order of strikers at the club I'd have Wootton as behind Barry, Olafoe, Mellon and Stretton. Another player that question marks are rising are Bailey, since he signed permanently he's been frankly poor, he reminds me a bit of Jessie Lingard - plays the same sort of role and when he was on loan from Salford he looked like Lingard at United or England, as soon as he landed full time County contract has looked like Lingard at Forest, lazy and going through the motions until binned off.

Wootton just isn’t at it but none of our striker have torn it up this season bar Barry, what we’re missing is something we need to go and buy we won’t find it in our squad. As for Bailey I can kinda see that link, he impressed against Wigan off the bench but that was a month ago nearly now. I don’t think we’ve got bad players by any means I actually think the squad has a lot of potential, we just haven’t found the right combinations together to form a backbone which was ripped apart in the summer. Looks like Powell will be out, I'd have Barry plying as a number 10 behind a front two of Tamto and Mellon. Stretton apparently recalled from Oldham because he hasn't been playing and supposedly going out on loan somewhere else- scap that and have him on the bench, the team isn't scoring more than one goal a game, Stretton is a scorer even if lacking game time.
The overall performances for the last few games has not been acceptable and we are sliding gown the table now. Two awful goals. We are gifting games and things need to change

Only positive is we’re still in top half just about and if we can somehow get a couple of wins we’re back near the top again.
I thought Barry looked sharp could’ve had a few penalties too. Tanto got his goal from a lovely Powell assist. A lot of people will blame Addai but he just feels like a scapegoat for some, Connolly wasn’t brilliant, Norwood came on and struggled.

If I was Mark Stott, I'd now be calling Challinor and Hill in on Monday morning to ask what was going on.

Touray, Bailey both need to be dropped and moved on. They are not good enough.
