Somehow, because it's Chan singing the "blessings wait for you" part, it just hits me hard and makes me teary. He's someone you would truly want to say that to you, someone you would trust that it was true, someone you would feel truly wants that for you and honestly believes it will happen. It was the same for me in Grow Up. When Chan sings "you're doing fine, you're doing fine, you gotta take your time, you will do just fine," it feels like he's speaking directly to me and that he means it. Because he's Chan. Does that make sense?
as a fandom we understandably dont allude to this a lot but mixtape #2 hits extra hards because of how much they repeat their desire to stay together as 9 and obviously as we know that didnt work out for them, it makes me sad not because i miss them as 9 or anything similar but just thinking about how hard it mustve been for them :( it reminds me of hyunjin in their first concert as 8 begging stays to never leave them 😭
While we will both never understand the full pain that the fandom and the group themselves must have gone through during this time period (since we're only finding them now), we're immensely grateful that they were able to pull through these tough times and come out together stronger in the end. So the naming of the tracks is a bit confusing, but it has to mostly due with copyright. When SKZ first recorded the 3RACHA songs as SKZ songs, they renamed them to Mixtape and then the number based on order of release (this is when they were recorded with nine). When they went back to re-record as eight, they were also removing any elements written by the member who left (as each member had a writing credit on the nine member versions), which meant they would also have to be re-submitted as new songs, so they returned the songs back to the original 3RACHA song titles as the OT8 versions. Additionally confusing is that the Mixtape numbered series has nothing to do with the songs labeled Mixtape colon Title. The MIXTAPE series were singles released outside of promotions for other albums. Some of these songs were for special events like Mixtape: Time Out for Stay's Birthday, or Mixtape: Oh being the video that first showed Hyunjin with the group after hiatus. Not all the Mixtape songs are related - the common thread just happens to be songs the guys wanted to release without being tied to an album. There is a mini storyline where two of the mixtapes appear to be included (Mixtape: On Track M/V, B Me (the unveil track video specifically), Mixtape: Oh M/V, The View M/V).

Like YOUNG WINGS became SPREAD MY WINGS, GRR LAW OF THE... became BEWARE (that's all i remember) Also it's really something listening to these soundcloud music 3racha secretly uploaded when they were trainees, and then listening to how they devloped and polished them with other skz members. We literally experienced how they honed their skills as producers and rappers. (and the fact that their authenticity is apparent in their lyrics and that their aspirations were literally being met with every year of their career.) 47:15 exactly how it was when i first heard Hellevator (2017) and My Pace and Voices (2018) and didnt know who skz was until 2022! (i know their name, but not them exactly) especially Piece of a Puzzle when it was just an hour left of my birthday (coz Korea is an hour ahead my country, so technically, the song was released in my birthday haha).

These are comforting songs to me, the situations are so real too like yes I relate! I know I put these songs on (with other skz motivational/comforting songs) when I'm in a down mood (sad, unmotivated, etc) , it honestly helps! I love Mixtapes cause they were like the first where all members helped write lyrics (the verse/lines are written by whoever sang them), it proved that all members contribute in song making (though not always since others focus more on dance/vocal/rap than producing).

I loved this reaction 💗 I am so happy you started with the 3Racha versions. Although more raw and a little darker because of their situation at the time. When you listen to the SKZ version, not only do you hear the evolution of the music, but the lyrics have a more positive outlook without changing the overall message. "For You" is the song I listen to when I am having a hard time or in a dark place with my thoughts. Especially Chans part. I don't know why, but when I hear him singing "Blessings wait for you," it's like he's saying it to me. It always makes me feel better. The OT8 version is my favorite one, Chan's voice when he hits those falsetto notes is so beautiful. You def should learn Felix's rap in Placebo cause it does feel empowering, especially the "Drop my rusty chains" part.
If you can, I recommend also listening to 'mixtape spin off', it's skz's mashup of mixtapes 1-4 that has an unveil mv on the jyp channel. I think most people have forgotten it but I love how it sounds
Mixtape #2 is one of my favourites. Seeing all the behind-the-scenes footage, particularly pre-debut, shows how close they are. And a small taste of what they had to go through to get where they are now. Lee Know and IN in particular seemed so young! Mixtape #3 has some foreshadowing. Flowers are Hyunjin's favourite thing to paint\draw. He once bought flowers and painted them and once they died, painted them again to show that they still had beauty to them. We have plants in South Africa that disappear after wildfires and aren't seen for years, until another fire when they bloom again. Sometimes there are multiple fires before they grow again. Then the flowers that were growing while they were gone disappear. Sometimes the cycle is decades long, so people think they are extinct. Natures way of telling us to be patient, everything in its own time.
For the other versions that we didn't react to in this video we will check out for sure. I've already added the current versions to my playlist so I can listen to them in the car 🤣🥰

