today we talk about the pet sim x, and the drama currently going on with big games. they're currently taking down a lot of asset packs a lot of simlator developers use. this is def very anti-competitive. this is some of the craziest roblox drama

my friend and I have been working on a game that is heavily based around pets. They are cube pets, but we did model each of them ourselves. BIG Games is currently doing something called a *Monopoly.* Monopolies are regarded as illegal under anti-trust laws in the US, considering that BIG Games is a company, they could face legal issues if they continue.
Unfortunately, as it’s merely a Roblox game and is not stopping games outside of Roblox from using pets, I don’t believe anti-monopoly laws apply in this situation.

If people want to make a simulator with pets in it, they should make it a rectangle, All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares, therefore they (possibly) can't get DMCA'd by preston for it.

There are game where devs put in 10s of thousands of dollars and multiple months of development to release a singular update like prior extinction. But big games makes a square and slaps a meme on it or some spikes on it and boom, millions of dollars.

The concept of cubical animals and characters is nothing new and I really don't think it should be copyrighted. For example, Minecraft uses a blocky artstyle and so does Roblox, but they have different artstyles and provide different gameplay experiences, so I don't think it would be fair for either creators of those games to take legal action on each other.
I can understand taking legal action when designs of specific characters look too similar to the point where they could easily be confused for each other, but DMCAing other Roblox devs just because they use a similar cube style for their pets is simply taking it too far. I hope that Roblox takes note of these events and steps in to prevent future situations like these.
