Absolutely rubbish ideology when you say ki 'placements matters only, social life and campus infrastructure doesn't'. I mean acc to you college is just a money making machine, social and mental development, what kind of person you become, what environment college provides, research facilities, alumuni network, international opportunities etc doesn't matter. Wow.
Just because the thinking like students think if they aren't placed, they haven't achieved anything.
Then you complain why we aren't among top colleges in world. We wouldn't be, if this ideology is intact.
This's the reason why we're called country of clerks.
Its very unfortunate that one of the famous platform , PW is promoting this.

Agreed... The reason why iits are Tier-1 has a lot to do with the overall growth it provides to an individual. When i came IIT Kgp, what i learnt was kaam eysa karo, ki placement lene nhi dene walo me aao. I hope your comment reaches more guys, coz i've been seeing this placement-paisa-job driven mindset in here.

.bcz in colleges me opportunities or companies tier 1 wali aati hai plcmnt dene or kafi bche place bhi hotey hai top notch companies mein ( obviously 5-10 prcnt companies hoti hai jo sirf top 7 iits, iiit hyd, nit t w s visit krti hai and vo companies baki ke iits or nits me bhi ni jati for example-HIGH FREQUENCY TRADING FIRMS(HFT) like Tower research or quadeye ) BUT US LEVEL KA PACKAGES DENE WALI COMPANIES DO VISIT THESE COLLEGES LIKE DE SHAW, UBER, AIRBNB,INTUIT, KRYPTO,COMMVAULT etc visit krti hai...or haan ye microsoft , adobe , goldman to har tier 1, tier 2 clg m jati hai so ye koi differentiator ni hua as such.....(HFTs me sirf 10-20 log place ho rhe hotey hai sabhi colleges ko milake)

tier 2 me i guess thoda level kam hojata hai like SRM ka main campus, KIIT Kalinga, Nirma uni, Jaypee noida , vit or manipal ke bache hue campus like jaipur chennai etc
