I debated on whether I was going to incorporate a few minor, intentionally distinct differences from his version, since I figure it's probably one of the better known version on TH-cam. I eventually decided that I'd add some light modifications that I felt complimented my playing style and made the song feel a bit more personalized. It's always a little nerve-racking making any adjustments to an established song because I want to be as respectful as possible to the source material. But I feel like if approached carefully that most old-time songs give enough wiggle room for some good individuality without compromising the song's integrity.
