Yingchao got into great physical condition for these matches. These were not bums that he was defeating either, but some of the best young Chinese players. His sidespins were working, that's for sure.

He's got the touch! Lovely sidespin from both sides! Always a pleasure to watch! Rock on!

Great control and feeling whilst keeping the power shots. A great modern defender. Good to watch.

Wow ! His stubborn returns to the smashes of the young players r incredibly fantastic. How could he do it?

  • @pukulu

Yingchao was playing great. The younger Chinese players are simply not accustomed to so much sidespin, and balls that keep floating back.

And sp chops where they cannot pre- predict the spin coming back. They are used to lp.

He has unbelievable Ball returning capacity for prolong period . Racket may help for victory for only for maximum 20 % .His tremendous hard work for returning any Ball from from any direction is root cause of victory .

I love the way he spanks the weak underspin push to his backhand

Very very few of HYC wide-forehand _ultra_ -hook shots these days. I don't know why.
Perhaps players simply don't want to take that risk against him anymore.

Believe to be a short pip/rev combo. I believe. Gets a lot of side. The chops and slices are quite fast and spinny so don't look particularly like the more slower LP shots.

To win against choppers, opponents should be very patient!Thats the key point. But young attacking players usually are in a hurry to finish a point!!And hence they easily lose point after point! This is the reason why top experienced players like XuXin,Ma long,Fan Zhendong,Timo,Dimo and many others easily chew Choppers!

Fair point. I know this is true especially in lower standards. That Wiley old pip player will and does often make younger up and comings look silly.....

Yes he is a good chopper and defend player but the fact is that XuXin or Ma long chew him and spit him out!

In a match where SP wins, it's not fair. We should have comps playing SP against SP and IR vs IR. That way competition is relevant and valid. If you play against SP all day, you can work out a way to beat it eventually but I haven't a chance to see SP play against themselves, lol.

To play pips/anti isn't a breeze has their own disadvantages as well as advantages. Same as reverse. However, can see why hardbat comps are popular and, the newer ping pong champs with sandpaper. Playing with exactly the same weapon each, isn't a bad idea. Then, the playing field is equal and it's then just down to the better player. Valid point. However equipment variety is part of the game more so than other sports maybe. And ping pong does attract a number of styles, which for spectator makes watchable.
But watch someone like Timo boll power hit through a defender is truly wonderful, he makes it look easy.
