Tractor beam is a great item it breaks tear cap, is really helpful to hit shots making it beginner friendly and it’s super good if u have something that fires multiple tears like conjoined, the only situation where I might not take it is if I have homing, and even than it would really depend on my build
Like you said, R key doesn't really matter much for Tainted Isaac, but in a regular (not Greed/Greedier) run, you could use it to get a few extra boss kill marks with a good build - eg. take the polaroid and go up for the first run, then on the second run, quickly progress to get boss rush and Hush, or go fight the Beast (Reminder that progression items(Polaroid, Negative, Knife pieces, Key pieces, Dad's Note) do not count for Tainted Isaac's item limit)
Mom’s knife is great for your build because the low tear rate wouldn’t affect it has much, and the astronomical amount of dmg with it plus homing would melt bosses, you could also pick tractor beam back up for the tear rate since mom’s knife overrides its effect
Doing greedier marks with tainted characters unlock reverse cards the best one is reverse lovers unlocked by beating greedier with tainted maggy and the worst is beating greedier with tainted Lilith it just makes moms foot try to stomp on you for a floor it’s called the reverse high priestess
some bosses actually have a stat called "defense" which makes you unable to kill boss very fast. First phase of greedier has it but second one does not

Depends on the character. Certain ts like Lilith and Judas are brain-dead easy, while Cain an Eden give me aneurysms

You skipped host hat, which is explosion immunity. Since ultra greed phase 2 is all explosions, immunity would be OP.

Technically not called defense. It's referred to as boss armor by the community, armor by the wiki, and shield by the code
