Perfect blend of music with ATC and intercom, this is one of my favourites. The final approach shots with the sea birds circling the rock was stunning.
It’s a picturesque fuel stop for sure.
Great music Jon. Really adds to the beauty of flight. Looking forward to the next bit of the adventure.
Thanks Richard.
That approach to 08 was stunningly beautiful. Those shots from under the starboard wing are fantastic.
It's an amazing approach!
Flights such as this show the beauty of the earth we live on and the privilage of flying.
Waiting to follow the rest of this adventure
Thanks Mikey.
Been looking forward to the reports! Thanks Jon. Nice to be back in Alderney.
It's a picturesque approach!
Look forward to watching that one.
Now this is an approach and a half! Loved following along this flight even though watching in reverse order!
Thanks Adam. It was an epic trip!
Loved it. Brought back memories. Haven't been to the Channel Islands since 76. Had forgotten how glorious they are. Always loved Guernsey the most!!!!
That’s one of the islands I have yet to visit.
Great stuff captain Jon
Thank you.
Beautiful approach and amazing how small that island looks from above. I loved the shot of the seagulls flying around those cliffs.
It was a very welcoming fuel stop.
Fantastic as always Jon. Beautiful weather and ditto for Channel Islands. Looking forward to more of your peregrinations
More coming soon.
fantastic views nice flight!
I reckon "OR"knows the way to Alderney & france by now Jon.Lovely video.Enjoy the trip & blue skies with tailwinds.
I can promise you, she still needs me there to guide her!
@@TheFlyingReporter in your skilled hands Jon.😀
Been waiting for this trip so have to agree, the approach to Runway 8 was outstanding, I get to see so many lovely places by watching your channel Jon. Nice for you to have a fellow pilot along for this trip. ✈️
Having a pilot with me really reduced the workload.
great report again Jon, super music, and my favourite place - Alderney, love the map graphics, a visit to Braye Beach hotel is a must even better with VAT free fuel at the airport
Yes, the hotel next time.
Stunning scenery and great views in the Alderney approach/circuit
Quite mesmerising. The lower RPMs in the circuit, quieten dow the airplane it it becomes quite serene.
Great camera set up, some absolutely awesome vistas, great job in capturing them
Thanks for watching Michael.
What an approach ! Great video once again, Jon

awesome as always!
Thanks Alexey.
Awesome video Jon! Was looking forward to it.
Glad it didn’t disappoint
So gutted I couldn't come with you! Looks like a great trip. Maybe next time :)
I hope so Tom. Would be a blast.
Great videos I only wish I could afford to fly more than I do at the moment
Right, that's Alderney on the ever growing list of places to fly into :)
Nowt wrong with that.
Hello Jon, Another great video! I just flew this leg on my flight sim using skydemon which specified right hand circuits for 08. Unless I was mistaken I think you flew left hand circuit for that runway?
Yes. You do as you’re told!
Alderney is a great place to fly into. I went there in convoy back in 2014 for the Alderney Fly-in. I notice you flew to cherbourg then west. We flew direct to from IOW. Was there any reason why you chose that particular routing. just curious... great video once again.
Wanted to get as high as possible. Higher than the class A airway I think. In the end we couldn’t get that high because of the cloud base.
Another informative, enjoyable video. May I ask whether your lifejackets are light-aircraft-specific? I need to replace mine and can't find any from Crewsaver that look like yours? Do you have recommendations?
I don't think they're specifically designed for light aircraft. I think the only requirement is that they don't self-inflate on contact with water.
Thanks. I'll look again at the Crewsaver range. They seem to be popular.
Great video. If you’re not already, my advice is to stay in Alderney. Only mug punters go on to France :-)
Was your passenger a ships pilot.
Why bother getting under the cloud before France? Having got that high may as well keep it, you're perfectly entitled to be vfr on top in france then use the IR r to come down at alderney. Although it is a beautiful place, bit of an odd decision to start from alderney- fuel is same price as the mainland and no duty drawback so it ends up 37p per litre more expensive! Jersey or Guernsey are significantly cheaper for fuel, still around £1/l IIRC.
Hi. Good questions. I wanted to stay VFR, didn't want to fly IFR because I'm out of practise, and the aeroplane has had some defects that rendered it not suitable. Fuel price was £1.42/l, which is marginally more expensive than Jersey was on 14/6 (£1.33/l) and quite a bite more expensive than Guernsey was on 12/7 (£1.19/l), but a darn site cheaper than Redhill was on 3/7 at £1.84/l. I don't understand your point about duty drawback, or which mainland you refer to, but it's my understanding that duty drawback is applicable on flights between the UK and the Channel Islands.
I should have added that my pilot passenger hadn't been to Alderney before, and wanted to visit.
Great video as always! Centre line is overrated anyway ;)
Ha!
I would like to join your training centre to complete my PPL PLEASE ADVISE ME ON
I LOVE YOU CHANEL AND ALL YOUR VIDEOS
GREAT 👍
He doesn't have a training organisation, just a co-owner of the aircraft that he flies around.
