I am French and I am very happy to hear Dimash singing in French. His pronunciation is not perfect (but not bad), but it is not important.
And if you consider that they only had a couple of days to rehearse, then this is not just brilliant, it is unreal! Dimash is incomprehensible!🥰
Don’t worry about rehearsing!! Opera singers drop in on each other other all the time, even full roles with zero rehearsals. Both are magnificent musicians. Dimash sings with unparalleled poise and elegance.

Well said. There's so much attention on Dimash's range, but to me that's nothing compared to his intelligence, authenticity, and the most beautiful tone I too have ever heard, that could only be produced by a person that beautiful on the inside.

The video where Placido meets Dimash for the first time is the cutest thing. Placido's enthusiasm of recognizing Dimash because of his grandson and Dimash's embarrassment yet pleasure to be recognized. He said an interview he's been a fan his whole life and had his CD at 5 years old. Of course hearing Dimash sing was spoken, and I think the talk of duet was probably put into motion. Great reaction William. Most of us opera fans who are Dimash fans were also brought to tears too.

DIMASH said it had been since childhood one of his deepest desires to have the opportunity to sing with the "MAESTRO" Placido Domingo. It would have been wonderful if only for one night it could have been "THE FOUR TENORS." But it wasn't to be.
The only thing missing about this performance was an audience to get to experience a once in a lifetime performance. (Besides the panel & orchestra, that is.)

I've watched it a few times! Really beautiful singing from both. The high b flats from Dimash are so technically skilled. Lots of bite to them but not a hint of strain. This man is a miracle.
Placido Domingo, born Jan. 21, 1941 and Dimash, born May 24, 1994 singing this classic duet on December 10, 2023. So there's 53 years between them, let that sink in for a moment. Placido's voice is still wonderful at age 82 in this clip.
I think it’s not so very unusual that a man of his age can still sing. Corelli, Lauri-Volpi, Alfredo Kraus, Gedda all could. And they could still sing high notes? Where are Domingo’s?
I had my emotional meltdown yesterday when I heard it for the very first time too. I grew up with Domingo when I was a child and teenager and to see him singing a duet with my favorite singer now… magnificent!

But Bizet is definitely not my favorite composer, even with Les pêcheurs de perles or Carmen... So, the next time, Dimash could play Don Giovanni or Papageno as a baritone... Why not ?

I love Dimash singing Opera, though I'm absolutely not into it😅. Isn't it amazing how he brings us to new music all the time? Now I find myself watching Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli sing this piece from 10 years ago.
I can feel Dimashs excitement to achieve his childhood dream. And he sounds absolutely amazing! Honestly I dreamed about him singing something in completely baritone range and yet he amazed me so much. Rich and like silk his voice besides Placido didn't stand back one bit. They had mics but I believe Dimash can be powerful as Placido and could fill this place like an Opera singer. It was to short 😂 i need more.
