Welcome to the Eastern Shore. My birth place. There is four major cultures...bay, middle, east coast, & Native Americans. Wish you the best on your future endeavors ⛴️
Oh my gosh I got so tired just watching you drive all night. I don't know how you do a 12-hour drive all at once. Like going to the moon. Congrats on pulling through with the wrist!
You were incredibly lucky to be treated at Orthopedic Associates. That is one of the best Orthopedic practices in the country. I'm sure you were in good hands. Good luck and do your therapy exactly as outlined. You'll be fine in due time.
All I've got to say is... WOW... and, way to support Elliot Jennifer. Us guys really need our buddies to get us through tough times. My honey has got me through 4 shoulder surgeries.
For sure, I couldn't do it without Jen! She's my rock... That's tough with 4 shoulder surgeries! Unfortunately this isn't Jen's first rodeo with my surgeries too... but hopefully its the last!
We are so glad your wrist is better Elliot! And that y’all got a reset and could head back to Pivot feeling a bit refreshed. Proud of y’all for staying positive through life’s curveballs!
Elliot great to see the results and how upbeat you are. When I had the wrist surgery the swelling never went down so it could not be casted. So right away I seen the pins on both sides of my wrist. First thought I had was this is going to hurt. Sniffed around TH-cam and found a video of pin removal. Watched it and worked myself into a panic. For me removal went great. When you crossed the CBBT you were about 6mi from us up Lynnhaven Inlet and Linkhorn Bay. Stay and Be safe and happy that the wrist is behind you.
Wow! Glad your removal went well! Just a little pain but all better now! 90% better atleast... It's about the journey and in my opinion the best way to have a great journey is to be upbeat! Thanks as always Jeffrey!
Hello. I used pick up these 34’ to 45’ trawlers, when they first came out back in the 70’s, as they came off the ship from Taiwan in the Oakland outer harbor, tow them back to our dealership and commission them. Just an FYI; to really clean the teak railings etc you might try Spic and Span... it really does a good job and is not expensive. Then oil with teak oil as necessary. You shouldn’t have to strip the teak if you keep up with it periodically. You also might want to wax the stainless steel railings as it’s not the greatest stainless steel and tends to show rust. I would love to own one of these trawlers - I’ve had several live-aboard boats over the years and wish I had picked up one of these instead of the Formosa 43 Swan-like sloop that we lived on till my wife got tired of it. A trawler would have been much more comfortable. Cheers.
Thanks for the tips Tim! Since the previous teak varnish (?) product is out of business and degraded significantly we are in the process of stripping it all the way down... Considering leaving it down and letting it grey naturally and beautifully... we'll see! We have some more time now that we had this roadblock so we can get to more maintenance like your suggestions. Thanks!!
Hi Elliot and Jen - glad that you are mended. Also now understand the lag between video shooting and real time! I'm guessing Pivot will be wintering in Maryland. On the upside, the borders should be open in the spring and you'll be able to experience the Canadian portion of the loop. Looking forward to the next video!
People of your age and condition do not usually just tip over. So, what do you attribute the fall to? Footwear or lack thereof, trip hazard, slippery surfaces, catching clothing on something, boat or dock movement etc.?
Basically, I didn't use 3 points of contact when stepping off pivot onto the fixed dock... It was high tide so there was a considerable drop. I didn't think about it and my foot just went in between the boat and the dock 👍
Wow, what a journey! Glad you got through it all! I was not aware that your videos were not current...lol. Thought these were being posted as you are travelling and I was wondering why so late in season to be stopped in Maryland. Now it makes sense I guess! Interesting how the insurance works, and even more how the surgery worked with the pins! That was weird!. Looking forward to seeing Pivot with the cliff hanger comment at the end....oh Pivot! Assuming that the marina cared for Pivot in some fashion for safety during the storms? Making sure it was tied up well and bilges working, etc?
Luckily we had Bill who kept an eye to make sure Pivot was still floating and even Ron from Amazing Mile Marker Stops (on TH-cam) stopped by and helped with a few odds and ends. Yep this explains it all :) We will be much more current going forward... not surprisingly its hard to work 40hrs a week, learn to boat, travel on the Loop, AND film, edit and upload the videos here 😂 But now that Elliot isn't doing software consulting anymore we have more time and will be focusing on our videos a bit more. The whole situation regarding insurance and surgery was a crash course! Atleast its all over now 😁 Thanks for your support!
Thanks James for sticking around till then end! Overall Pivot was OK (to be honest Ron from Amazing Mile Marker Stops had sent us a few pictures a week earlier as our biminy was ripped off) but we go into more detail in today's video!
Holy crap you guy's left this out of our conversation at the boat show!! Had no idea what you guy's been dealing with, watch where you're walking Elliott lol !! It gets worse with age i know from experience!!!
In today's video we will explain what's next but suffice to say we won't be shouldering the cold windy weather on Pivot, gonna be moving to warmer weather!
Not a big deal! All recovered now and its just an experience :) Definitely need to get more involved in the AGLCA! Are you going to the winter rendezvous?
It would have been so much better if we could have been fixed at Pivot in MD and had a typical recovery, since it was delayed so much it totally killed our chances of finishing the Loop this year! We will definitely be researching better insurance this winter. Oh well, there's always reasons it could have been better, I'm just happy to be healed and back to normal life 😁

