Thanks a lot! This was very easy to do and helped save me from having to return a replacement motor I bought that was rotating the wrong way. My fan blades are angled and the vent to the outside in the fan housing has a preferred direction for the air to flow, so reversing the spin was essential to it working correctly. It works perfectly now!
Had maintenance come out to replace fan, they replaced motor going in wrong direction. Had them back out today and still the same issue. Said to myself, "fine, i'll just do it myself then.." Thanks to this vid, I did. Thanks! Actually just got done cutting excess length off of the shaft too b/c the cover was hitting it causing it to spin slower. smdh.. wrong replacement motor i guess. I made it work.
I think you are the only one on here that’s making sense. I can’t get my fan to suck moisture out. I did what this guy did and although it now spins in the opposite direction, it’s still blowing air back into the room and not sucking it out. I even tried flipping the blade around. Nothing. Stupid blades are not angled… I don’t see how it would ever work.
This is right. Doesn't matter if you reverse the polarity or install the motor backwards. It doesn't matter which way it turns. It always pulls in from the center and pushes outward. Period. Our guy here didn't double check the direction the air was actually moving. I don't think the people saying it worked are being honest.
I might have grown a beard and lost my beard in this video😊
Thank you. I understand magnets and polarity but had never done this before. Your video confirmed what I needed to do.

Finally! ...the video that took me hours to find that actually worked; and was simple. MUCH thanks. :)
Thank you sir! Like the comments said...this solved my conundrum! You are so appreciated sir!
Did as you showed and it worked as expected. My old bracket was the same as in your video, 1984 vintage. Thanks much.
Perfect! Thank you, exactly what I needed.

Thank you this post was a God send!
I needed to see this thanks.
WOW EXACTLY WHAT I WAS NEEDING GREAT VIDEO.
thanks for posting this , really helped me out !!!!!!!
Thank you for info!
Thanks. I could reverse the direction
Well I want to know why it was set to the wrong direction (blow vs exhaust) to begin with? 🤔
There's literally only one variable. You really need an answer for as to how it got installed improperly?
I was not the one who originally installed the fan, so yes, I do. lol
You got nice arms bro do you hit gym daily??
Couldn't you just reverse the polarity by switching the wires around?
That only would work with dc not ac
Rotation direction of centrifugal fans do not matter. they pull air from the center and sling it outwards either way they are rotating
Oh it matters, otherwise fans would blow both directions.
@Joseph Vance Flat paddle CENTRIFUGAL fans are different. With the right casing they could blow a full 360° no mater what rotation direction

@@fitzy0008is the vent blocked?

I need this info but for the life of me I cannot see what you are doing. For very little money you can get a camera mount to show your work.
I can't take the fan off my Rotom bathroom fan, so I'll have to buy a new motor with fan.
Fart fan supreme 😊
Thank you
Thank you
