- After being sober from the MCU for over a year, I decided to briefly return to it for it's newest movie, Deadpool & Wolverine. I wasn't expecting much out of a simple superhero action comedy that would inevitably be full of fan service, but I ESPECIALLY wasn't expecting it to make me think about a lot of things: About the current state of the film industry, about the whole debate on whether Marvel movies are real cinema or not, about fanservice and how much of it we can get before we get sick of it, and about my own personal relationship with the MCU.
Deadpool & Wolverine made me think about a lot of different things, and I want to talk about those things in this review.

Getting mad at the movie because you don’t know who a cameo was when he is a popular character is not a valid criticism
Also he claims that he watched every single X-men movie but didn’t know who gambit was even though he was in X-men origins

He also said in one of his videos that the Disney Renaissance Movies are totally at fault for "The Right Wing Culture War." and claims that's why he doesn't like the Disney Renaissance anymore, due to factors that are completely outside the movies' control.
There is so much in this video that is absolutely wrong. Like these “facts” are not “facts” at all.

I’d rather have an entertaining film with a mid plot than a boring film with no plot holes.
The only plot hole I found in this movie is that they're taking Deadpool from 2024 because Logan his anchor being died but Logan doesn't die until 2029 so it would have made more sense if they got Deadpool from 2034 instead plus that would explain X-23 from Deadpool and Wolverine being the same one from Logan as she's 12 in Logan so 5 years later in 2034 would make her 17

Absolute shit take. This movie was for fans of marvel comic movies from Blade all the way to this shitty fantastic four movies. Movie was hilarious and had some awesome implications for the MCU. If you did not like this movie you have 0 taste.

I mean I enjoyed the cameos but the movie overall was awful

People are so in their heads now that hey can’t just enjoy a mindlessly funny action romp.. “rumination is the killer of joy” is a saying for a reason.. sometimes neurotically analyzing things in order to be a “cool contrary-likable thing guy” doesn’t work, and this movie is perfect example of silly fun or just don’t watch.. to break it down this deeply defeats the purpose and theme of this type of movie.. don’t you see?? God you guys need to lighten up.. it’s not that serious

its clear that this movie *isnt* meant to be analysed on a fundamental level, because its rare for movies to be analysed like that. its not gonna be perfect, but nothing is. was it a blast to watch? of course! i saw it twice (my 2nd viewing was today) and i enjoyed it the same amount both times, even if i knew what was coming. its a silly action-comedy, thats all.

To all of the deadpool fanboys that didn't even make it atleast 30 seconds in the video. It's his goddamn opinion and perspective. He literally stated it in the video. he just wants someone who likes the movie to atleast understand his point of view. Tbh the whole multiverse thing is also in the comics, the wolverine who died in Logan isn't the same Wolverine in Deadpool and Wolverine. And y'all in the comments forget that his opinion on the movie doesn't affect your enjoyment of the film. And you know what would be funny, that Chris Evans played his character in Not another teen movie.

7:02 I started with black panther and I loved that movie but because of my ADHD TikTok attention span I was a little bored until the final fight I was like "when is the superhero stuff going to happen! 😭" But I still liked the movie nonetheless I think that was my 1st MCU movie and my 2nd one was Avengers Infinity War I remember being a 3rd grader and being a bus rider but for some reason on that day I was a car rider and my brother picked me up and we were heading to the theater I was SO HAPPY and I really like the movie I was so shocked I was like "OH MY GOSH! 😱 THE SUPERHEROES DIED THAT ALMOST NEVER HAPPENS!" and then after Endgame I didn't care anymore just like everybody else.

Just coming by to say I’m not investing an hour in really bad take.
"Superhero fatigue" is a bullshit term coined by film studios to explain why their poorly conceived, written, directed/acted superhero film under performed. The fact that well-written/executed superhero movies do well while shitty ones fail, debunks the entire notion of genre fatigue. A good movie will always be enjoyed. A haphazardly made film designed to cater to marginalized insignificant demographics will always under perform, because the people you're catering to either (A) don't make up a large enough demographic to make a profit, or (B) don't fit into the demographic as fans of the genre/franchise, and were never going to watch your movie anyway.
So monotone and boring to listen to. Only made it 30 seconds in before needing to turn off.

Dune part 2, kingdom of the apes so far have been pretty good, alien Romulus also looks promising
Dune part 2 is a great movie. I liked the new Planet of the Apes as well, but I'm a sucker for that franchise.

The dead pool movies are meh, this one was a shitty story shitty villain. But made up with the cameos and Wolverine acting, the Wolverine itself tho was just a random Wolverine from some random universe like who cares he’s no one special. In fact no super hero is special with all these damn multiverses. Then was shitty for a lil bit too many cameos, All the deadpools and stuff was pre stupid. But some cameos were great and is basically what made the movie good so it’s balanced. It’s not a great movie though, but prob the best deadpool movie.
Wolverine is usually seen as a hero (see: Logan, 2017). The Wolverine we stuck with through this movie is the opposite, the "worst Wolverine", as he chose to drink instead of protecting the people he cared for. That's why he was picked as the Wolverine for this movie, because it matches Deadpool's failures in many ways.
"No superhero is special with all these damn multiverses" is wrong. Each version of a superhero is unique, and they're all special. That is what makes the multiverse concept interesting. Has it been done to death at this point? Sure, one could say that. Hell, Deadpool himself says it, "It's just been miss, after miss, after miss...", but the concept isn't at fault for that.
The Deadpool Corps stuff was a fun bit, briefly mentioned by Nice pool when we first meet him, then that Chekov's gun getting paid off with the huge fight before the end. It was just there to add stakes, giving Deadpool and Wolverine *just* enough time to prevent Cassandra from destroying the multiverse. It's standard movie stuff.
"Then was shitty for a lil bit too many cameos" is not a criticism of the movie. You went in knowing it was going to deal with the void from Loki, and you should know that the void is where the TVA send all the crap they pruned. Of course you're going to get cameos. If you didn't know about the void, that's on you for not watching Loki. The characters they brought in for cameos are still characters, and so even if you don't get them (I didn't get any of them on my first watch), they're still fun to see on screen.
It's not without its flaws, of course, no movie is, but to say what you did is blatantly ignorant. I can't say which is the best Deadpool movie as that is a matter of opinion, but this one has many great moments and is far from "not a great movie".

And the cameos were great especially blade and human torch. The cameos I didn’t like was all the deadpools basically. I kno the movie makes a lot of fun but that’s just how I feel.
As a whole and seeing other marvel movies I feel none of the dead pool movies are that great. They got funny parts though. This one was def the best but it’s still not like anywhere near the greatest thing I’ve seen the way ppl talk about it.
Didn’t rly care for the script most of it was good but then this or that happens n im like ok, but then cameos and comedic relief always so it makes up for it in my eyes i can c lots ppl just over looking things cuz of everything happening.
Could have had a diff villain, but ya with lots of things happening I’ll need to watch it again at some point.
