How the video started with him throwing the bun in the garbage before he went in the store is how it ended - except for the guy standing outside the store was in a different spot 🤔.. but i think its a cycle that he's trying to break out of
they are releasing a new album May 24 - they've released three singles from it now - Overcompensate and Next Semester are the other two
a lot of their music has to do with cycles and finding a way to break the cycle - so you guys are on it

Yea, awesome song I absolutely love these two guys, both are so freaking talented man! I’ve been with these dudes since like 2011-2012 and they still surprise me constantly.
Btw, in case y’all didn’t catch on…the dude manning the grill is Josh (the drummer) and he directed the music video… his debut at that, he killed it imo!😅😉👍
Also, if you are up for it, they have a crazy amount of awesome stuff in their catalog my dudes, it’s kinda ridiculous how many songs they have and imo the vast majority are freaking great and well worth the time to check ‘em out!

Tyler writes all of his songs how he wants his fans to interpret them. The meanings have many different forms you can perceive it to be for your own conclusions. The messages in the lyrics can be about himself or to the higher being (god). Tyler has questioned his faith in some of his songs in the past, and i feel each of his songs from the past and present has connections with him and others around him. One of many emotional songs Backslide is to me. Please react to 'Saturday', which he mentioned in this video. And follow up with their Trench era and the lore.

I love twenty one pilots so much. I think he was singing to himself …”I should’ve loved you better”. Wow. I think this album will be epic. I agree…his voice is insanely unique.
One thing that Tyler does that in my opinion makes twenty one pilots leagues above the rest is to write his songs in ways that have multiple interpretations. I mostly agree with you check this out. His goal and what he wants to do is get those buns back to Josh. But it’s not just a goal for him. It’s also a goal for his best friend his brother but he also has kids and a wife as does Josh. I think that you have to factor in self sabotage. Because he waists his buns and the storm that’s in his head is technically his fault as well. But I mean he takes a couple bites out of one of them and then tosses it. Another one he trades for lemonade which could also chlorine. My point is the buns can be whatever you want them to be they’re a goal that you have for yourself. I don't know about you guys but anytime somethings going good in my life I find myself doing stupid things to ruin it. I say that I can't help it it's just how I am but it's a lie. Truth is I don't think I'm worth any effort. Life just seems to be over my head. The thing is I've had many lines thrown to me I've wasted them all. To me this is about struggling with life while feeling that I'm not good enough get it the same time having many people who depend on me and continuously failing them. Every time I think I have problem solved I find another one. I honestly think that everyone in my life would be better off if I just weren't here. That's what this song brings up in my mind.

i feel like this song and and video do a great job representing the fear of falling back into bad habits when you've finally worked through them and maybe being worried that the people around you might give up on you if you make another mistake. the end is kinda funny how he's back at the shop but the video being kinda a loop represents what it feels like to 'backslide' and have to start over again.