So glad you are healed - and on your way back to your boat. ❤
you both are the definition of resilience!!!

Gives us all even more appreciation for insurance companies -- not. Congratulations on the recovery. Still following your adventure.
Right.... thanks for watching Andy!

Oh nice - didn't know they were such well respected! All healed up now and feel great so it definitely worked out!
Such a bummer, but cool seeing the CBBT!
You guys are simply tough…great story…never give up and always be prepared to Pivot!!!!
Thanks Luke! Definitely couldn't Pivot as smoothly without y'alls help and support ❤️
Y’all are such troopers. Glad everything worked out well. I know it was great to get back to your boat. Stay healthy! 👍
It was such a relief to get back to the boat... Thanks David!

Life resets are sometimes necessary even though at their beginning you just want to keep on keeping on.... Thank's Y'all! ❤️
A long haul but it’s good to see you recovered.
What an ordeal! So glad you are doing well 😊.
For sure - good thing time heals most wounds 😁
Elliot, glad you recovered without any major issues. Now let's pivot to doing more great boat videos! :-)
Absolutely! Pivoting back to Pivot 😁

You guys are so awesome love your series!
Thanks so much!
Love your videos
Yikes, glad that Elliot has recovered. What an ordeal! Looking forward to more cruising! Stay safe!
Thanks Mike! We are looking forward to getting back on the water!

That's exactly right! We are happy (all things considered) that we will have more time in Canada and the Georgian Bay hopefully!

Thanks so much y'all! ❤️❤️
Ollies going to make it all better
Yes she will, we can always count on her 😁
@@SchoandJo yes you are so right about that!!
I could make joke here but I won’t …cause I like the channel
Keep up the good work
Thanks Rich!
Pretty rare to see a manual (stick) car in the USA

Oh my that was a scary ending when you arrived at Pivot? Certainty hope all is well
Thanks James for sticking around till then end! Overall Pivot was OK (to be honest Ron from Amazing Mile Marker Stops had sent us a few pictures a week earlier as our biminy was ripped off) but we go into more detail in today's video!
Watched the pin removal while eating lunch. Mistake. Grossed me out. Hope you’re satisfied. 🙁😉
Ouch - should have had a disclaimer on a few parts of this video 😉 If it's any consolation we were equally freaked out in the moment haha
Holy crap you guy's left this out of our conversation at the boat show!! Had no idea what you guy's been dealing with, watch where you're walking Elliott lol !! It gets worse with age i know from experience!!!
Haha this is why our videos were so far behind! Never looking forward to growing up and getting older 😁
Bad joke: did you get a toolbox and maintenance schedule for that pin?
😂
Yay to 4K!
4k with 4k resolution 😄 💯
How will this effect your great loop with cold weather up north?
In today's video we will explain what's next but suffice to say we won't be shouldering the cold windy weather on Pivot, gonna be moving to warmer weather!
Follow the doctors orders, get well!
No doubt! Thanks Harold!
Isn't the medical system in the United States just Great😊
⚓💙
👍💪
Take a deep breath. It’s an inconvenience, not an incapacitation. Remember you’re in the AGLCA. You have help. Thanks.D.
Not a big deal! All recovered now and its just an experience :) Definitely need to get more involved in the AGLCA! Are you going to the winter rendezvous?
@@SchoandJo gonna pass on that one. We have trawler school coming up in the end of December in Dania Beach.
Imagine how much easier The Great Loop would be for non-senior citizens if we had Medicare for All.
Yep. Surgery wouldn’t even be an option. Just keep moving on the loop.
I have Medicare and with all the necessary coverage I’m paying $836 a month. Do not think Medicare is free my friend.
It would be a nightmare

You dont understand Medicare.
