The algorithm has me feeling so discouraged recently. I feel like my skills are improving, but my interactions are worse than ever. I’ve decided to start posting on TH-cam now too, so hopefully posting on multiple platforms, and being less ashamed of reposting and promoting my art on my socials is the way to go. Good luck to all the artists out there
These are pretty good strategies; with using the main site you use as a hub to advertise your work on other sites, especially when doing the CMYK format to distribute them as prints/books/etc. Especially with what you said about videos and reels, and diversifying what you post. The stressful thing about social media as an artist aside from advertising yourself as a content creator (some do this to sell their work like stickers) is trying to ride the waves of the algorithm. Since you can’t predict what it prefers at the time. It burns people out and makes them doubt their work. When at fault it’s mainly the algorithm. Hence why instead of worrying about manipulating the algorithm, just try the strategies of getting yourself out there. And just stick to what you draw but slowly branch out. And work on your craft only to improve yourself.
Thank you! And yeah it's definitely frustrating to deal with the algorithm. I'd like to just think that if you just keep posting and making art at a rate you're comfortable with, and if you do it consistently, something good will still come out of it in the end.
Im glad this came out. I recently graduated from college and I feel like im not making any headway with the start of my career. However, after watching this, it gave me so many wonderful ideas ^^
This entire video was EXTREMELY helpful (especially the comic related stuff!) Thank you so much for sharing all these tips, tricks and strategies. It sucks that we have to "play the game" so to speak to get any real traction on our work but alas, what can you do 🤷🏽♀️
This has seriously been SO HELPFUL. I started digital art with next to no knowledge and it really is all about figuring it out on your own even when you have went to college for it. Literally, thank you so so so much~
I feel this 100%. I am brand spanking new to the internet boss when it comes to posting my work online. I spent 1-2 years researching before kicking my butt to just start! I told myself I would have a main focus while just sharing illustrations/timelapses through the other social networks. Last thing I want to do is burn myself out trying to appease constant algorithm changes! I love seeing being the scenes stuff like this, thank you for sharing! It was very helpful 💕
Hi, love the printing part. So I have a question: I work on webtoon but I would love to print it in future, is there a method to creating comics that can be used for vertical scroll and later also printing ? I'm struggling coz webtoon is so vertical and print is very square or rectangular at best but not long strip like!! 😆
Love hearing your strategy I started posting on Instagram, tiktok, and TH-cam shorts. I post speed paints on TH-cam and tiktok and photos on Instagram ( I alternate between days for posting reels on Instagram) rn I’m getting a lot of views but no many subs, follows, likes, and comments so idk if I’m doing something wrong I am just starting from the bottom so it will take time but this was a great video thanks for sharing 🥰
Yeah the algorithms are annoying and I experience small amounts of growth. I think Harmony just added an in program option to record in 21, I know it’s a year old but it’s new to me lol. This is a lot of handy advice, also soon I will be creating my own art book and animation reel this quarter so if you can provide your experience with creating a reel for your work, that would be cool. Maybe you already did one, but I still feel like I don’t have much to market. It’s an exciting yet humbling journey this animation game isn’t it?!😅😅
I know this is a really dumb noob question, but how do you deal with drawing in CMYK when the colors are just so dull? >< I wanna make/ print comics too but it just feels discouraging seeing colors like that when you know how beautiful colors can be in RGB. >
Wait....Do you upload your artwork to IG/youtube/ect. in CMYK? I have found when I do that the color appears different, sometimes shockingly different because screens are RGB....
What if you're a veteran in the entertainment industry but a HUGE failure in social media, despite trying everything that everyone and their grandmas told you to do (from freakin' Gary V to Dan Koe)? The only pattern I've noticed is that my style is NOT cartoonish/manga-ish/cute heartwarming stuff. Seems the Neo-noir audience hides in caves...Without an internet connection.
thank you for your art tips for social media it was very helpful , I have a TH-cam channel and wanted to know how do you make a banner using photoshop that will fit for the banner on TH-cam
