The redressing is because he gained a place from the overtake attempt and subsequent accident. If the accident is your fault and you don’t redress you incur a penalty. Which is what Van gisbergen made happen by not taking his place back lol

@@tysonschroder9849 had no impact for Shane but pretty sure Shane thought the either the penalty would have been or or that the person in fourth places was less than 5 seconds behind this actually knocking Anton back the fourth.

My best mate was big Kev's main pit girl who organised the girls schedules and itineraries until he passed. She said while Paul was racing for the big Kev racing team he never won Bathurst which is a different beast of a race. She was spewing when he won. It was his last chance racing with a rookie, crashing the car and starting last. The only other person in Australia that had a long career with no success until the last time and against all odds was Steve Bradbury. I still laugh at that one. Aussie Aussie Aussie

the second one where whincup took the lead on the last lap was in his own words his best drive ever. that week he was mourning the loss of his father and still come out and put in an effort like that was remarkable, he later bought that car off his team to keep at his house mainly for that one race full of emotion
Also, the fact Whincup was involved in majority of these clips tells you all you need to know about him. GOAT of the mid 2000s

Not only did moztert not lead a lap all day , he and the 2nd placed nissan crashed at turn 2 early in the race

The great BOAT race almost 💪👀♥️ ... the Top 10 Shootout on Saturday should have been Yamaha Rhino's pulling a ski tube or something towing second driver while the driver has 2 hose as many cans of piss as they could in one lap ... and then out of the three drivers on the podium the one with the highest blood alcohol limit wins ... 🏆AUSSIE entertainment at it's finest that would have been ... any of the second drivers got hurt of course Greg Murphy could've always filled in for them on the day 🤣😂🤣

I live right by the Gold Coast track but still prefer to watch it on TV for full coverage, and it's here next weekend, can't wait!
Many things of note in these clips but just 2 I would like to mention. Scott MaLaughlin now in his 3rd season with Penske in Indy Cars and Shane Van Gisbergen is the guy that won the NASCAR Chicago race. Both are Kiwis (New Zealanders) and both hold multiple Supercar Championships

Number 7 is the race that's held in the streets of my home city, Adelaide, which is returning this December after a few years hiatus. For 11 years, from 1985 on it was also home to the Australian leg of the Formula One Grand Prix
What many may not realize is that this race (no 5), "Bathhurst 1000", is 1000 klms/600 miles. This is a mountain course that is extremely challenging for both the drivers, and the cars. And yet, as often is the case in that race, there is a battle for the win on the last of 161 laps.

the other component to fuel is to also save time in a pitstop, if you can put less fuel in the car it will get back onto the track faster
Ahhhh, the Goldie. I worked for my mate Ian who started the Friday night entertainment on the V8 race. I could go on and on about the Indy here but Ian was important. The raceline marquis was next to Peter Brock's. Bev was still married to him. If you don't know, they are both great people. Both have problems like everyone made harder by the attention Peter always had. One Indy, Peter was doing a signing for an hour. 3 hours later he went back to the car. Bev was literally giving milk and cookies to the line waiting to have a personal interaction with Peter. Let's recap, Peter prefered to interact with his people rather than obey team orders for 2 hours. I was security for the pit girls selling Ian's Merch. I will always treasure what I saw from a couple I'd only ever seen on TV.
SVG's 'racing style' is to bump, bump, bump, force 1/2 an overtake, then force you to either wreck your ride or concede the position. He's a dirty driver who got away with it when he was a small fish and was made untouchable when he was signed on by a big team with big pockets to engage in 'lawfare' against CAMS and other teams.
I can't wait until he tries a NASCAR drive and discovers that other drivers not only rub back, but are perfectly willing to throw down in the paddock afterwards.

Haha funny guys, it’s a matter of driving to his caliber and to exceed is to get in his face literally and don’t pussy out, do what he does. Rubbing and bumping is the name of the game they call it racing and if it puts you of your game then so be it. Haha NASCAR seriously as if this is going to scare him, this will be right up his alley whereas there’s drivers of his caliber that aren’t scared of contact.

Scotty McLaughlin Now races in the Indycar series in America . Also this weekend is Bathurst 2022 and its must see. Going to be wet weather across the 4 days. This will test team/Drivers Talents.

The reason for the penalty is that the “Shell Car” didn’t get the front wheel up past the A pillar of the “Red Bull” car .., the reason for red bull not allowing him to redress, is the shell car will get a time penalty after the race (Think it was 5 Seconds) this will have the potential for other cars to pass on the results. This will help in the championship points to be further ahead of a major rival at the end of the season.
See if you can find the post race interview of Scotty in the Volvo coming second, it’s quite funny, he drops the f boom accidentally and the whole crowd cheers

incup cutting like that is fine if you dont gain position (number 8). In the last one, Pas was trying to redress because he took the position illegally (no bump n run in Supercars).

The fuel situation happens mostly because of set times and number of pit stops, so often as you pointed out they have calculated the fuel burn etc many many laps before. Indirectly not wanting to finish with extra weight such as fuel
Redress is if you bump another driver and gain an advantage if you Redress or allow them to pass you again the driving standards people are less likely to penalise your indiscretion

Watching this has made me realise that I'm still really bitter about Newcastle 😡 wasn't fair
cutting across is fine if its caused by an accident, or avoiding an accident, and you dont gain position.
They are allocated the fuel by race control and all get same amount and fuel is tested from tank after race to make sure its not been altered
This are all road courses they do race on tracks less likely to have a problem but road courses alot of other factors
Because he didn't redress he gets penalised for it why other driver didn't go around before finish line that way he couldn't challenge
But only got away with it as meters from line otherwise they would tell other driver to pass
Or the one who was ment to redress would be told to not worry and race

Holden racing team run a very tight fuel tattic and it has hurt them far to many times
