The concept looks better. Automakers are bad about toning down their final products in comparison to their concepts. I understand the whole functionality over form and all that, but they could’ve kept those body lines imo. This has 2011-14 Charger vibes before the 2015 facelift.
I think they nailed it with the concept. Looks like a shorten wheel base as well, also look smaller and bubbly with a flat nose now. The concept wasn't my fav tbh but I was alright with it looks like a cyber punk 1970 dodge charger which it grew on me

Then they switched it with the 15+ models honestly the backend is pretty cool I love the 14 charger taillights. It's like they tried to get the old-school muscle car stance without actually giving it the stance. Instead of the rear coilovers or shocks being jacked up a bit, they just made the body lines on the front angle down...but it still sits flat. Either GIVE it the stance with the suspension or just don't try to at all

Just remember that normally the first model year change of any vehicle is normally ugly AF. This has been proven many times including by Dodge. When the Challenger came out it looked like it set 12 in off the ground and was just a big brick. And over time they actually made it look halfway decent. The charger has undergone countless small changes over the years until they've gotten to the point where they actually look very sexy. But right out of the gate they normally never get it right fully.
The first Dodge vipers, and the relaunched challenger’s and chargers were hits from day 1. Most cars with ugly first model years, are usual considered ugly even after the revamped models years later. I can’t think of too many car companies pulling that off.

So true! They’ll be getting HC swapped and even 392 swapped in no time!!! This would be huge potential for DirectConnection to sell swap kits but the only caveat to that would be registering them and dealing with emissions BS. That’s one way to avoid the fines & work around from the EPA for not selling compliant vehicles “from the factory”. That’s the only way I’d ever get a new one. The I-6 has huge potential but I’d still buy what I really want and nothing replaces that V8 rumble ❤
During the press release they stated that concept model was the electric version. The banshee was the model they showed. The spy pics are the gas version. The hurricane engine version. 100k is the banshee srt option they displayed.

The engine itself should be plenty strong, the H.O is forged aluminum everything. What I'm worried about is Stellantis doing this GME-T6 the same way they did the GME-T4 and give it the smallest turbo possible for the power goals they wanted. For example in the 2.0T Giulias and Jeeps you only get 40-50hp more before the turbo runs out of headroom
I just read. Stelantis is pulling out of the Detroit auto show. I suspect they're going to delay this charger until they get it right. The platform has to have flexibility to put the hurricane in and the EV drivetrain, if they should choose to continue with it. Most times, though, the actual street version never looks like the concept.

At first I was like 🤨 but then I was looking at it more thoroughly and I realized how much I like it. It looks like a modern version of the 1968 which is my dream car. It also has like a retro futuristic cyberpunk vibe which is something I love.

I feel like what we're looking at is a base model version of it. Add a hood scoop and chin spoiler to that front end and it might look pretty dope. With that said, I don't think that's the EV version. We know that there was a car that was shown some months back with that frame style with a transmission tunnel. This could very well be what they're putting the i6 in. And I know you're saying people are going to Hellcat swap it, but a turbo i6 that makes 500hp isn't a bad thing. And I love V8s...you're just not getting that rumble with the i6.
It feels like it’s a lower trim. The plastic under section of the R Wing, lower quality lights (with the separation on the DRLs), and cheaper looking wheels all combined make it feel like it’s the base model with no upgrades. It also looks unfinished. Maybe if they gave it the Stryker Red paint job it would look better. Also I wish they kept the flush door handles. The looked so good on the concept.

1st Gen of a new body style, if they do a straight 6 and the 5.7 and then eventually something high horsepower I think it would be dope by the time they do that refresh facelift 5-6 years in. All it needs is the 2 curved body lines that are on every Dodge Charger on the side door to look more aggressive. On the bright side they finally gave us a proper retro 2 door Dodge Charger. It’s a retro design of the 1968 Dodge Charger. For the past 20yrs they’ve been giving us the retro design of the 1970 Dodge Challenger. Now after years of asking Dodge they give us a retro Dodge Charger. Also since it’s pre-production I hope in the final version it gets the door body lines in the final version.

it will probably be like the early vr30 in 2016 before they fixed it. twin turbos is twice the amount of turbos to break on you.
The back headlights are really giving 2012 SRT8 vibes & if you zoom in guru very very closely on the back of the bumper it says (DAYTONA) on the back

1st Gen of a new body style, if they do a straight 6 and the 5.7 and then eventually something high horsepower I think it would be dope by the time they do that refresh facelift 5-6 years in. But ev's really don't make sense, where you charging it if you don't own a house? When are you charging it? If the government really wants to completely electrify driving, then they gon have to create infrastructure that isn't there, every parking space in America would need to be a docking station 😂 businesses, apartments, they'd have to be literally everywhere, and everybody can't afford em. It looks so much smaller than the SRT Banshee like how much does that thing weigh? The more I look at it the more I like this waaay more than that Banshee vacuum cleaner EV bs. All it needs is the 2 curved body lines that are on every Dodge Charger on the side door to look more aggressive.
On the bright side they finally gave us a proper retro 2 door Dodge Charger. It’s a retro design of the 1968 Dodge Charger. For the past 20yrs they’ve been giving us the retro design of the 1970 Dodge Challenger. Now after years of asking Dodge they give us a retro Dodge Charger. Also since it’s pre-production I hope in the final version it gets the door body lines in the final version.