The first ones are the most emotional for me, because I'm very sensitive and watching them being babies and with all those struggles they had to go through at the beginnig of their carier just make me so emotional! Their songs are always so relatable and It's a good thing that we can see the original versions from 3racha because it shows how much they have improved in many ways and they keep getting better and better! Also it always gets me emotional the bond they have and how they are always there for each other! If you notice in most of their Mvs they are always alot happier when they are together. In many MVs we see them first apart and then all together and its then when they are the most happy! I'm really jelous of this, for every kpop group, that they have each other no matter what and they can go through the hardships all together! That's the reason that Mixtape to is one of my favorites! i'm posting a comment more than 3 weeks after the release of this video (and i'm terribly sorry for that), but i couldn't find any comment that mentions one special thing about 3RACHA's "placebo". so, in the last lines "cause later when i become addicted to life" there's a nice harmonization of chan's voice and the voice of lily from nmixx!! it was so long ago that i noticed a hint of female voice in "placebo" and i kept wondering who sang it.. until chan confirmed himself that it was lily!! i'm super in love with both 3RACHA and ot8 version of "placebo" :D
Mixtape #2 / Behind the Light - in the album intro (for I am WHO? I believe where this one was included on) they talked about how each member wrote their own part for the song. Changbin kept a lot of what he had in the original, but did change it up too (sorry, I'm a Changbin bias so he tended to be the only one I super focused on regarding part changes lol). Not sure if Han/Chan kept a lot or if they changed it up completely. This song is just beautiful. Out of the 3 mixtapes you did today, I think Behind the Light is my favorite, but honestly love ALL of them so much. When you get to Broken Compass... well that's my fav among all the mixtape #'s hehe edited to add - I believe they've said before that for all the mixtapes they wrote their own parts. I kind of inferred it was just #2 in my comment, but it;s not just that one, they did it for all the ones they reworked from 3Racha to full group.
I love that the other members got to have a hand in writing parts on these. It just makes it that more personal. Broken Compass should be next on our Mixtape list so I'm excited to get to it!!

I don't know why but when you released this video I didn't feel like watching a reaction to mixtape and then you had other reactions and I'm late.... In the next few hours I'll watch the 3 other videos ! 3racha version ! I wanted to make a point for all 3racha versions together because the same things stood out to me with the 3 songs ! First of all I had never listened to the original version ! I actually never listened to any 3racha songs but I know some. Excuse me I listened to Wow because Wow is Wow 😂 The changes that really stood out to me is like the 3racha version have a "bad" quality and like less arrangement. For the quality it's normal since 3racha used to record with Han phone so the quality was not that good. For the arrangement I feel like the skz versions are more complete and more time was spent on arranging the song in my opinion at least. About 3racha. Since they debuted with Stray kids they did not release anything under the name of 3racha. The closest to that would be Just breath or Hey day but again it was not 3racha, it was 3racha from Stray kids. That's exactly I do not count We go, Just breathe, Hey day or 3racha as 3racha songs. I really hope that they'll have an album or even just like rerelease their songs with a better quality and on Spotify too ! Placebo ! This mixtape is my favorite mixtape ! For a long time I would say that i was Mixtape Oh, then Time out was released but every time I would go back to Placebo ! I really love this song. Felix's rap in this song is literally everything for me. Like my fav Felix's rap (with his 3rd eye rap) and I love "rapping" it but I have to admit that I stutter a little bit because he is so fast. The way you laughed at the way Minho pronounced Placebo is me ! Everytime I hear this song I have to listen to the way he say it and then I copy him and I laugh. I just find it so adorable. Really for me Minho is nothing else than a cute little baby (yes even when he is evil) and I don't care if he is 6 years older than me ! Fun fact ! She was a trainee for 6 years so she was close with them (especially Chan since she's australian too) and Chan already mentionned that her voice is in Placebo. Behind the light ! I know I mention it often but it's even more true for this song but I do not like the ot9 version. It might just be for me but I'm not a huge fan of his voice and his voice stands out so much to me. And even more, in some songs, since Woojin wrote his part they just cut his part and the songs shorter ! That's the case here since his part in the bridge was just cut and I'm not used to hear something after Innie's part. I really love the vocals in this song ! Also this MV really showcase their friendship and how childish (in a good way) they can be ! I love their friendship so much, it's like the dream friendship I want to have one day in my life ! For you ! So yes For you was in I am you, it was 1 mixtape per album until clé 2 yellow wood (where the 1,2,3 and 4 mixtapes where put again) and then in clé levanter a new one. And then it became like 1 mixtape per year. For the names of the mixtapes I actually don't know but I can say that when they rerecorded ot8 versions for the skz2020 album, the songs were called their original names so Placebo, behind the light, For you, Broken compass and Hoodie season. I don't have much to say about this song beside again the fact that I do not like the ot9 version. Because again Woojin's part in the intro was cut off so I'm so used to a guitar intro longer than in the ot9 version. The lyrics of the last two songs and your comment at the end was quite on point for me right now. I dropped out of uni in december and even tho I know I shouldn't think it's a failure because I learned things during this 1 year and a half and I already know how to work when I will go back to uni but sometimes I can't help but feel like it is a failure

