I own one. The neck is very good. The pickup is adequate. Acoustically, it lacks more than a little low end. I have other guitars; one is very much "superior" but I can't get along with that one somehow. This Epi is basic, no tuner, changing the battery is a pain, don't even like the colour, but I like it and can't really say why.

:-) If this was a ruse to get people sniffing their guitars, I fell for it! My HB Pro doesn't have a weird smell. I hope yours is OK.

Pickups are by Shadow. Shadow E Performer pre amp and Shadow Nanoflex undersaddle pickup. Controls are on the bass side, upper bout of the body and not on the soundhole. Pickups not by Fishman. The cons of this review are the wrong info provided. Please research your info before you post it.

@@markharwood7573 oh yeah? So you are not aware of current specs? Cross reference the release date if the video for the current specs. We are talking about current at the time of the video. I mean who is stupid enough to look at a video released in say 2008 for an instrument made a decade earlier? Specs change. And at the time of the video's release it has Shaddow pre and undersaddles. You better have better info and resesrch before you post. And oh...there has been more than 2 versions of this guitar.

​​@@markharwood7573Man if you care to watch the video hefore running your mouth you will see that at around 2:35 of the video it clearly shows a Shadow E preamp while the narrator says it is a Fishman. That's where I was coming from. 2 versions of the pro? Really? From Rosewood fingerboard, to Indian Laurel to Pau Ferro? 2 versions? C'mon man...
