    Good to see you out rolling!
    I can so relate about not being able to stop yourself going out to skate even though you're injured... Even though sometimes it prolongs the healing times, I don't feel right anymore without having a roll around every few days!
    Take it easy and take care of those ribs ✌️

      Haha I weighed the pros & cons of me NOT skating while injured and it’s just bad news for me to not get that energy out.
      Trying to take it as easy as possible at all other times, for sure

    You are savage! Out there sending it with broken ribs! This edit and skating kicked ass! Love me some big wheels in the park!

      Dude, I’m out here trying to keep from going insane and this is my only outlet, pain be damned!
      I don’t know why I’d never tried it out before, but it was a ton of fun, for sure.
      I’m just out here tryna air these copings like you and get comfortable enough to throw some grinds on coping haha

      @@MattBurke820 Hell ya! I almost want to skate my 4x80 M12 powerblade setup at the park more than my aggressive setup. I just love the smooth coast and the float!

    I was struggling with Speed on my Roces fifth elements as they came Anti Rocker, I changed the wheels to the Famus wheels and put some ABEC 11 in there and now they are almost too fast.

      Oh you’re gonna love them. Heat mold the liners and wear some thick socks when you skate. The tighter boot can be a bit rough at first, but these skates made me fall in love with skating all over again in a whole new way.
      Hope they do the same for you!

    I'll keep harping on you to use an ice pack on those ribs. I promise it'll help.
    Before I bought my Aeons, I used to bring my 100mm setup to the local skate park - K2 Unnatural/Trimax/Hydrogens. After about two months, one of my hydrogens was worn down to 89mm. It can be fun, but I honestly haven't touched my 100mm setup since buying my aeons, and now that I have my FR1 Deluxe skates, I usually take those out to freeskate while my wife practices her quad skating. But I also live in a place with crazy SF-like hills, so I don't have as many opportunities to bust out the skates and cruise the streets as I used to when I was living down the hill.

    I always grind so much better on a tall frame! Essentially that tall ass frame is your soulplate for topsides. That’s why the fishbrains worked so well. You were looking solid out there :)

    • @MattBurke820
      @MattBurke820  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is my first time, but it felt super fun haha.
      Those fish brains were crazy fun, definitely makes sense to be a bit easier on the taller frame hah
      Appreciate it my man!

      Matt Burke Me and the boys are going to be skating at the skate park in Saint Augustine if you can make it. It’s called “treaty park“ and we will be there Sunday, July 19 from about 3 PM on. I know you’re injured but it might still be fun to roll around and get some footage ;)

    I was wondering if the rocker on the 90s would help in the transitions. They would probably get squirly but once you got used to them they might be really good in a bowl or a quarter. Maybe an idea for the next vid?
    You can call it rocker vs flat on 90s. I think I just found you some You Tube gold!!!

    When I used to skate as a kid this was all we had so it's pretty normal for me, but just the other day I took Next SUV 150mm for a test on a skatepark and that was an interesting experience!! Hard to get speed
    All of the kids I coach are learning on 80mm as well, probably the same reason I did. Parents don't want to pay so much for kids aggressive or they just don't know that's what they need.

    You really need to try the rocker on those frames. Forget trying to grind on the silly little wings and see what you can do with the rocker. It's intense.

      I’m going to be honest - I have NO IDEA what the benefits of, or what rocketing even does haha.
      I pulled up a search on google after reading your comment, but haven’t gone down the rabbit hole yet.
      I’ll look into it and give it a shot ASAP though, as I should focus on less impact with the ribs hah

    Thanks, dude. I love watching your videos. I picked up a pair of the Burg/Grey 90s a month or so ago, and have had similar problems with the right skate. I ended up popping them out at my ankle bone, but am thinking of going for a bit more, as they are fairly broken in and I'm still getting some significant pain after skating...QUESTION for ya, though. I see you put some new laces on, are they longer waxed ones? I feel like I may need to do the same. did you have to mess around with the top strap? I am having issues getting it to feel tight enough, even after clipping a few of the plastic thingies.
    Skate safe, brother!

    I just got the Kizer flux frames for my Powerslide nexts core 80’s. Have you rockered yours or skating flat? Man I put the triangle nuts in from the outside facing in - rather than inside pointing out - was unstable as f&*k 😄 Finally figured it out, but I got them so I could try rockering like the wizards. First time ever skating rockered, it’s crazy manouverable. Just wondered your thoughts? Haven’t made my mind up yet. Awesome vidz! X

    Hey, man. How is that pressure point on the right skate going?

    • @MattBurke820
      @MattBurke820  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not as bad as it was, but i still get small blisters after a little bit of time on them.
      I wear 2 pairs of socks and they still don’t protect enough, so I’ve really gotta get a pair of those neoprene booties or something to protect more.
      I haven’t taken a heat gun to the boot to pop it out yet, though, but I plan on doing that soon and hoping it works out

    • @PaKa_Skating
      @PaKa_Skating 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After my blister gets away i buyed some skate socks and the neopren footies from powerslide. No Problems since then. I think i dont even need the footies anymore but without i feel the skate is a littlebit to lose. Didnt need to heatgun it. It felt like it gets wider after some skating. Sry for my english 😅

      Today after skating >2 hours another blister on the same Spot... 🤨was without the footies. Next Times i gonna wear them again i guess.

      The BLM graffiti is still there. If it’s not prominent enough, I have 0 issue going back and painting it much, much bigger.
      The ‘all lives matter’ statement is a crock of bullshit that I do not stand by, not stand for.