I am so happy you started with the 3Racha versions. Although more raw and a little darker because of their situation at the time. When you listen to the SKZ version, not only do you hear the evolution of the music, but the lyrics have a more positive outlook without changing the overall message. "For You" is the song I listen to when I am having a hard time or in a dark place with my thoughts. Especially Chans part. I don't know why, but when I hear him singing "Blessings wait for you," it's like he's saying it to me. It always makes me feel better. The OT8 version is my favorite one, Chan's voice when he hits those falsetto notes is so beautiful. You def should learn Felix's rap in Placebo cause it does feel empowering, especially the "Drop my rusty chains" part.
We're glad we were told about them! I would have been upset if we had missed them. It was amazing getting to listen to the two versions back to back.

If you can, I recommend also listening to 'mixtape spin off', it's skz's mashup of mixtapes 1-4 that has an unveil mv on the jyp channel. I think most people have forgotten it but I love how it sounds

Mixtape #2 is one of my favourites. Seeing all the behind-the-scenes footage, particularly pre-debut, shows how close they are. And a small taste of what they had to go through to get where they are now. Lee Know and IN in particular seemed so young!
Mixtape #3 has some foreshadowing. Flowers are Hyunjin's favourite thing to paint\draw. He once bought flowers and painted them and once they died, painted them again to show that they still had beauty to them.
We have plants in South Africa that disappear after wildfires and aren't seen for years, until another fire when they bloom again. Sometimes there are multiple fires before they grow again. Then the flowers that were growing while they were gone disappear. Sometimes the cycle is decades long, so people think they are extinct. Natures way of telling us to be patient, everything in its own time.

(not sure if we ever had a confirmation for this one but the theme lines up + plus the standing on the tables at the end which is one of the most important scenes of the movie)

The first ones are the most emotional for me, because I'm very sensitive and watching them being babies and with all those struggles they had to go through at the beginnig of their carier just make me so emotional! Their songs are always so relatable and It's a good thing that we can see the original versions from 3racha because it shows how much they have improved in many ways and they keep getting better and better! Also it always gets me emotional the bond they have and how they are always there for each other! If you notice in most of their Mvs they are always alot happier when they are together. In many MVs we see them first apart and then all together and its then when they are the most happy! I'm really jelous of this, for every kpop group, that they have each other no matter what and they can go through the hardships all together! That's the reason that Mixtape to is one of my favorites! It always make me sooo emotional! Today I wasn't feeling that well but your reaction made me feel better! Stray Kids always make me feel better and your company was what I needed! i'm posting a comment more than 3 weeks after the release of this video (and i'm terribly sorry for that), but i couldn't find any comment that mentions one special thing about 3RACHA's "placebo". so, in the last lines "cause later when i become addicted to life" there's a nice harmonization of chan's voice and the voice of lily from nmixx!! it was so long ago that i noticed a hint of female voice in "placebo" and i kept wondering who sang it.. until chan confirmed himself that it was lily!! i'm super in love with both 3RACHA and ot8 version of "placebo" :D

Mixtape #2 / Behind the Light - in the album intro (for I am WHO? I believe where this one was included on) they talked about how each member wrote their own part for the song. Changbin kept a lot of what he had in the original, but did change it up too (sorry, I'm a Changbin bias so he tended to be the only one I super focused on regarding part changes lol). Not sure if Han/Chan kept a lot or if they changed it up completely. This song is just beautiful.
Out of the 3 mixtapes you did today, I think Behind the Light is my favorite, but honestly love ALL of them so much. When you get to Broken Compass... well that's my fav among all the mixtape #'s hehe
edited to add - I believe they've said before that for all the mixtapes they wrote their own parts. I kind of inferred it was just #2 in my comment, but it;s not just that one, they did it for all the ones they reworked from 3Racha to full group.
I love that the other members got to have a hand in writing parts on these. It just makes it that more personal. Broken Compass should be next on our Mixtape list so I'm excited to get to it!!

