Had a day in Dublin yesterday and smashed a few pints. I went out to Gravediggers and has to be the best Guinness I have ever had. Had 3 more just in case. Also hit Bowes, Mulligans and Briody’s. Great pints and would rank in that order.
5:22 can’t believe I’ve just found your channel. Love the way you describe a good pint and how it’s more than just taste. Shtick is definitely important for aesthetics haha. Cheers pal.
Great channel. Love your reviews. I always go for a Guinness here in London. Thanks for doing the London reviews. Will check out the pubs you featured. Cheers.
O'Sheas on the corner of Lower Gardiner Street always does the most beautiful pint of Guinness time and time again. Like I've been to this place about 4 times over a period of 15 years from 1993 to 2008 and no matter how many pints I had in one visit they were all as lovely as the first pint and it's been the same case for the 15 years I visited Dublin - like it was even the same barman !!!
I am a guiness fan and also a 1st generation Irish /Welsh man by both parents. I have been to the gravedigger ,but in Wexford; but the best pint of guiness I ever had was in the "Seans bar" in Athlone where my paternal grandparents originated in the 1920's.
Bowes is a belter of a spot alright, and glad you mentioned mulligans as pints of plain there are always beautiful. My own recommendation would be Fallons just off Patrick St opposite Patrick's cathedral.
Great video! We enjoyed Foxy John's last month as well - good call! You missed two: Dick Mack's in Dingle and The Malt in Dublin. During our 10 days in Ireland, we drank a SHITLOAD of Guinness pints, and The Malt won the prize for best. :)
The perfect Guinness-drinking jumper. This man is truly the Guru. And don't worry about big gulps. I've seen oulfellas swallow the glass on the first gulp.
I recently went to Dublin for a holiday and couldn't wait to see what all the hype was about after hearing everyone say it's so much better over there.... And they were right!! I couldn't believe it... Good pint after good pint... Creamy, thick and tastier than England .. I didn't have one mediocre pint there
UK Guinness is brewed locally. Don't blame me, blame Diageo. They look upon punters like you and me as cattle and nothing more. It's all about the £ £ £ £.
As a man with family descended from phibsborough/glasnevin for over 200 years, and a proud local. I am keen to wonder if these reviews have impacted JK's positively or negatively in terms of clientele and the overall direction of the business. I know the bram stoker buses and summers are chock full of tourists on the green outside, but I am curious to know if this has increased general trade at all? By the way, your 100% right in the scoring and decision. No small wonder its just off the ashbourne road too hey? haha
Great video as always mate… was wondering what happened to Culzy.. the banter between you both was always awesome hopefully he will be back at some point 👍👍🍺🍺
Love the videos man. Look forward to one day getting to Ireland to learn about my Irish heritage and then drinking so many pints at Bowes that I forget it.. Cheers lads.
Greetings from Krakow, Poland! Man i need to get to the Ireland one day 🫡 - what's the Irish tune in the background when Guru is at the 'gravediggers' ?☘️
Love Ireland, we were treated so well by the locals, we were on a stag doo... a mate of mine decided to get married at age 33 FFS, we went there in full highland dress, you can imagine the welcome. Great Video, and we all love Guinness.
I've been there again since. Was working in Grand Canal dock and catching a bus back to Drogheda so had 1 in Mulligans, then Bowes, then the Palace. Bowes was another level.
