Bioshock 2 is my favourite, mostly because it primarily focuses on the gameplay, while Bioshock 1 and Infinite are more focused on storytelling and worldbuilding (nothing wrong with that). Plus, the story actually kept me engaged throughout the whole game, unlike in Infinite where I gave up on trying to follow the story half way through.
Infinite tried to be convoluted for the sake of doing so. It’s like it was written by a IaMVerYSmArT 14 year old. That said, Columbia is fantastic, the lore for it is awesome and the art direction is some of the best ever in a game and the gameplay is really solid. But it gets a lot more tight than wrong. Still love Infinite though.
2:54 I especially dislike people who use that crying-laughing emoji, trying to make someone else's point seem completely absurd when it's not. In reality, it just shows that they can't empathise with different opinions and live in an echo chamber
4:17, a little note that prey 2006 and prey 2017 aren`t even connected, they don`t take place in same universe, only thing they have in common is name, whichever people like more is another story but i personally wish i could play prey 2006 because it`s a great looking game
Bioshock is one of the best but most inconsistent franchises I've ever played. Bioshock 1 and 2 are amazing, Infinite was fun, and the DLCs were all over the place. Minervas Den was amazing, Infinites part 1 DLC was decent, and part 2 was awful.
Yeah, I agree with you on this BioShock infinite. I wouldn’t call it a bad game, but for me personally the main problem is one I did not like the story all that much and I hated the fact that they only let you carry two weapons.
I hate that it took 10 years for some to say BioShock Infinite is/was overrated. I couldnt wait to play it when it came out becaue Kevin Levine skipped part 2 to make it, but damn.... the disconnect I felt from what I played to what the reviewers at the time played was probably one of the largest I had experienced up to that point. Now, dedicated game reviewers are the sick jokes you play on kids at night, but then and earlier, you actually believed what they told you... it really sucked on more than just BioShock Infinite isnt that good. It cut deeper, but now people have learned that convaluted doesnt always mean good or smart.
Fair list. My personal list (Worst to Best games and DLC) Clash in the Clouds (So bad, only Bioshock content I refused to finish, shortly after starting) Infinite Burial at Sea: Part 2 There's Something In The Sea (ARG) Infinite Infinite Burial at Sea Part 1 Bioshock Challenge Rooms Bioshock 2 Multiplayer (and Multiplayer DLC) Bioshock 2 Story Mode Minerva's Den Bioshock 1
I've definitely always understood why Infinite is so polarizing for fans, but for me, it's my favorite in the series. Genuinely one of my favorite games of all time.
Bioshock Infinite I think is a pretty good game, the problem is that it peaks rather early, and like you said, the second half REALLY drags in places. Also, I have completed the game at least 3 times now, and I still don't fully understand the story, or god forbid, the ending.
gotta say, totally agree with Minerva's Den's position. for so long for me none of the rest of the Bioshock games or dlcs didnt reach the heights of the first one, then I finally played Minerna's Den and damn thats an amazing game, dlc or not
1. Bioshock 2. Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den 3. Bioshock 2 4. Bioshock Infinite: BAS Part 1 5. Bioshock Infinite 6. Bioshock Infinite: BAS Part 2 First one will always be my fav, because of how big of an impact it made on me when I first played it. I'm sure many people will agree. But this is a great franchise, so whatever you choose as your fav, it's still going to be a good game (except BAS P2).
Very repectable list and I understand all your placements after your explenations. I would put the list as follows: Bioshock 2 Bioskock 1 Bioshock Infinite The reason why I don't write out the DLCs as separate games is because you can't play them without the main games, though I would still place Bioshock 2 over one because I find the gameplay and controls so much better in 2. However with your way of ranking I have nothing more to add. Great list and heres hoping "Judas" will be great when it comes out!
I hate burial at sea part 2, it feels like the writers just wanted to torture Elizabeth, she goes through so much extra horrid shit so Len could be like “hey look how it all connects and also makes loads of bioshock 2s lore make way less sense” also Atlas’s voice breaking when he gets mad? Nah dude would never, he’s smart, he’s made the atlas voice his he hasn’t spoken as Fontaine for so long by the events of BaS part 2, if he’s that easy to crack basically every fucker in his revolution must’ve worked out he’s Fontaine.
Burial at sea part 2 is not only the worse in the franchise as a whole but also, a major issue is ruining Elizabeth's character because previously she was treated as someone who is smart, clever and has an idea how things work but when part 1 and part 2 are about Elizabeth killing Comstock and Booker through time and space, I find it weird that she is confused on whats happening when she is the daughter of Booker. Honestly, I feel like part 2 would be better if Elizabeth was more of a wizard, guns are powerful but the recoil is insane and used as a last resort, of course you have strong shields but your health pool is solely there to add a slight buffer for you to run away and hide for your shield and EVE to restore.

@@cannerin9578 infinite is a great and fun game for me but a worst bioshock game and i hate the fact that you have to struggle first in clash in the clouds to get all the blue ribbons kinda frustrating isn't it. I just started replaying the Trilogy yesterday! Infinite has always been my favorite, but I’ve heard great things about BioShock 2. I wasn’t a fan of 2, but we shall see how I feel coming back to it years later. 🤘
Bioshock 2 is the best for a repeat play through. If you have never played Bioshock then first is amazing. i find once you have played BS,BS2 and MD multiple times now that BS isn’t the best game and relies on its story.
I totally agree man, it really was a disappointment that Burial at Sea Part 2 was absolute trash. I honestly though Burial at Sea was a great idea but I wish the devs did better on part 2.
Bioshock 2 is the best, the plot and the story isnt that explosive like the first game, but the gameplay made me get less hedaches than in the first game. Bioshock infinite isnt Bioshock
You came to two conclusions and got both of them wrong here some how. I don't live in New york, I live on the other side of the continent in the pacific northwest. I also don't think cursing=mature.
I do agree, that Bioshock 2 has WAY better combat than any of the other ones, but the one thing that i didn't like about it was that it shoehorned its story into the established canon in a way that didn't fit. In 2, the player is constantly told about how Sophia Lamb was Andrew Ryan's biggest rival, how they were always fighting eachother over every little issue and how she was a hero to the people while Ryan was the boogey man. Except, in the first game, there is no mention or trace of her, despite her apparently being as integral to the story of rapture as Ryan is. That rubbed me the wrong way. Meanwhile, me getting to set up elaborate traps around harvest points using the little glowy tripmines gave me the happy chemical, so I was able to let it go.
