- We picked up Gideon on our way home from the hospital, We we’re excited about him meeting his sister for the first time, but his response wasn’t quite what we expected!😂

I love that Joy wore her pj's home from the hospital and there was no fuss about needing to wear the "right outfit" or anything. I love the practicality of that.

I’m the same age/generation as your parents and I remember my oldest son meeting his brother for the first time. My oldest was staying with his grandparents while I was in the hospital so when he met his brother he was so over-stimulated and exhausted from his schedule being interrupted that it took his Dad and I some time to get him calmed down and back in the swing of things just like Gideon did. These are the best times in life... enjoy them immensely. 🙏🏻

Our oldest son wasn’t too sure of his baby brother, who cried 24/7 right from the get go. After about a week of listening to him, asked us “when are you taking him back?”.🤣🤣🤣

That happened to our two eldest grandkids their brother screamed all night and was fussy during the day they went up to their mom and said he's broken let's get a new one .We laugh about it now but not at the time incase they really didn't want him but it straightened its self out .
My cousin was the same with his little sister. She cried all the time so he asked if they could take her back. Then by the time I came around he would hold me and bounce me like his mom did with his sister. Super cute in old videos.

How precious. Evy seems like such a calm baby🥰🥰🥰🥰 My kids all screamed the car rides home from the hospital, it was rough!! Gideon I’m sure is the best big brother!!! Mine took a little time to adjust, but once they warmed up, they couldn’t get enough of the baby snuggles. We have 5 and done, but I wished we kept going. Had 4 girls and our last was a boy. And that your husband has his family too, that can help as well as yours!!! You are truly blessed to have some a big family that can help as well!!!! Congrats again to you guys!!

My daughter was barely over 2 when her brother was born and she cried for the first like 2-3 days after bro came home. She was scared of him! She had never heard anyone crying like that so she just was shocked. I've never seen any sibling do really well when the baby comes home so don't be surprised 😂
My mom said all of us did well with new siblings. There are 4 of us and no one was older than 2 1/2 when a new sibling came home lol.
You were lucky. My daughter was 22 months when I brought her brother home. She took one look at him and told mme to take him back.
All my boys did really well when being baby brothers home. All three are a year apart.
