I have got a old BV 500i.e....Such a wonderful scoot...the engine Is eternal....It has twenty Years old technology but still acceptable...It brought me everywhere,Greece, Spain,Swiss.....and everywhere else here in tuscany where i live.....these new bv400 seems to me a very good product... wonderful engine and great comfort as usual ...good job Piaggio....as usual

Thanks! Yeah I hope to see more top speed videos to see if I am wrong and it might be faster. This is all I could get out of it. Yet for a motorscooter it is fast enough.
@@MotoSnax People always "want more", and ask almost imposible things to riding bikes... And high speed seems the most and unique spect when comparing scooters, when in muy opinion it shouldn't. What I like most on BV is how confortable, useful abñnd capable is when everyday riding: high riding position with "natural" grip to handlebar, narrow structure to everyday car fighting on city jungle, good height "to read" the traffic, good stability due to its length, and excellent engine at BV 350 that allows long trips. This does not mean BV is a 150 kmh scooter at all... Because there are better options to ride this speed. But it is the same with the TMAX 570: IT IS A Lovely scooter, with Superb ans sweet handling (brakes, suspension, stability, engine, lights... Are awesome!), but only a few dislikes for me: handlebar position in really low for my ridding taste (sporty position, but not so confortable for a high positioned communer handlebar as Bv's, X-Adv or Forza 750), and the six so call Speedy scooter Perfectly performs till 120kmh speed (unbeatable softness and riding quality!), higher speeds (up to 170 kmh) are posible but will require extra attention and driving care, and you realize that the bike easilly gives you what you ask but riding "suffers" or does not feel so good: for sure that better bike options are available in big wheel bike market for high speed ridding. What I mean to say: we are looking for "magical" performances to our bikes...but there is to live on reality
Yep, people always want more. I'd pick the Bev 400 over the TMAX. The TMAX is fun but it is too heavy and just too large. Quite a high seat height. I am 180cm/5'11 and I can barely put my feet flat on the ground riding a TMAX (530 it was). How often do you ride 170 km/h? I don't. With my motorcycle most of the times I don't exceed 140-150 km/h. I did never ride the X-ADV or Forza 750 though.
I downloaded the new remap in piaggio service, the previous week. No more problems at start, neither turn off of the engine!!! Greece, Athens.
Good to hear! I never experienced the engine to turn off. But I did encounter it twice or so to not start at the first press of the button.

Ik zou persoonlijk voor een BMW c400x gaan aangezien ze op de zelfde prijs klasse zitten.
146 kmh GPS ist schon für 400er nicht schlecht, was ich aber nicht verstehe, warum Piaggio macht so ein beschießene Design, man sitzt wie an einem Klo/WC, man kann die Füße nicht ausstrecken wie z.B. auf T-Max & Co. Bitte mehr Sportscooter Piaggio👍👍👍
149 kmh on GPS. :) Well this is just the model they chose. The Beverly is a competitor to the Honda SH and such scooters. It is not a maxiscooter like TMAX, Burgman, XMAX, Forza etc. I don't miss the option to place feet forward. I don't even use that on my NMAX.

Najbitnija su međuubrzanja .
Ovaj 400 hpe odlično ubrzava u najbitnijim segmentima , a to su brzine između 40-70 kmh , i šta je najbitnije između 60-90 kmh , jer te se brzine najviše koriste .
Ubrzanja između 90-120 su također vrlo dobra.
Preko 120 kmh ćete ga vrlo rijetko voziti.
Ja sam ga kupio prije mjesec dana i napravio sam 2000 km .
Vrlo sam zadovoljan sa njime.
Prije njega sam 10 godina vozio Beverly 300ie i bio sam prezadovoljan , ali velika je razlika prelazak na 400 hpe , jer 400 hpe ima 14 Ks više nego 300 ie.
Skuter je udoban i za duža putovanja.
Ja sam u jednom danu napravio 800 km sa tri zaustavljanja i nisam osjećao preveliki umor.

True! But it is nice to know what it can do, so you know at what speeds you can ride comfortably. The Beverly 400 is a great scooter! Good to read you really enjoy it! If I didn't have my NMAX 155 next to my Kawa ER-6N, I would have had a Bev 350 (discontinued model) or the 400.
Looks a nice bike. I recently bought the BV350 with a Leo Vince exhaust and as others have said I reckon its possibly a bit quicker than that. certainly up to 60 I think. I was surprised how nippy it was. As quick up to 60 as the Silverwing I tried I think which was way to lardy and heavy. Had mine up to 160kph on the clock of course, presumably not real speed. Anyway for me its all about low end grunt which for a scooter the BV seems to have plenty.
I didn't get more than 160 km/h out of the 350. The 350 is a great scooter, 400 just looks better in my opinion but is a little bit slower.

