I have this mic. Haven't used it much so far, just a few tests and it's definitely leagues above anything else I've owned before. It's not as finnicky and over-sensitive as the previous condenser mic I've used, and it has a real nice low noise floor just using a basic cable/interface setup.

Just bought it. Doesn't arrive until tomorrow but after researching it I felt it was an excellent starting point for my wife and I to complete our home studio. We are both old school and used to walking into a studio and getting what you want. COVID ruined that so.... Thank you for helping me feel better about my decision.

I used this microphone on professional orders as a session vocalist and I have had people not be able to tell how cheap it is!
It has been surprisingly solid for rock/metal vocals!

I have been considering grabbing an MXL CR89 recommended to me by an amazing artist with a voice like mine but way better. I of course decided to check your videos on MXL mics and this mic sounds really good to my ears. So fulll and clear especially with that big bottom engaged (that’s what they said). This mic is so surprisingly good on your voice when you sang it was magic. You have a good singing voice but this mic added caught so much character and detail withou sounding shrill at all

I have a used MXL V69 ME (transformer less) and I found a V69 XM (transformer) tube mic on Ebay, each one just over 100.00 with all the needed stuff and case too. Buying used is a great alternative. These mics will make a big difference if you're using them for vocals. You do have to figure in shipping and taxes so figure I scored both mics used for just under what you would pay for just one new. I got no great sale that's just what their selling for used now.

honestly great quality video! I've been using the MXL V67G Mic for a long time but it's some limited edition silver one (MXL V67G HE Heritage Edition Large Capsule)
that i LOVE the look of and has a really sturdy solid design. The sound is perfected for my beginner self and this review really made me happy. You hit the nail on the head except I spent $120. What would you recommend for a you tuber for the same price point? Not that I wont find out before you comment, I plan to watch a lot of your videos. Thanks for your video!

I want the 67i. It has a bright mode. Perfect for my bass range voice. Other mics are too dark and even the cheapest ELAM 251 clones cost more than this mic. I have a HARD time finding a good bright sounding mic.

MXL changed the V67. The older version had standard sized internal board components. The newer ones have tiny micro sized components. I have the newer version and I'm disappointed with it. You're better off with a Berhinger B1.

A secret that I found out. This mic is sensitive to moisture and starts to decay in that lovely sound all the way to no sound. Two spritz of alcohol for electronics for sanitation and place in front of a heater for 8 mins on both sides. Or place in oven 2 minutes 185. It really opens up the sound and additionally dries up all that residue spit in the device.
I sold mine to early and the person noticed it didn't work, then I tried this and felt like an idiot when I pretty much handed over a $400 sounding mic for NO MONEY. For the church. That was soooooo stuipd. This MXL is a great mic and since then puchased it 2 more times