Great highlight video! I went to Bowes with my Da as I said in a previous comment. It was an unbelievable pint for sure, but still my best to this day was Fred Zeppelins in Cork. You're not gonna like the story, but the bar man poured this absolute whopper in a glass, then looked at me and asked; "are you going upstairs?". He dreaded my response, which was a yes, then he swore, and tipped it into a plastic cup.. It took about 8 minutes to tip into the cup. Not really, but it felt like it. It was absolutely thick as a spaniel, and just as exciting. Even in the plastic cup, best Guinness I've ever had! Can't wait to try the Grave Diggers some day!
Anyone who knows, if a bar man pours a GOOD pint of Guinness into a glass then asks if your going upstairs and swears because its going in a plastic cup, You drink that shit out the glass in front of him. Never would I accept a Guinness in a plastic cup. This sup is nectar from the gods and as such treat it with respect..
bowes no doubt is the best pint I've ever had. I've been to bowes a few times and never disappoints. Gravediggers 2nd best pint. When I went to gravediggers my friend and I said we would go for one and head back into town. We stayed and had 5 pints each. was just to good.
I was in Dublin last month, not having seen these reviews, and purely on friends’ recommendations I managed to take in Mulligan’s, Bowe’s and, yes, John Kavanagh’s. From the island next door, so my standards probably start lower than yours, but fwiw, I’d quarrel with nothing you say here. The month before I was in Prague, drinking the best that city has to offer (which is pretty bloody good as everyone knows), but I swear I had nothing better, even in that city, than those three Dub pints.
Hi phil.from dublin myself..heard bowes is a great pint??.as good as they say.we have so many great pubs in dublin we take them for granted allright lol..
Late comment, but would actually think it would be a bit of fun to have an app like the One Bite app where people review pints of Guinness at different bars/pubs. Would be nice to see where the good G is at in your area
You need to try The Hut in phibsboro. Not far off the diggers. Better than 95% of the other more famous pubs in Dublin. Also Toners, best pint on baggot St.
Great video, been to a lot of pubs in Dublin, with exception to the Gravediggers. I'll get there next time. I took your advice a few months ago and hit Bowes.Holy shit, what a pint,or 6 pints. The best I've had ever#BOWES. Gravediggers next month.
Top vlogs for the avid Guinness drinker, bit anorakish but you should make a list/database on your website of best pubs to get a Guinness in the various locations you’ve visited, there are some very average pints in England be good to look up a pub that you’ve had a jar in and rated when travelling around the UK and Ireland. You may even be able to wangle some sort of commission of the pubs if we use a Guru code🤣🤣 Sláinte
Live in America. Sadly I work in a Bar where we have no morals, a pint of beer is $14. They don't train us as actual bartenders. Everything I've learned I've had to learn from the Internet and books. Our Guinness is a 24oz can (A Pint) and it costs $11.29. (( About 9 quid I thinks))
Ah here, get Colzy back for one video. Be good craic to have a pint with him and we can hear what he has been up to.
Colzy is a waster.
Had a day in Dublin yesterday and smashed a few pints. I went out to Gravediggers and has to be the best Guinness I have ever had. Had 3 more just in case. Also hit Bowes, Mulligans and Briody’s. Great pints and would rank in that order.

