    Your portfolio is so amazing and this video was super helpful! I just got into USC as a Communications major and really want to double in something art-related. Thank you so much for this!

    Hi Stephanie! Your drawing titled “runaway” is quite amazing. I lost my mother to domestic violence when I was 5 years old, I imagine how she felt in that so-called “relationship” is summed up quite accurately in your drawing. She could have left him anytime, but in her mind she was trapped by fear of leaving such a monster, probably hoping one day things would change. Thank you for sharing your artwork with us, I just wanted to let you know that particular piece reflected on me.

      I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. That must’ve been very hard for you❤️ thank you for taking the time to share your experience though. Your message means a lot to me. Thank you!

    Hi! Beautiful portfolio! I was wondering if you could do a full in depth video on USC's design program? I'm very curious and there's so little info online about it :( , so like what classes you take, what the program is like, etc. Thank you!

    Hi, finally a video about the USC portfolio. we, my son and I, wanted to know if you made portfolio pages or just uploaded images alone?

    Question, do the art instructor recommendations have to be professors from community college or can they be from high school? I was originally a psych student so I don't have a lot of art classes on my transcript, so I was just wondering.

    I'm applying for photography at the school art and design program as a transfer student. Do you think I have to write something for each photo or not? because I am so confused right now whether I write something for each of them for example upload the photo in a word document then leave a comment at the bottom.

      During my time at USC I was part of the freehand project, first gen student mentorship program, and AIGA (a design organization)

    Is a profile needed for every major when transferring?

    • @StephanieChanelK
      @StephanieChanelK  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it depends on the major!

    Hi! If I want to include the process for one of my art pieces on slideroom, how can I do that instead of adding different items (because there is a limit)? I thought maybe I could create a PDF with the entire process (with only images, no text) and upload that as one item?? Is that good enough???

    • @StephanieChanelK
      @StephanieChanelK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! To be completely honest, I don’t remember exactly how to do that or if you even can! (I applied 3 years ago and I had to submit several portfolios to different schools so I don’t want to give you mixed up info!) I’m sure there’s information online about how to use the slide room application which will be more accurate!

    • @StephanieChanelK

      Hi Mackenzie! There’s several photographers at Roski - studying design or Art! I recommend looking at the Art BA since it usually offers more flexibility in the classes you take

    Hi I have a question! Does design also count as like clothes. Like the creation of different patterns. Let’s say like the design of the pattern of a sock or the label or design you see on or shirt or sum kinda like at forever 21 .would that still count and could it go in a design portfolio

    • @StephanieChanelK
      @StephanieChanelK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiii! Honestly, I’m not sure and I don’t want to give you wrong info🤔 I think that for the portfolio it’s about showing your art and design creativity rather than the mastering of the technical skill. While a combination of both is the best for a great portfolio!

    Hi sorry I'm kinda dumb~~ since the slideroom thing says that we can upload 10-15 images of recent artwork completed within the last two years, does that mean it's better to upload 1 image of each artwork (15 artworks) or more than 1 pic of selected artworks (especially if they're 3D/interactive works)? Coz like, as of now, I have 8 artworks and for a few of them, submitting just 1 pic does not really give them justice LOL

    • @StephanieChanelK
      @StephanieChanelK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For my application there was only one project that I posted one more asset for - so I uploaded one image and one video to show the full scale of the project. Although I made sure that I hit the 10-15 mark with distinct projects. Think about it from their POV rather than yours. As the artist you feel so much pride that you want to show everything, but remember that the people reviewing your app are going over thousands of applications. Get to the point and add what you think will add value!

      @@StephanieChanelK Also, I have one more question - if I'm uploading a series of 5 digital collages, do I upload them separately as individual works or do I need to take 1 picture of them together and upload that 1 work?
