Michael Jackson: 'They Don't Care About Us' Rehearsal (6/23/09) for 'This Is It' Tour (Promo Clip)

- [Full Promo Clip] Michael Jackson's June 23rd dress rehearsal performance of "They Don't Care About Us" for the "This Is It" tour. His final Staples Center rehearsal was the following night (6/24), and then he died the next day (6/25).
Also, at the end of the official clip you'll notice an eerie smile by Michael Jackson, which is more noticeable in the short clip tacked on at the end of this video (1:49).
(Side Note): Many people have wondered who's the guitarist in this clip. Many have assumed it's Jennifer Batten from Jackson's "Bad," "Dangerous," and "HIStory" tours. It turns out that it's actually Orianthi. She may previously be best known for being asked by Carrie Underwood to join her band onstage at the 2009 Grammys.

its crazy he died 2 days after this rehearsal. Man I miss him. I remember I was 8 when he died. I cried my poor little heart out. MISS YOU MICHAEL JACKSON.

privatoist the only reason he looked well on here well actually he didn’t look well he was thin and out of breath but if your talking about energy then yes this was because Michael was on a new drug that he hadn’t taken before call ephedrine (I think that’s the name) so he was only full of energy because of drugs sadly if only he wasn’t on drugs

He was badly in lain everyday after that accident, from burnibg his scalp before wayback making pepsi commercial, then he fell too in the stage whike rehearsal alot of oain i cant imagine how his everyday life.. Thats why he was very independent in very strong oain killer.. BUT IF CONRAD MURRAY DIDNT MAKE A COCKTAIL OF OAIN KILLER I THINK HE WOULDNT DIE.. That smile at the end really puts a knot in my throat every time I see this clip (from any source). I was lucky to be old enough to see Thriller when it first aired on national TV, way back. Michael was a bolt of lightning. Nothing but love in his heart, to the extent people found peculiar. We all have our issues, even if we like to think we're near perfect or not as flawed. Being human is a flaw under the microscope of perfection, but we can also be beautiful with flaws and all.
So sad he's gone. I felt like he was the last living super star that promoted pure love for all living things. No one today, on stage, does it the way he did it. Stars today care more about their own image in the spot light than anything else.
R.I.P. to the King of Pop. We'll never forget you.

Well-said. Michael was just so different and eccentric. He was not like other stars. He made songs because he loved music and he wanted to entertain people and help those in need. The media used that against him. They could not understand him so they tried to ruin him. Despite all that he was not a douchebag to the paps or the media. Stars today have so much ego. All they care about is fame, money, glory. They perform on stage because of their ego not because they want to entertain the audience.
The smile at the end of this clip is PRICELESS. He looked as if it was all coming back... he was at home on the stage. Our loss is heavens gain. Love you MJ R.I.P.

When I saw this in theaters and saw that smile at the end I almost cried. He was so happy to be back on stage.
His smile at the end brings me to tears every time I watch this. You can just see the happiness in his face and it hurts my heart to know I won't see him smiling again. He seemed so full of life in the movie. He was ready for the shows he had lined up and then he was so suddenly taken from us. I feel so blessed to have lived to see such a 'true performer' and a lovely human being. No one will ever or can ever touch people on a global scale as he did. RIP MJ God bless you. x X x
