Can The 1st-Place Timberwolves Actually Win The CHAMPIONSHIP?!

- For years - scratch that, for decades - the Minnesota Timberwolves have been an NBA afterthought. The type of team that exists to merely fill out the schedule. But that's all changed this season, because with a well-built - if unorthodox - roster, the Timberwolves look every bit the contender their record and place in the standings suggest they are. The Wolves are for real, and you should get used to it.

I hope these boys go far.
I love an underdog story
Underdog story? They’re the 1st seed in the west😂😂😂
@@landobuzzing6664there is no respect for the timber wolves
@@landobuzzing6664clearly talking about the Timberwolves franchise as a whole
@@landobuzzing6664 u stupid lol, they are underdogs still. The media doesnt respect the wolves cause of their history, these aint the old wolves no more tho
@@landobuzzing6664and haven’t been higher than the seventh seed since 2004.
1989=that is how long we have waited to see this team.
They're in the perfect position to contend for a title, but I don't see them actually winning a championship yet. They're 1st in the West, but we saw this a few years ago with a different team that featured Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert. Difference being I think this team as a more synergetic roster and Ant is better than Donovan Mitchell at was at the time. Also have to consider they gave the champ Nuggets the hardest time in the playoffs last season. But ultimately I don't see them beating the established contenders in the later rounds of the playoffs.
We sure Ant>Mitch?
@@hyabberhanefor sure