This channel is the best it showcases Ireland and the beautiful pint of plain. The guru is exciting to watch, sells the pints brilliantly.
Great channel. Love your reviews. I always go for a Guinness here in London. Thanks for doing the London reviews. Will check out the pubs you featured. Cheers.
london is the best place to drink in england
Thanks for your very interesting video. For all the Information. I wrote all in my list for my next travel in April. Gracias amigo.

just went yesterday
my family also from athlone and my fave pint was in three jolly pigeons
I was having a night off but after watching this for a few minutes, I’m just on way out. Thanks for the inspiration.
Excellent video thanks for your input I love Guinness 👍👍👍
Bowes is a belter of a spot alright, and glad you mentioned mulligans as pints of plain there are always beautiful. My own recommendation would be Fallons just off Patrick St opposite Patrick's cathedral.
No one cares.
@@patrickmckenna1334 - no one cares that you don't care Patrick. Good man yourself
Nancy's front bar in Ardara Donegal my personal favourite pint of Guinness 👀
Great video! We enjoyed Foxy John's last month as well - good call! You missed two: Dick Mack's in Dingle and The Malt in Dublin. During our 10 days in Ireland, we drank a SHITLOAD of Guinness pints, and The Malt won the prize for best. :)

And don't worry about big gulps. I've seen oulfellas swallow the glass on the first gulp.
What an absolute belter, makes me pine to go back 😭😭. And when I do it will be a homage to you, where did you get your jumper from 🙇♂️🍻
Love his emotion and devotion 😅

Bowes is a cracking pub was in there on Sunday
I recently went to Dublin for a holiday and couldn't wait to see what all the hype was about after hearing everyone say it's so much better over there.... And they were right!! he sounds like he's commentating on the football
Went to Kavanaghs last night on the review of this video and i can confirm the Guinness is amazing.
As a man with family descended from phibsborough/glasnevin for over 200 years, and a proud local. Got me drooling GURU... 🤤🤤🤤
The shtick looked better on camera for nos. 2 & 3. Bowes is going on the list for the next trip to Dublinia and a revisit of Walshes in the Batter 👍
Great video as always mate… was wondering what happened to Culzy.. the banter between you both was always awesome hopefully he will be back at some point 👍👍🍺🍺
@Rob Hooley lol Covid cut backs lol
LOVED Foxy Johns and Currans both
PJ Kellys and Lava Kennys in Ennis Co.Clare.... cracking pints!
I passed Bowes literally every day on my way to college and never went in.... top 10 regrets of my life
Love the videos man. Look forward to one day getting to Ireland to learn about my Irish heritage and then drinking so many pints at Bowes that I forget it.. Cheers lads.
Subscribed, seems like a sound lad! 👍
This channel is so good I even watch a compilation video of videos I've already seen at least twice and still enjoy.
he's good at this, as is his cameraman, but the great thing is he knows it's about more than one pint
You're my hero, would love to have one with you one day sir
Greetings from Krakow, Poland! Man i need to get to the Ireland one day 🫡 - what's the Irish tune in the background when Guru is at the 'gravediggers' ?☘️
the song is by machine head called become the firestorm
The dying cow outside Tinahely in Co. Wicklow has got unreal pints of Guinness and one of the best in Ireland.
Love Ireland, we were treated so well by the locals, we were on a stag doo... a mate of mine decided to get married at age 33 FFS, we went there in full highland dress, you can imagine the welcome. Great Video, and we all love Guinness.
Did he ever say why he married so young. Or at all?
Brennans Bar in Belfast ( close to the Jury’s Inn) do a serious pint of Guinness. Need to try it out
The
Cross bar drogheda is a perfect 10
Was in dingle last night. The standard of pints in unreal
So true, had some top notch pints in a pub in Dingle once
It’s good to see most of the best pubs are close to Guinnesses, the way it should be.
Yes
Get yourself back to drogheda Darragh,my local greannans bar ,on the newfoundwell road ,has creamy pints of the black stuff
You should sell little signed placks for the pubs to buy if they have a good rating , make yourself another few quid 👍
"i was 'ere"
I had a pint in Bowe's and put a picture of the pints up on Bebo. That's a sign that I'm long overdue a visit.
I've been there again since. Was working in Grand Canal dock and catching a bus back to Drogheda so had 1 in Mulligans, then Bowes, then the Palace. Bowes was another level.
As an American i can firmly say, Guinness is my favorite thing from Ireland…. I could have a “tapped G” anytime of the day🙌🏻
Love the reaction at Bowes.
Best moment on the channel ever. Watched it more than I’ve watched my wedding video 😂
The best pint of Guinness I ever had was in a pub called The Pure Drop in Listowel in Kerry. The smoothest, least bitter pint I’ve ever had.
i tend to remember more the pints that weren't than the pints that were

bowes no doubt is the best pint I've ever had. I've been to bowes a few times and never disappoints. Gravediggers 2nd best pint. When I went to gravediggers my friend and I said we would go for one and head back into town. We stayed and had 5 pints each. was just to good.

