It's even more crazy to find this and never less it talk about Songgok Spur. My grandfather served there and you can see him at 25.51 secs as he is the man with his leg up and a green beret. So crazy that even when my mother watched it she was blown away by seeing a photo of him….. Thank you again.

They haven't sacrifice for nothing. Always their intention was just to rule the World. Britain Canada and Australia has always been the part of America's war machine. Leo Major did not just go to scout. He and his platoon held the enemy back, wave after wave and kept the position. Seeing the impact on Mr. Ferris of observing the net result of his and his comrade's sacrifice is touching. He revels in the fact that through his courage the Korean people have made the best of it.
He mentions Leo Majore at Hill 355. He was a character, a hero in two wars and won a DCM in each. Lost an eye to a phosphorous grenade but stayed to the end.
Dude I am so glad you knew. He was the ultimate Chad for sure. The guy captured 93 German soldiers by himself and later quite literally liberated a town single handed. The only human that Chuck Norris might fear to take on lol

I get very angry when I hear certain American and European commentators suggesting that Canada doesn't pull it's weight, if you want proof of our nation's efforts watch every war documentary from ww1 to Afghanistan and Iraq and listen for how many times the words "Canadian" and "Spearhead" are used together, Canadian soldiers give until it hurts ...........
Very good documentary.... My father served with the 1st Battalion of the Royal 22nd Regiment in Korea from April 1952 to March of 1953. He was a 22 year old sergeant when he arrived and turned 23 on June 1st 1952. On the night of June 22nd he was on a night patrol with about 25 men to capture enemy combatants, a common strategy in Korea that was criticized in after action reports. Their patrol was provided with a new innovation supplied by the US Marines... Flack Jackets. It was the first time these jackets were ever worn by Canadian troops, and for the entire Korean war they typically fought without Flack Jackets. During this patrol they encountered a large force of enemy combatants and a firefight ensued with grenades eventually being used to repel the enemy... They lost 1 man killed, who's body was recovered because my wounded father wouldn't let them take him away, until they brought his dead Canadian Chinese interpreter as well... 2 men were listed as missing. One was captured by the North Korean's and the other is still listed to this day as MIA... The man who was captured complained that the patrol left him behind... But my father didn't leave his companion behind. After action reports stated that the Flack Jackets proved useful... And they obviously did and saved my father who was wounded in the leg by shrapnel, while his interpreter was struck in the head and died.
My dad was a Marine reservist called up to serve with the 11th Marines of the 1st Marine Division. I served in the 1st MarDiv during Vietnam and my brother served in it during the First Gulf War

China never cares who is in charge of the peninsula, but the Westerners approaching our borders again reminds us of many painful memories. Imagine how would you feel if China came all the way to Cuba? The USSR would go crazy if it just dropped a nuclear bomb in Cuba. What if China sent hundreds of thousands of troops to Cuba? The Japanese understood hundreds of years ago that to invade China, they had to start by invading the Korean Peninsula. We have sacrificed too many people on this land.

Your neighbor has the upper hand at first, until his bully brother calls a well-known bully to help. They open fire there, and the bullets are about to hit your yard. What would you do at this time? @@亦先汪 Like it or not precursors to war vary in many different ways. For the US it’s simple all you have to do is see if they are shortening basic training, that’s it. But mobilization of troops on foreign soil, that is basically a declaration. China does this constantly with their Navy harassing the Philippines and Japan. Russia does this with their Air Force and Their Navy. North Korea fires a ICBM every once in awhile. People seem to forget that the Americans in Korea fought side by side with South Koreans. It wasn’t American imperialism, it was America politics. The west will never be total allies with Russia or China because their values and motivations are different. So we do what we can.
if anyone know of a soldier by the name DONALD KINSELLA my garte uncle was in koirea war in 1953 and was discharged in 1953... if any remaining soldiers have any info on him... he was a canadian korea soldier... he was wounded and hit with shrapnel all i know.. cant find any info on my grate uncle... if any remaining Koren Canadian solders herd of DONALD KINSELLA or fought with him let me know... he was irish i believe ,, irish or abgiginal.. as my grandfauther his brother was irish Archinal mixed..

My family on my moms side I think her Uncle, served and was filled with lead by the Koreans and dies after the war.

I remember watching this on TV. Norm Christie is excellent. He did many documentaries about WWII as well.