That must be because of the shitty Euro5 that you could get rid of.
I believe that the Euro5 reduces the motor specifications by around 30%, still a better scooter though than the ugly and huge Japanese ones.

They might change it. Most of the times I need to press the start button twice, yesterday it started the first time with cold engine. Warm engine always starts immediately. What are your starting problems?
Me parece que alcanzo más fácilmente esa velocidad que el modelo anterior. Desde luego el anterior era 350. Queda claro que el motor se muestra relajado y con casi ninguna vibración.

No this is a TomTom Vio. Quadlock has got some mirror mounts for some types of phones.

@@alexblueblood8327 yup but most of the times you need a case for your phone and not all phones are supported. Or it should be some kind of (hard)bag where you can place your phone in. Using a phone is better than a TomTom Vio as it is too basic. Good from A to B but a phone can do so much more.

@Lemon Squeezer The Beverly has a very safe ride style, I had chances to compare it with my previous two motorbikes and once I rode the Beverly (350) I was left surprised of how much easier is to ride this scooter.
On highways with front or side strong winds no problem, turning on both low or high speed no problem, braking while turning no problem!
Just I realized that a scooter has a totally different riding style if compared to a motorbike so you need to be aware of that for your safety or you just stay within your limits and ride slower.
Very, very nice scooter but with 400cc and 35bhp I thought it would accelerate faster. maybe it needs malossi or polini parts and an exhaust or something.
I think it will perform better with those parts. On the other hand it is still a fast scooter. I would not mind riding it the way it is.

I just sold the 350 for the new one but dealers dont have availiabilities due to covid.
The Bev 350 is faster from 0-100 and top speed. I think the Bev 400 looks better than the 350 but engine wise the Bev 350 is better probably due to Euro5 messing things up. Not sure though but that is my only possible reason for a 399cc to be slower than a 330cc engine.

@@MotoSnax It's definitely due to that crap Euro5 so get rid of it, not sure where the limitations are if in air filter, the muffler or the air intake but a mechanic knows it.
I think the 400's engine has the max torque at lower RPMs compared to the 350 so that is another reason why it takes longer to reach 100Km/h.
The 400 should ride better on high hills and two passengers but it takes longer to reach 100Km/h.
I hope they improved the engine heat because with the 350 during Summer the fan is often on during stops and traffic.

Ik had een vraagje. Ik heb ook een Piaggio Beverly 400 S en ik zit met een probleem. Wanneer ik op de top zit rond 150-158 km per uur begint het stuur heel erg te trillen. Wat kan het probleem zijn?
Kunnen meerdere dingen zijn. Check in elk geval je bandenspanning. Verder misschien wiel niet goed gebalanceerd of bijv. niet mooi afgesleten en bijv. gaan cuppen.

Perhaps first run it in a bit more. Also wind direction, outside temperature, your weight etc matters.

It is noisy because the microphone is close to the exhaust. I cannot compare it to a Honda 350cc as Honda won't let me ride their demo's anymore. I did not notice much vibrations.

Both are pretty good... really hard choice. Can't you test ride them? The Beverly should have more power and torque, but the XMAX 300 is pretty fast too.. at least when I rode it some years back.

Io ho il 300hpe anche se ha piû cavalli del vecchio modello (il penultimo con ASR) sento parecchia differenza nella spinta, è più morbido ai minimi, dolce nell’accelerazione, morto fino agli 85 e poi riprende alla grande entrando in coppia (ha anche piû giri di motore, circa 8000) velocita max al momento 128 ma sono sotto i 1000km. Comunque il vecchio modello ritengo fosse piü divertente come spinta, questo migliore in generale, come guida soprattutto

1-2% decline max but last time that also did not matter. It was the same on straight and this piece of road.

The fastest is the Beverly 350 Euro 3. I have the euro 4 and to get to 150 It must be slightly downhill and with the police chasing me. And btw I don't really like how the new Beverly looks. And the dashboard is horrible

But has less torque, pulls less fast. That is the big difference. But the XMAX 250 is a great scooter too!
You probably hit rev limiter wich is at 8000rpm

I think you should take the 1000km service before trying the top speed... the symbol on the tachometer tells you hadn't taken it yet

Daarna heeft ScooterXpress 'm gereden om te testen en daarna heb ik 'm gereden om er over te schrijven. Heb je mijn test gelezen? Kort daarna heeft ie weinig nog gereden en is uiteindelijk naar een dealer gegaan, in dit geval Pels. Het allerbelangrijkste zijn de eerste 50 kilometers en die heeft de importeur er op gezet. Max speed 350 2020 155 gps max speed 400 2021 155..with all that torque increased tho..
You don't notice the torque compared to the 350. The only thing it will probably do is run highway speeds at lower revs.