Well, it was more than three *pints*; it was pints in those three pubs. You get what I mean though.
Hi phil.from dublin myself..heard bowes is a great pint??.as good as they say.we have so many great pubs in dublin we take them for granted allright lol..
Just love ur vids
That firepit pub pint, deserved at least a 9.
Now that is a great pint!

Best pint in Ireland is in Richard Brennans Bar in Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow.
Was in bowes today, didnt have a great pint tbh. Bit dissapointed but it was half 2 in the day not many in there
Trinity Bar & Venue has a great pint
last time i was in gravediggers they had a small brewery stout!!
Late comment, but would actually think it would be a bit of fun to have an app like the One Bite app where people review pints of Guinness at different bars/pubs. Would be nice to see where the good G is at in your area
Taaffe's throw a splash of Baileys into the glass just before the pour to fool the person rating it. Been doing it for years.
Dohneys & Nesbitts, Mulligans, Long Room, Slattery's (rathmines) & yes Bowes!!!! No mention of the Blue Light?
Best pint of Guinness for me
Was at a small local , Oliver Berne’s bar , Elfin , Co Roscommon . 👍
Bowes wasn’t great when I was there. Quite a sour after taste. Will try it again soon.
I thought the same myself, Mulligan's was a way better pint.
we need a spreadsheet of all the scores you've given
So do it Ben.

we miss culzy. Get him back for some dirty creamers
😂😂😂
You need to try The Hut in phibsboro. Not far off the diggers. Better than 95% of the other more famous pubs in Dublin. Also Toners, best pint on baggot St.
Hut full of prison officers ? Used to be anyway .I prefer Doyles on the corner .
Do you chew, chewing tobacco or put cotton wool in the side of the cheeks?
Go to a pub called the Bowling Green in Chorlton Manchester my home town or come Wesht to Castlebar where I live now and go to John McHales👍
Or the Compass bar Currane
Great video, been to a lot of pubs in Dublin, with exception to the Gravediggers. I'll get there next time. I took your advice a few months ago and hit Bowes.Holy shit, what a pint,or 6 pints. The best I've had ever#BOWES. Gravediggers next month.

Mulligans has gone to shite especially on busy nights. I went in one Saturday and they had 15 odd pints on a tray half poured.
so im assuming all Guinness in Ireland is all from the same factory. so what makes it the best here or there? the pour? the temp its chilled at?
John Fallons way up there in my opinion but the hut in phibsboro beats the lot, good man guru,, do few more dub pubs
Great video.
I’m still snapping you mentioned Bowes it was a secret spot previously
Jenny Watts in Bangor, great pints
How do you get the stiick on the pint glass from the tap

Jackos in Scariff in Clare without a doubt easily best guinness around
Tigh Neachtains in Galway, best pint I've ever had
You need to try a place called temple bar in dublin eire
Come to lovely listowel and head to Sean's the saddle bar for a pint of black
I'll put ya up if your stuck
Brogans of Dame Street for me is the top cream in Dublin
Noted!
Grogan's Castle ...top pint
You should do a crossover with Rate My Takeaway
Currently supping a pint of pure black cream in Joyce's, Recess, Galway County. The challenge is down - I'm rating this higher than the Gravediggers!
If you are ever in Monaghan try Coleman's Pub of Laragh, My brother rates Guinness on social media also, Coleman's was his best pint ever
Briodys deserved a mention
I was expecting to see Bittles there
Live in America.
Best pint in ireland, Brandon co. Kerry. Mullallys pup or Murphy's pub
Watching this at 9 I'm the morning and i could go sit in a pub right now and down pints of plain creamer's all day 😋
You should try the foxes den in Ashbourne
What's with the footage of the hardware shop at 7:12?! 😂
"Holy fuckin shit"- what a response to that first bite of a pint - says it all. Good man! (18:35)
whata coincidence gravediggers and mulligans, my faves