3racha version !
I wanted to make a point for all 3racha versions together because the same things stood out to me with the 3 songs !
First of all I had never listened to the original version ! I actually never listened to any 3racha songs but I know some. Excuse me I listened to Wow because Wow is Wow 😂
The changes that really stood out to me is like the 3racha version have a "bad" quality and like less arrangement. For the quality it's normal since 3racha used to record with Han phone so the quality was not that good. For the arrangement I feel like the skz versions are more complete and more time was spent on arranging the song in my opinion at least.
About 3racha. Since they debuted with Stray kids they did not release anything under the name of 3racha. The closest to that would be Just breath or Hey day but again it was not 3racha, it was 3racha from Stray kids. That's exactly I do not count We go, Just breathe, Hey day or 3racha as 3racha songs. I really hope that they'll have an album or even just like rerelease their songs with a better quality and on Spotify too !
Placebo !
This mixtape is my favorite mixtape ! For a long time I would say that i was Mixtape Oh, then Time out was released but every time I would go back to Placebo ! I really love this song.
Felix's rap in this song is literally everything for me. Like my fav Felix's rap (with his 3rd eye rap) and I love "rapping" it but I have to admit that I stutter a little bit because he is so fast.
The way you laughed at the way Minho pronounced Placebo is me ! Everytime I hear this song I have to listen to the way he say it and then I copy him and I laugh. I just find it so adorable. Really for me Minho is nothing else than a cute little baby (yes even when he is evil) and I don't care if he is 6 years older than me !
Fun fact ! I don't know if it's in the ot9 version nor in the ot8 version but it's in the 3racha version for sure ! You can hear Lily's, from Nmixx, voice. She was a trainee for 6 years so she was close with them (especially Chan since she's australian too) and Chan already mentionned that her voice is in Placebo.

I know I mention it often but it's even more true for this song but I do not like the ot9 version. It might just be for me but I'm not a huge fan of his voice and his voice stands out so much to me. And even more, in some songs, since Woojin wrote his part they just cut his part and the songs shorter ! That's the case here since his part in the bridge was just cut and I'm not used to hear something after Innie's part.
I really love the vocals in this song !
Also this MV really showcase their friendship and how childish (in a good way) they can be ! I love their friendship so much, it's like the dream friendship I want to have one day in my life !

So yes For you was in I am you, it was 1 mixtape per album until clé 2 yellow wood (where the 1,2,3 and 4 mixtapes where put again) and then in clé levanter a new one. And then it became like 1 mixtape per year.
For the names of the mixtapes I actually don't know but I can say that when they rerecorded ot8 versions for the skz2020 album, the songs were called their original names so Placebo, behind the light, For you, Broken compass and Hoodie season.
I don't have much to say about this song beside again the fact that I do not like the ot9 version. Because again Woojin's part in the intro was cut off so I'm so used to a guitar intro longer than in the ot9 version.
The lyrics of the last two songs and your comment at the end was quite on point for me right now. I dropped out of uni in december and even tho I know I shouldn't think it's a failure because I learned things during this 1 year and a half and I already know how to work when I will go back to uni but sometimes I can't help but feel like it is a failure

I really love this song. Chan's part gets me every time 🥺. Oh we had someone explain a little bit about all the confusing titles so it makes a little bit more sense now. We were so confused before which is why we waited to react to them like this 🤣. And I'm glad we did! I don't know if we would have known about the 3RACHA versions if we hadn't (until later that is)!

I love to see the growth between the first and the new versions,how things change. Like in SKZ Replay,Han song Run was from a few years ago and he said back then it meant like running away but now it's more like running along with us
(Spoilers for the survival show, but important context for For You) I'm pretty sure 3racha had released the original version of For You right after Minho had been eliminated and the song was a message to him. Remembering that definitely made me tear up reading the lyrics and imagining them trying to get their message across to Minho.
