It has to nothing to do with their hatred toward their colonial ruler. But rather with the the clash of ideologies which had overwhelmed post-ww2 20th century that, not only Korea, but the entire world had succumbed to. You really should be thanking your geography rather than your incompetent leaders.(Magsaysay aside) Cause if you had shared your borders with the two most powerful communist countries in the world like Korea did back then, chances are, same tragedy would have befallen to your country. NPA has managed to infiltrate into the most esteemed institutions in your country and to recruit the brightest minds of your country from inside out, in 21st century. Just imagine what they could have done back in 20th century if they had means to draw direct and physical support from their “comrades”.
@@thomasaquinas354 geography doesn’t cause the clash of ideologies, the leaders do 🙄 Doesn’t matter where you live or where your boarders are, the governments/leaders/rulers cause the issues regarding those boarders !
@@rnupnorthbrrrsm6123 Except it does. Vast majority of proxy wars had taken places in the buffer state between two rivaling countries/ ideologies. Korea, Cyprus, Vietnam, and most recently, Ukraine, you name it. When North Koreans commies invaded South Korea on June 25th of 1950, they were led by hundreds of Soviet-made tanks which were unostentatiously smuggled into the country just few days prior to the attack. On November 25th of 1950, when UN force had pushed commies all the way back to the Korea-Chinese border and was on the verge of reunifying Korean peninsula, Chinese commies crossed the border and joined in aid of North Koreans, eventually resulting in the stalemate state which is continued till these days. Both of these tragedies obviously would have not happened if they had not shared borders with the commies. Sure, incompetent and war-mongering leaders often do drag one's nation into the conflicts which could have been avoided. But certain countries in certain times are just destined to suffer the consequence of war without having anything to do with it.
@@thomasaquinas354 I guess I don’t get your point and you don’t get mine 🤷🏼♀️ My point is……boarders/geography/meaning the land itself where we live does not cause war/conflict, it’s people that do ! You say yourself that “both of these tragedies obviously would not have happened if they had not shared boarders with commies” Commies (people) crossed the boarder (land). Geography itself doesn’t cause it, it’s the people who rule over that geography 😏
@@rnupnorthbrrrsm6123 Of course it is an axiomatic truth that people are the one who cause problem. That is the basic premise when one discusses about the war, ergo, no need to state the obvious. Geography, in my context, obviously means one’s physical proximity and access to so-called “bad apples”. Refrain from reading out of context, it is a bad habit.

"Crash landing on you" was so heart wrenching to watch even if it's just a movie they show a lot of true condition that happens in North Korea my tears can't stop rolling watching that movie
I lost it when I saw the family on the bus crying. So heartbreaking. 😭
Let's pray for a peaceful unification on the Korean peninsula. While governments sabre rattle, the people on both sides of the border suffer. The people want change and their reapective governments should give it to them.
I would love to see what the North Korean people could accomplish with freedom...who knows what great minds, that are now being repressed, could then achieve without the brainwashing of their government...
It is more than sad that the same country is divided and not reconciled because of politics and war. It breaks my heart to see those old people on the bus crying wishing to see and reunite with their love ones, you can see in their eyes the great longing and grief. 💔😭 I hope and pray that all the people from North Korea will not suffer from starvation and they will have plenty of food to eat. I also pray that all the relatives and friend's who have been separated from each other will meet again. God is good..they will be able to reunite with their loved ones soon. 🕊️🤍🙏
O God...he kept his mom rice containers...😢hope she sees from heaven he can fully fill them up .
Even though i knew the story .... I was moved with the story projection of the video... 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Seeing Old people cry just breaks my heart
Jiyhyun’s story is absolutely heartbreaking. I hope she finds happiness.
*All this situation is absolutely heartbreaking*
So heartbreaking to see a nk leader put all this resources to weapons then feeding and stabilizing its country with compassion and humanely.🙏🙏😞
It really a very sad story.
I like to share, "my father was one of the Philippine soldiers fought, to help South Korea against North Korea."