Ik probeer een proefrit te maken op deze scooter maar elke dealer die ik opbel heeft geen proefmodel. Weet jij waar je deze proef kan rijden?
Ik heb geen idee waar er een demo staat, heb je alle Piaggio dealers al geprobeerd? Bij Pels Motoren in De Meern (Utrecht) staat een gebruikte 400S, daar kan je vast wel een rondje op rijden. Ze hebben ook een nieuwe te koop. edit; die 2e hands bij Pels is de demo waar ik mijn review over schreef. Met maar 1271 km heeft er echt volgens mij niemand meer na mij er op gereden. Ik heb 'm zelf over de 1000 km gereden. Dan rij je in elk geval exact dezelfde Beverly als uit mijn video's. Had toch wel verwacht dat wat motorbladen 'm nog zouden rijden, maar blijkbaar niet.
@@MotoSnax Vanmiddag bij goedhart motoren de piaggio beverly 350 gereden. Rijdt erg lekker, genoeg power ook! Daarna bij Pels motoren om een proefrit gevraagd om op de 400 te rijden maar dit mocht niet als je de motorscooter niet daadwerkelijk ook wilde kopen.
Ga nog proberen om ergens de 400 te rijden, zonder proefrit kan ik geen besluit nemen. Wil de scooter in de buurt van mijn woonplaats kopen maar ook daar geen demo.
@@MisterRobsonz ik snap niet dat Pels je er niet op laat rijden. Je wil weten hoe het rijdt, maar zonder druk om te moeten kopen. Als het ding nou nieuw was met 1 km op de teller, dan snap ik het. Maar een demo heb je om mee proef te rijden. Anyway, een 350 is sneller dan een 400, althans dat was mijn ervaring, dus als de 350 je beviel, is dat ook een hele goede keus.
@@MotoSnax Ja beetje vreemd idd. Is die 350 veel sneller? Denk met een andere vario dat je alle power wel uit de 400 kan halen toch?
Topsnelheid ligt wat hoger, 0-100 km/u ook. Niet een heel groot verschil, maar met 70cc meer in de 400, zou je verwachten dat de 400 nog een stuk krachtiger en sneller is. Met een andere vario kan je vast de boel vlotter maken, maar origineel moet het gewoon harder lopen. Ik denk alleen dat euro5 gewoon de boel in de weg zit.

I rode a 2019 Bev 350, it did 160 km/h on the speedometer which was 155 m/h on GPS. :)

looks like the seating position hasn't improved.
At least I had no problems with the seat after riding 3 hours non stop. Normally after about an hour or a bit more it gets annoying.
@@MotoSnax I rode 400 miles in one day on my Piaggio MP3 500, it has a similar seat, comfortable...sort of. Always trying to push me forward and the knees are too bent. It works better for people less than 6 foot tall.

Why schould by a beverley 400ie its more expensive and the funnys thing is the high end speed of beverly 350ie is faster and the price is cheaper tax is cheaper and the petrol consume is less nearly 1.3litr too 100km.well the 2020 beverly 350 police is ten times better than 400.🙄🤔
It looks better than the 350. :) But yes the 350 is faster strangely enough. Probably Euro5. Or other people must upload their top speed videos. I am the first one on TH-cam so nothing to compare to.

Test the speed with gps then we will believe the speed of 149 km/h, everything else is inaccurate and can be called fake. Show us the Smartphone App with GPS!!!

Secondo me è vergognoso che questo scooter sia meno performante del vecchio 350. Fino a qualche tempo fa gli scooter Piaggio ( 300 e 350 ) avevano un costo ragionevole. Oggi costano più di un Sh Honda e offrono prestazioni inferiori con solo 2 anni di garanzia contro 6 di Honda. Questo non fa onore a Piaggio, che, a mio parere, ha rovinato con il 400 la linea morbida del vecchio modello, creando un ibrido e spigoloso 2 ruote, che ha perso ogni eleganza e morbidezza. Vergogna, Piaggio
The problem is euro5. But then again if you upgrade from 330cc to 399cc you would expect it to be faster or at least as fast as the older Beverly 350. I do like how it looks but I don't like the fact that the older 330cc has a faster engine.

You forget about the torque. The GRT 150 is slow to its top speed compared to this Beverly.
