The fact he literally had to be brought back from the brink of death earlier in the day and was able to play such an iconic show at night speaks volumes to the passion and talent he had.

Or so Courtney Love told _Heavier Than Heaven_ author Charles Cross, who took her word for it and published her uncorroborated anecdote as if it were a fact in his book. Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't, I have no idea. All I'm saying is that when Courtney Love is the sole source of a claim, some skepticism is warranted.
@P. Kerr -- I think she claimed to have "straddled" his body, as in jumping on top of him fully clothed, not outright f*cking his corpse. But yes, I also think it's likely another example of her histrionic and self-serving exaggerations. Lots of narratives in that book that made me roll my eyes.
Footage like this, from a show that you went to decades earlier, is kind of like a time machine. I am remembering getting in line hours before the show, when it was still sunny outside; meeting a girl in line that I’d go on to date for the rest of 1993; getting a spot right up front, but getting crushed as soon as Nirvana started playing; retreating all the way to the back of the hall in a panic; bumping into MTV’s Kennedy while retreating; seeing Lee Renaldo from Sonic Youth enjoying the show with his son. This is a legendary show. And, for me, it was life-changing. Six weeks later, I moved to NYC.

Yep. Milk it isn't rare on the US In Utero tour - they played it at every single show IIRC - but, this is the only pro-shot footage of it. There's a short clip of them soundchecking it in Brazil in January '93, but it's only a few seconds sadly.

@Cory Thompson Yes, those do exist - I have one, myself. It comes in Sonic Blue and Fiesta Red. Fact: Kurt's official Jag-Stang in Fiesta Red, with all of his final mods and specs for the prototype (the blue one), sold at auction sometime last year for between £40,000 and £60,000. Or so I heard. Some lucky punk is out there with it in his collection, I bet.

Since his were built in Japan, Fugijen used very different colors from what Fender uses
They used the same nomenclature but it was night and day from Fender colors
I can't imagine how frustrating it must have been for someone like Cobain to try to make fun of/ruin guitar solos but still ending up doing something that works great for the song, some sort of king Midas of music

Wow Milk it is so wicked here... I love when he stomps on the distortion! and that guitar “solo” is so next level lol people probably thought he was having a stroke. As a New Yorker I’ve been waiting 15 years to see this and I love that Nirvana gave our city the debut of many In Utero songs and then soon after the unplugged show. They didn’t perform frequently here but had some important moments, like meeting Iggy Pop and Sonic Youth at the Pyramid show as well as the Sub Pop In Bloom video which must have been the same visit. Maybe a gift in return for having really good dope who could say why...
Also since I will have at least something in common with those watching this... does anyone in the NYC area want to start a band? I sing and play guitar. Especially looking for drummers who have a place to practice. I’m an Aquarius, 27, very open-minded, love to have fun, and easy to get along with! God, Milk it is so raw. I can't even imagine how he must have been feeling. What I wouldn't give for a chat with that man. I wish he'd met just one genuine person who loved and appreciated him and was able to make him feel okay about himself.

I remember sneaking our way into this show with fake NMS badges we created from my roommate's original. They'd just started using holograms but we figured how hard are they gonna look so we just bought some hologram stickies and laminated them up! I can't beleive how good Kurt's voice sounds! One of the best performances I've seen over there years here on YT.
I have waited my whole life to see ANY footage from this show. By far my favorite Nirvana show and first of many boots. Thank you for this and your channel. I have spent many late nights reliving my awkward and angst filled teenage years where Nirvana was my soundtrack . Cheers and Happy New Year

Yeah it's not that big of a deal. I did heroin for about 4 years and overdosed several times. Once you're back up from it you're ready to do another shot and keep on rocking. As sick as it sounds

Overdosed a few times myself and while everyone else would be freaking out around me trying to get me to stay at a hospital or in bed recovering I'd be back at work or whatever just a few hours later like nothing happened. And the cycle would continue...

But that he overdosed on heroin, got revived from near death, and then went and did a show is probably a good representation of what he meant in his suicide note about how playing shows had basically become like “punching in.” The passion was gone, it was just part of the routine. Not like he even wanted to go on tours anymore. He was basically made to by the record company.
