It really makes no sense. I love both shows, but I truly believe that if BCS had ended more recently or at least after Succession, they would've won at least something. Breaking Bad is considered by many as one of the best shows of all time, and BCS is considered by many as an even better show than BB. I know Succession deserved recognition too because it's great, but zero awards for BCS feels ridiculous and sad.

is it just me or does all events that happen in succession end up in tragedy? Connor’s wedding ended up with Logan’s death, Shiv’s wedding ended up in Kendall car crash, Kendall’s birthday ended up in a sad fight etc etc.

I love Better Call Saul but no way in hell they're going to beat Succession, it's just damn impossible. Succession deserves this. Better Call Saul wasn't robbed dude, it just didn't lost to another great show 🤷
I thought the Better Call Saul's drama was stronger and the characters were more complicated, while in Succession the characters were quite one-dimensional and predictable. And one problem was that i couldn't relate to Successions characters For example, in the first season, Kendall was presented as an addict and he smoked meth for christ sake and did not get hooked? An addictive person is trying the most addictive drug in the world and not get hooked? I have very long history of drugs, so i know first hand how it should played out and show failed in terms of realism in this one(sorry i dont are quite sure how to explain what i mean as a non native speaker)and isnt realism one of the main purpose of the show? This was more of a side note, note as an example that Succession was not a flawless show.And yes i didn't forget that kendall had an 'wake up call' accident, but this meth thing happened way before of that. And in real life accidents rarely get you sober. I really liked the build up in first and second season of Succession, but I had the feeling that nothing really led to anything. And it was constantly talked about who would become the next CO and was discussed from start to finish in the series and it eventually had no weight anymore it simply weared off but they still kept pushing that same agenda. In my opinion, Succession was a pretty pointless series towards the end: I watched at it twice to be sure(maybe i give it third try and pay more attention) BCS, on the other hand, provided excitement, twists and stunnig drama and a flawless elaborate and detailed plot, and the end result was absolutely flawless and the style of the series is in a class of its own, very original. While Succession -type programs are more like house of cards, Billions or Six Feet Under (which is, by the way, a much more impactful series than Succession) And even Watchmojo ranked BCS to number one. What about imdb? Hundreds of thousands of people have rated BCS as a better program than Succession And i definately dont trust emmyvoters. If i recall right, they voted the last season of game of thrones to best drama series. I mean what the ****?? But i didn't expect bcs to win, if not Succession it would probably go to last of us. And for the record, i like Succession as well, i just think bcs is more multidimensional show and succession is a bit overrated. English isn't my first language but hope you get me.

BCS has the most bitter fanbase of all time. Complaining about awards being a “popularity contest” (Succession series finale had only 2.9 million viewers), complaining that awards are “too woke” (Succession had an all-white cast), complaining that you need violence/action sequences/nudity to win (Succession had none of those) and complaining that HBO rigs awards (AMC’s Breaking Bad and Mad Men won a ton of awards, as did The Crown on Netflix, Homeland on Showtime and Mrs. Maisel on Prime Video). There is a huge chasm in the writing between Succession and Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul might have heightened plot points and feel more like your quintessential "TV" show (in the same vein as HoTD or The Last of Us or other shows that try to tell fantastical stories), but Succession is just absolutely carried by its sophistication and witty writing. It has so much rewatchability because of the rapid fire one liners and zingers that you miss the first time around. There is no fat on that show and it ended at a perfect time. Not to mention pretty much everyone on that show makes a case for being the most interesting character... we all have our favorites of course, but everyone who gets significant screen time is doing everything perfectly as possible... no filler characters within the main ensemble. Its honestly mind boggling that a team of human beings were able to write this show with nary a false note or misstep along the way.

is it just me or does all events that happen in succession end up in tragedy? Connor’s wedding ended up with Logan’s death, Shiv’s wedding ended up in Kendall car crash, Kendall’s birthday ended up in a sad fight etc etc.
That's just a Kendall fan's perspective. Yes, Kendall's life is one tragedy after the next.
But Tom and Shiv got a pretty decent ending, compared to everyone else. They have a baby on the way. Roman is finally free.
Greg is better than he ever was. Logan is dead, so now the siblings are free from being tormented, Gerri no longer has to deal with Kendall and Logan, Mattson got what he wanted, Karolina is free from Hugo, lol.

