@@tardarsauce1842 Because there's a shit ton of other games to compare it to, right? Yeah, so, about that whole "state of the gaming industry" thing...
This mafia game will actually do something unseen even in gta games, not only will it take place in Europe but also allow the player to use both cars and horses (something both gta and rdr fans always wished for). I have a feeling this will be one of the greatest games of this generation. Even if it disappoints like mafia 3 (which i think won't) it will still be a very solid game.
Yeah this Mafia game will definitely be solid. I think it’ll be great! I know some people speculated that GTA6 would have horses, obviously none of us known for sure and I am not expecting that, but I think it would be a cool inclusion to the series.
I look forward to seeing the climax of the story. For those of you who don't know, in the 20s, Fascist Italy did historically notable crackdowns on the mob in strong ways. Look into "The Iron Prefect". He singlehandedly demolished the Mob in Sicily. He's directly responsible for why the Mobs fled to the States or gotten completely squashed. In other words, the climax of the games will likely take place during the massive crackdowns. I'd be genuinely shocked if not, would make for a climatic ending, being effectively on the run from the government rooting you and all your affiliates out. It'll prolly be on par with the gangs on the run from the Pinkertons in Red Dead, but on a more sophisticated level. Of course, this all depends on the writing, which Hangar 13 isn't exactly known for thus far with their one entry. Alas, I want to be optimistic and see if they learnt anything since remaking the First game.
Yeah while Mafia the Old Country I don’t doubt will tell a fantastic, engaging, emotional, powerful (in its own right) story with solid gameplay GTA6 will just be an entirely different beast on an uncomfortable level with all the intricate things that the studio will have in their engine running the game. It’ll be another game that pushes boundaries for the industry. That won’t take away what the studio here is doing for Mafia, I am so very impressed with the look of this game. I love that UE5 is powering it. I just hope all its cutscenes will be all in game and not pre rendered.

@@alonzowatson3525 also in the remake I feel like they should’ve included more of a background story for Tommy. We didn’t get to hear about his childhood life much or his family or his history prior to being a cab driver. They gave us Vito’s background in the service and how close he was to his sister and his mother and his time in prison I really felt like I could relate to him a lot. With Tommy we were just introduced to him as some drunk cab driver who was lowkey depressed…that happened to get lucky with the family…but I am glad they did show us his life after the family.
@OperationRTX yeah I kinda wanted to know a bit more about Tommy as well. But I'm glad he lived his life. Kinda like Vito Corleone. Except Vito didn't get popped on his front lawn
If they make it like Michael Corleone's story from Godfather, it will be amazing! A young guy being caught up in the mafia and then through story missions ends up becoming a respected don

The Mafia Games have always been pretty good with their deeply engaging stories but adding this kind of detail and the setting is going to put this one really over the top. I like that they're going back to a more linear style as opposed to sandbox though i'm sure there will be a way to explore outside of the game's narrative as well. I can't wait for this!

I've been calling RDR2's influence the Red Dead effect. For me, it had a slightly negative effect on how I view other games, due to its world being the most lived-in to date. And for anyone that's played it, references in other media just strike differently, like Tahiti. Tourism in Tahiti was also said to have increased after RDR2's release. There have been minor and major ways it's affected pop culture, the list is pretty long. To save time, another example is the Saints Row reboot. It feels clear they were inspired by it in small ways, and that final showdown is one of them. So I wouldn't be surprised if this game has a RDR2 feel, especially for die-hard Red Dead fans in general.
Hope we get a funny side quest in that game. Like extort or hit contract on someone who tarnished Italian culture, kinda person who first time try invented pizza with pineapples 🍕🍍 or person try to breaking pasta spaghetti
I just hope they completely redesigned the gameplay/progression in this one.. Playing Mafia 3 was like playing Tetris with better graphics, the same thing over and over and over and over again. The only thing decent in that game was the Playboy collectibles lol.