Completely different. For one, Utah had no one even close to being equivalent to KAT. Secondly the Utah Jazz farmed the regular season with usually the best offense in the league and Gobert kept them respectable defensively. However, when they got to the playoffs the Jazz's lack of quality perimeter defending limited their ceiling. The Timberwolves are the opposite. They are top of the West becasue of how good their defense is. Jaden McDaniels is the best perimeter defender in the league, and when Edwards is switched on, he is elite on the defensive end. Offensively, Anthony Edwards is a playoff riser. He is averaging 32 PPG in the playoffs, and if you watched the Denver series last year or the Gummybears series the year before, you can see that AntMan gets what he wants in the playoffs. This is not to say that I think the Timberwolves are going to make it out of the west, but I think comparing this TWolves team to that Utah Jazz team simply because two of the players are the same is lazy.
@@brandonsukalski8618Thank you!!!! Not only is this is a very surface level (and terrible) comparison, we have to remember just how injury riddled and weird that 21 season is. In 2024, the timberwolves are doing this back to regular nba and fully healthy teams across the whole league
All they need is to trade for a shooter or a PG and they will be just fine. The offense is the only thing holding them back rn
You mean a back up point guard? Because Minnesota Mike is a staple
tyus jones
On point analysis. Not only do the T'Wolves have a chance to win, but MJ's son Ant (Google up side-by-side photo of both) at only 22 years old is already poised to rule the league for awhile as he continues to get better. The GM they acquired from Denver has made brilliant personel moves as expected and should continue to do so. I think the stars for a dynasty is aligning?
As of today....
The Wolves have THE weakest strength of schedule for their remaining games.
Number 30. The weakest.
Had 16 games in a row against legit playoff and championship contenders. Went 9-7 through that stretch. 10 of those 16 were on the road too. Wolves have only lost 2 games at home. I have no doubt Wolves are finishing a top 3 seed. Could very well stay #1 and break their franchise record of 58 wins.
@@nathanaelgion2762 yea. We just finished the 2nd toughest strength of schedule. And that Celtic game was a classic way to finish....... just would have liked the win
@jerrystraka7856 we were short handed too. The refs were a factor at the end of the game too.
@@rickysubie exactly. Rudy and Conley sat.. I like the way Finchy is handling things. He's dealing with NBA egos and seems to have a good grasp.
Love watching this team when they share the ball 🏀
Plus we have only lost two in a row ONE TIME since March 31st
WOLVESSS BACKKKKK
They need better role players in my opinion but I’m here for Ant dawg to get a championship
Naz Reid
we will respect jordan mclaughlin
Nuggets or Clippers in Western Conference Finals
We are going to win it
Okc and Minny can give us a surprice also magic
They just need more time to gel. Hopefully the next half season is enough. It's like iron, the more you hammer them, the more they get tough.
Stay healthy and keep playing.
We definitely winning this year
Naz Reid
They can. The question is will they?
I need to see how they perform in the postseason. Regular season and postseason are 2 different animals. Are they ready to beat Denver or the Clippers in a 7 game series? Nuggets have championship winning experience. Clippers although they've underachieved and been derailed by injuries, have playoff experience. I'm not buying the Minnesota hype, YET.
2-0 against them with a win against both, we’re here
I'd like to see them get out of the first round.
Hell f-ing nahhhh not a chance in hell
No, not with this offense. Chris Finch needs to hire an offensive coordinator or something
We can win the championship it’s all on Kats gameplay come playoffs
No. Mostly up to 2nd rd of the playoffs
No Minnesota team can win a championship, except the lynx....
Timberwolves are the current day 2014-15 hawks
the only piece they need or at least improve is there offense, aside from any creating his own shot in the clutch when defense really shrink and teams scouted each other well, once they shut down ant it’s a struggle, if mike can regain his right handed floater or towns shows up in the playoffs they ain’t going deep
Rise or another Fall for Charlotte Hornets new ERA & new owners your next video theScore 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hell nah.kat sorry AF haha but he think he good when he makes an easy basket hahah
They're gonna win it all.....
In the west. 😂
I can't wait to see some team upset this good looking in regular season. If you're all being honest with yourselves. They won't even beat Clippers with a healthy Kawhi. When they face nuggets, they will be embarrassed.
They just beat the clippers, with a healthy Kawhi. Also, the Nuggets don't like playing the wolves. We match up well with them, better than just about any other team. But keep hating. Rather have my team as the underdog.
who would have thought they gonna be good with KAT.
I did.
Me. Yall just hate on KAT
Kat is a bucket always has been.. U don’t know ball.
Basketball fans with a brain knew the wolves were gonna be good with KAT.
Second round of playoffs is max what they can achieve.
1st also to take the exit
nah they need 1 more piece like a forward like siakam
Why do we need him? Kat been solid and Naz Reid off the bench is a dawg
Nah. They will melt at the first good team. Rudy Gobert is a liability on offense and has many weaknesses on defense that can be exploited preparing a game well. KAT has played 2 serious games in his life, and in those games his decision-making was borderline ridiculous. These are the second and third best players of the team. Usually these kinds of teams do not work well in the playoffs.
The only potential upside: Ant being much more mature and ready than what he seems to be at the moment.
Copy and paste take by a casual who would have thought
@@jotangs4311 Ok 😂. I have seen live a France-Spain final of EuroBasket one year ago. The defensive strategy of Spain? Let gobert receive the ball. He threw it to the fans 5 times in a game. Cannot wait to see it in the first half of game 2 of the second round. I also saw KAT losing by himself play-in with turnovers, bad shots, and defensive mistakes a couple of years ago. I saw a way younger Mike Conley arriving injured to the post season several times when he was in Memphis. Finally, I have never seen Ant in a serious playoffs game.
So, yeah, not casual. But many questions about the 4 best players of this team.
@@riccardoferrazzo8283 if you wanna nitpick about every team it’s easy. If you watched the Denver series the only thing that happened is that we were injured badly and had no chemistry. This year we have chemistry and hopefully we will be healthy. KAT at the four is is mismatch vs 90% of teams on offence
@@jotangs4311are you referring to that series in which Denver won the first 3 games by 10-20 points each without even sweating? And in which Minnesota ended up fighting with each others during timeout? I can accept the injury argument, but good teams can put up a fight (see Denver 2-3 seasons ago with Murray out). Bad teams collapse badly, like Minnesota did. But hey, let's see.
@@jotangs4311the good thing, this year there is a lot of mediocrity in the league, except for Denver and Boston. So maybe Minnesota can win taking advantage of the fact that the league is kinda in a transition phase after Lebron's and GS's eras.
They’ll make the WCF, but will still lose to the Nuggets
I mean we do dont do bad vs Jokic
Nuggets are trash
denver is not as good as they were last year
If fully healthy they’ll beat the nuggets in a series. Remember they gave the nuggets some difficulty and that was with KAT missing 70+ games of the season, No Mcdaniels & no Naz Reid playing.
I didn’t say they’d get swept. They just won’t beat the Nuggets
Both wolves and clippers have 3 All-Star caliber players but only 1 is capable of playing that level during playoff
Clippers still there
nah
No. Okc is better, they have so many turnovers
nope
No they can’t / won’t
lol the dog days of the nba at its finest
No. Timberwolves still suck. They are soft
they are cool except for KAT haha he is made of cringe
Lakers is the definition of cringe, lol
Cringe or no cringe a bucket is a bucket
@@senkuu16 unfortunately that support unit horrible
@@richborn6700 okay 👍🏻 hahah bucket full of cringe 🤣
nope, trade KAT and they will be.
kat been ballin wdym
@@DeezerWeezer20 he been ballin every year "they say", but where did it get em, without Antman? You'll see what I mean in the playoffs.
dumb take. Trade KAT then the offense struggles.
They’re going nowhere in the post season. They have two of softest big man in the league
The wolves are just like the jazz a few years back. Ant playing like dmitch and gobert being gobert. Good in the regular season then trash during playoffs
Jazz had ZERO perimeter defense. Minnesota been #1 Defense most of the season because they shored up the deficiencies Utah had. They have defenders like McDaniels, Alexander Walker, Kyle Anderson, even Ant who is a better defender than Mitchell ever was. Why is it everyone thinks because we have Gobert and Conley were literally just the Jazz? They don't have two 7 footers on 50/40/90 splits holding it down defensively as well.
stop, please.
