    Great Video!
    This is the right future direction however, as a solutions architect, first impression comes into my mind is how fast it performs and how much space it requires to implement a service now application considering the amount of overhead it requires that comes with all the customization and templates it has already included. If you need a custom based app that does not exist in service now, what's the advantage of setting it up on the service now platform compared to setting it up in separate cloud independently?

    Someone in my company is implementing ServiceNow on behalf of a client. I, software developer, have been asked to help them implement various technical workflows that they don't understand.
    Having watched this video, I've learned that IT people are a "necessary evil" and we make "smart, revenue-producing business people feel dumb and badly about themselves".
    So I'm just going to let the ServiceNow person figure it out themselves. I wouldn't want to get in the way of all that revenue production.

    How I choose between ServiceNow or Salesforce?
    I'm looking to do certification. Salesforce is huge and starting to saturate. Tons of professionals already in the market. ServiceNow seems newer and less competition, however not as widespread.

    The claim that ServiceNow can replace the IT department is dubious at best. I would argue that it can be a great tool to make the IT department far more efficient though.

    • @ServiceNowSimple
      @ServiceNowSimple  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say that's fair Jardar. There was a time when if someone needed a website, they had to hire a developer to create it. That process has now been simplified (with a great deal of time, design, and coding) to the point that same person needing a website can now just build it themselves (with WordPress for example). I love that ServiceNow is taking that paradigm to the corporation. If a business person (the real revenue producers) need some IT-service to support their business process, how awesome would it be if IT processes could be packaged up in a way that would allow that business person to create the IT solution themselves!

    • @jardarsundeolsen3123
      @jardarsundeolsen3123 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ServiceNowSimple there's still a lot of integration work needed, and other implementation. Some changes to the infrastructure will require more of that work to be done. There's also being able to understand the infrastructure you're managing properly which will frequently require a deeper understanding than a higher level business perspective. For smaller solutions this may work reasonably well, once implemented, for the business users, but for a large solution set I think that can get very challenging very fast. There's something to be said for experience and simply having the time to focus on something more specific.

    Basically it's a way to keep track of requirements without having to interact with the IT people?..
    I don't understand why this exists..
    Is it because email is messy?.. weird
    Business people can't solve IT problems. If they could, they would have become IT people..

    • @ServiceNowSimple
      @ServiceNowSimple  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Reuben, thanks for your feedback. Here's how I see this. For most companies, IT is an expense. The IT department doesn't bring in revenue. The revenue comes from the business folks, and the value of IT comes from enabling them to be more effective and productive. ServiceNow's goal is to make the delivery of IT services to the business folks as simple as possible. Maybe even so simple, that the business folks can do it all themselves? That's the goal. Let me know your thoughts! It's a good topic of discussion...

      Hey NAC, I appreciate the feedback. I think my goal for this video specifically was a high-level overview of ServiceNow for people that maybe saw a commercial or heard it mentioned someplace. I have vids on other topics that dig deeper and are more demo oriented. If you have a few mins sometime, take a look and let me know your thoughts. I’m always looking for perspectives on how to improve the content. Thanks!

      I get your frustration. I think it's because ServiceNow does so many things, but here's my definition in a nutshell.
      ServiceNow is a software company based in Santa Clara, California, founded by Fred Luddy in 2003, to solve problems large enterprises face with traditional IT delivery by providing a robust, simple to use, cloud-based environment in which businesspeople can solve the business problems themselves.
      Even simpler, ServiceNow can be thought of as your IT Department, in the cloud.
