This technique is awesome and works much better than mangling my hands trying to make the armatures look natural. Thanks for sharing!

You're the first person I've seen that addresses how hard the bigger WS trees are to twist and recommend a solution. Gonna try hot water and some pliers! Thanks

Hot water would be a great addition-good luck!

Could also fill with same shape bases, that are blue and represent ponds!

For gaming purposes, I would suggest swapping the lower piece for the base with something a bit more solid that can be thinner. Some of the thinner plywood, mdf, or similar tends to work a LOT better there for thinning it out and making it easier to use on the table, and it means that you can bevel the edges of the foam from the upper layer to make it even easier. The step looks like it's something to thick for stability for a lot of wargaming.

Absolutely. I had a bunch of foam on hand that I wanted to use, but any of the materials can be swapped for something that may work better.

@@OkayHobbyTime It's more of the thickness of the rim that tends to create problems for moving minis around.

Hey dude, I noticed your resin 3D printer is not vented at all as far as I can see. Just a reminder about VOC exposure and long term health. Stay well 👍

Thank you! And you're right-things have changed quite a bit regarding the placement of these machines since the filming of this video.

If you want it truely modular, make the shape of all the trees circular and with the same diameter. That way you can swap the trees around as well

Yeah that's great. I would love to revisit this one day using MDF and a hole saw.

@@OkayHobbyTime That is actually how I'm planning to make it for my next wargaming table.
I haven't tried it out yet, so I'm curious what your experience will be as well.

hit the tree armature with a heat gun (but not too long). it gets melty and you can move the branches and the trunk in any position you want

    • @OkayHobbyTime

That's a great idea. I already have a heat gun as well. Thank you!