South Korea enjoy their FREEDOM ...💖
Those reunion buses really broke my heart🥺
Watching this documentary makes me think twice and thankful what I had and where I'm
It's really heartbreaking to see family separated.
💔💔💔💔💔💔
Very good documentary! Kudos to those that helped compile this..Well done 👍 awesome work!
It's crazy how lucky you feel to not have been born there sometimes.
The struggle power can steal the joy from your life. Instead of see the beauty in life and love🙏🏻May things prosper for both countries and the world❤️
No wall ever built stood forever.
Greetings from Germany.
Well this one seems forever unlike your country...
@@epahyop6877 a lot can happen between now and forever.

with China becoming more authoritarian and the Hong Kong crisis and the threats to Taiwan this scenario will only become worse. NK has a free pass for now.
Imagine living your entire life inside a box that even writing, music & other form of art is controlled by one family & group alone .
So sad, I wish they could have Peace!🙏🏽 The two of them smiling at the end just seemed very genuine. Obviously I don’t know for sure, but I’m just saying it looks so nice the 2 looking each other in the eye with respect and smiling and inviting each other over to one side, then to the other side, it seems so genuine, it’s a damn shame!😞
I hope this monarchical regime stops one day so this good souls will experience freedom. When I heard the north Korean lady talk about how she first experienced happiness within o felt sad. She's been through a lot. Happy she and her son found a way out
Hoping one day people of the north korea have a freedom to go their neighbor place,to see thier relatives and family to have a unity because life is amazing to live in this world freely❤️❤️
God, if I could use my last breath to help this people, I would. I wish I could, I would without a second thought
You can...Keep an eye on the democratic party wherever you live !
I pray someday there is hope, harmony, peace and freedom of that country.
Automobile and electronic products are not only popular in world now K-pop and TV series, K- cosmetic, now Korean food is getting popular in the world. You can buy Kimchee and bibigo mandu at US super markets in suburban cities. Power of South Korea 🇰🇷
really hope that one day..i will see this reunification in my lifetime!
So painful to see the reunion part. So touching...atleast every month they must organise reunions as their is no other way to contact their families on the other side of the border..
I've never known the feeling of being lived in a totalitarian country...until I watched the handmaid's tale
Good to know the history of these feuding neighbors. Same country with different Idealism and political aspiration.
Living in an area and knowing so many Korean people, I cant imagine for a second they would be happy in a place like North Korea.
I wish the world will come together and rescue and save the North Korean people from the tyrant.
Both sides younger generations wants to be reunited again... But because of the relationship that was destroyed between the rulers of both sides, I can only hope people in my generation can help maybe patch things up. With the lack of cooperation, it's no wonder the relationship wasn't built properly. If the younger generation chickens out as well, then I could say that this will remain throughout history( yes it's not easy as it seems pls don't come after me)
Such a powerful documentary
May the North Korean people get freedom from the horrible reign of this family.
I feel sad for the true victims of this war, the people.
Loved ones should not be separated like this period
Don't call them defectors. They're freedom fighters. Liberators. Incredibly brave. Defector makes it sound like they've done something wrong. The meaning of defector is someone who's abandoned their country. They didnt abandon, they escaped for a damn good reason.
31:24 my heart broke and eyes full of sorrow and tears.
the reunion is vert emotional
every person who is so obsessed with Kdrama's and Kpop or K- entertainment industry in general needs to see this. They need to realize the sacrifices and pain these people go every day. God give them strength. May they get peace as soon as possible.