I thought the Better Call Saul's drama was stronger and the characters were more complicated, while in Succession the characters were quite one-dimensional and predictable. And one problem was that i couldn't relate to Successions characters For example, in the first season, Kendall was presented as an addict and he smoked meth for christ sake and did not get hooked? An addictive person is trying the most addictive drug in the world and not get hooked? I have very long history of drugs, so i know first hand how it should played out and show failed in terms of realism in this one(sorry i dont are quite sure how to explain what i mean as a non native speaker)and isnt realism one of the main purpose of the show? This was more of a side note, note as an example that Succession was not a flawless show.And yes i didn't forget that kendall had an 'wake up call' accident, but this meth thing happened way before of that. And in real life accidents rarely get you sober.
I really liked the build up in first and second season of Succession, but I had the feeling that nothing really led to anything. And it was constantly talked about who would become the next CO and was discussed from start to finish in the series and it eventually had no weight anymore it simply weared off but they still kept pushing that same agenda.
In my opinion, Succession was a pretty pointless series towards the end: I watched at it twice to be sure(maybe i give it third try and pay more attention)
BCS, on the other hand, provided excitement, twists and stunnig drama and a flawless elaborate and detailed plot, and the end result was absolutely flawless and the style of the series is in a class of its own, very original. While Succession -type programs are more like house of cards, Billions or Six Feet Under (which is, by the way, a much more impactful series than Succession)
And even Watchmojo ranked BCS to number one. What about imdb? Hundreds of thousands of people have rated BCS as a better program than Succession
And i definately dont trust emmyvoters. If i recall right, they voted the last season of game of thrones to best drama series. I mean what the ****??
But i didn't expect bcs to win, if not Succession it would probably go to last of us.
And for the record, i like Succession as well, i just think bcs is more multidimensional show and succession is a bit overrated.

BCS has the most bitter fanbase of all time. Complaining about awards being a “popularity contest” (Succession series finale had only 2.9 million viewers), complaining that awards are “too woke” (Succession had an all-white cast), complaining that you need violence/action sequences/nudity to win (Succession had none of those) and complaining that HBO rigs awards (AMC’s Breaking Bad and Mad Men won a ton of awards, as did The Crown on Netflix, Homeland on Showtime and Mrs. Maisel on Prime Video). Cope and seethe.

@teamblue2431 They made liberals look horribly too like Shiv, the Pierce family, Nate and Gil. The Roy’s were conservative but it portrayed them in a sympathetic light at times, especially Logan who was shown to constantly outsmart his kids.

I love Better Call Saul but Succession obviously deserve this
There is a huge chasm in the writing between Succession and Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul might have heightened plot points and feel more like your quintessential "TV" show (in the same vein as HoTD or The Last of Us or other shows that try to tell fantastical stories), but Succession is just absolutely carried by its sophistication and witty writing. It has so much rewatchability because of the rapid fire one liners and zingers that you miss the first time around. There is no fat on that show and it ended at a perfect time. Not to mention pretty much everyone on that show makes a case for being the most interesting character... we all have our favorites of course, but everyone who gets significant screen time is doing everything perfectly as possible... no filler characters within the main ensemble. Its honestly mind boggling that a team of human beings were able to write this show with nary a false note or misstep along the way.

Succession cleaned the Emmy's and rightfully so, by far no show came close in 2023. What a disgrace from House of the Dragon, from winning every Emmy as Game of Thrones to 0 Emmy's and even more embarrassing had Peter who won every Emmy announce that you didn't win.
HotD won an Emmy. GoT got a slow start in its first season too.

I watched the first episode of succession and was so unbelievably bored. Maybe it's one of those you have to struggle through or something and it gets better? The Last of Us was great right away though. Exciting the whole time. Weird that the other one won.
