Escalade meant a lot to a lot of people. He gave a lot of bigs hope that they could be taken seriously as a ball handler. The best analogy I can make is like linemen finally getting to run with the football.
I think the biggest compliment is knowing how beloved he was by his AND1 brothers. I never heard anyone say a bad thing about him. He was like every person's favorite person.
Mark jackson has a legendary voice.. like al Michaels or john madden.. he's a great coach and could potentially be a legendary one.. but the man is born to call games too
@clubshayshay man he was a great guy just good human being I’m a New Yorker who worked at footaction when and1 was blowing up and got to meet everyone.
I was three hours old when I learned that Escalde was Mark's brother. Rest in power to the brotha. So many memories back in middle school during the AND 1 era
And Escalade was a legit hooper. He played at Louisville as well. I've known they were brothers were years. Mark loved his little brother. The Professor always acknowledges Escalade as his biggest influence and says he was a great dude!
Escalade was a show and a half. He could both ball and had the personality. He had the entertainment value , and the size, to deserve the spotlight being shown on him
Nah big man liked to have way too much fun on the court lol he was playing like a guard and loved to handle the ball and act silly, he was gifted but he didn't belong on a strict NBA team system, he was all about pure entertainment. I rather watch him ball like that on the streets than playing the post game coming from the bench for a pro team
The fact that he could even move around and run up and down a basketball court for extended periods of time at that size, let alone do it with the grace and coordination he did it with is an anomaly. He would’ve been an absolute menace in the league if only he were slimmer. R.I.P
I know a few of the old And 1 players. Escalatde was soo humble and a great guy along with Future, Main Event and Air Up there. He stepped on my toe and broke my nail in Philly and it still hasn't grown back right. Lol. Great guy and true legend. Sleep well brother.
Big Esco was Mark's lil bro?!? I've hooped for 30 years and Shane gave me a nickname, been to four open runs, and 100% NEVER KNEW this. R.I.P. Big Esco, your warm attitude was infectious and you always carried yourself with class and dignity.
One of my favorite basketball players period. As a big as dude my self, I thought it was dope seeing a fat baller cause I grew up playing ball non stop

He was 6’10 with handles if Mark made it to the NBA I know for a fact if it wasn’t for them Big Mac’s Escalade would’ve had a good NBA career