I rlly dont understand why yall always have to bring kpop and kdrama when it comes to the conflict between nk and sk. Yall be "korea isnt only abt kpop and kdrama" but then would bring up kpop and kdrama when its abt the political state of separated countries. Its just unnecessary. like why r yall so desperate to make korean entertainment so political? I dont see yall saying this to any other type of foreign media. Coz like u dont see weirdos like u telling anime fans "go and see what japan did when they were colonizers" 💀
That’s South Korea’s entertainment industry which is booming and only in the last 10 or so years has it really been recognised in the west, it has nothing to do with the conflict between north and south.. it’s like saying all you who love Samsung phones have to see this…
Sorry but I just don’t get your point
Kdrama is a testament to the success of the Free South when compared with the Socialist North…it’s a good thing
This is so hard. Having your family separated from you. My heart breaks for this hopeless situation
Pray for the unification of North and South Korea..... Pray for all those families who has fallen apart from this war !!! Let the peace prevail on every part of world !!
That bus scene teared me up tf.
This is so heart wrenching, how could a human cause so much pain and suffering???
Kim and his regime are pure evil and will stand before the lord one day and answer, he’ll awaits each one of them !!!!!!!
Pray for the people of North Korea and for their country to be freed 🙏🏻
Amen
Yes , i know someday N.Koreans will be free from all of this The Lord has heard their cry someday they will be free , no more suffering
My heart hurts for the people of the north and those whom have had to leave their families with no communication.
Thankyou so much to this kind of documentary this make me inspiring me, when i grow up i will going to be a journalist and make kind of videos like this
I enjoy seeing kids educating themselves rather than playing video games all day. Good for you kid. Work hard and you can do anything…
That old lady on the wheel hair and her sister waving from the bus broke my heart.
this brought me to tears
praying for your unifications...one day you'll get there..... i had tears watching that old man's rice
bowl and he's mother's memories o it..
Whether they have their own country apart from SK or not, i hope the people of NK could live happily and a better life
This really really makes me so heartbroken that people struggle with life this badly😢
The thumbnail says it all 💔 heartbreaking 😓
I regret watching such stories😢 it's heart wrenching 😭, but satisfying curiousities at the same time learning the other side of this world's nations' plight ...
How lucky those people were who didn't chose to go to North at that time and stayed in South Korea ..and no one but only people from North Korea can free themselves from that hell...I hope in this life I can see north korea's freedom
I was there, in South korea and I Saw the family gathering between North and South, am crying that time because my haraboji(grandpa) cant stop crying when they have to separated again, miss to see they are living in freedom❤
its so horrible to witness all that via the medias how come nothing has been done already to stop all this madness and put that man into prison
What do you expect to be done? Another war?
@sneksnekitsasnek war would be catastrophic given how North Korea and its ally Chin have nuclear weapons
Because China and Russia back North Korea. The west can't go to war with North Korea without starting a world war.
Don’t worry, America is heading in that direction as well at the helm of the puppet administration of Biden controlled in the background by the communist Barack Obama.👍🏻 War won’t be necessary when soon the super power America will also become a communist nation.
@@jilianemorales2074 Well said....The EVIL is been moving forward for decades !

I'm from the Philippines and we are also one of the victims of WW2 but we already moved on. Thank you for the leaders who didn't instill our minds the hatred over the Japanese and american people. I pray that the People of north Korea will soon experience freedom front he regime.
@@thomasaquinas354 geography doesn’t cause the clash of ideologies, the leaders do 🙄
Doesn’t matter where you live or where your boarders are, the governments/leaders/rulers cause the issues regarding those boarders !
@@thomasaquinas354 I guess I don’t get your point and you don’t get mine 🤷🏼♀️
My point is……boarders/geography/meaning the land itself where we live does not cause war/conflict, it’s people that do !
You say yourself that “both of these tragedies obviously would not have happened if they had not shared boarders with commies”
Commies (people) crossed the boarder (land).
If Kim unified the North and South throu peace, and grace, he would become a "god" to the people of both sides. He would still be able to have pretty much anything he wanted. I know there's alot more to it.
That's a dream that'll never happen
He literally starves his own people.
The exact reason war happened because he thought of himself as a "god"
Watching these videos definitely remind me how blessed I am in life. While, yes I have my own struggles/faults, having freedom is more than what some countries have.
We hope Someday the korea are unified as One
