This further proves something was wrong with that STAGE 1 GLI. This A3 Is AWD, has the same tune, has no DSG tune, yet it kept up on a roll with the N. Yet the FWD GLI with no power loss, DSG tune and the same tune lost?. Either that driver was asleep or something was up with his tune.

I already knew it was a bit weird when the Type R beat the N but the GLI couldn't on a roll when there is so many videos of stage 1 GLI vs TYPE R and all favoring the GLI. This low key confirmed it

He had integrated engineering tune This guy has unitronic, i have unitronic stage 1 tune as well with same bhp and torque… but in my base model 2013 Tiguan that weighs 3290 lbs
It's funny how close a 35k car gets to a 45k car. Let's not forget the magic word there too "TUNED". I think no launch control is snappier just by using proper pedal control. If you can kill the axel tramp, it even puts it down more. The N is extremely impressive.
@@7g6_66 he won both times look closer and the a3 isn’t sport oriented like say an s3 there for the Elantra which is significantly more money than a tuned a3 is better. Make sure you look at the cones on the roll. The N is more expensive and you get less performance and less quality.

I like the lighter weight that fwd and the LSD allows, in comparison to a full awd system. I think the EN is perfect just the way it is. Especially the manual version.

Edited, just noticed A3 vs S3 What's the difference? A Google search isn't very helpful. According to a quick search, the A3 is FWD, the S3 is AWD. If all other things are equal, the fwd should be quicker from a roll, but the S3 better off the line.
Ask the N owner, I was there to see how much faster the "N" is gonna be since I want it to be my next car. Still do but theres none available anywhere.

I'd be curious to hear feedback on the Launch Control, it seems to get beaten off the line in every comparison I've seen then quickly catches up. Is it a finicky LC or thats just because there is lots of power and only FWD ?

In my MK7.5 I notice that they left a LOT of power on the table and that a stage 1 ECU and DSG really wakes the car up. I have a pretty mild tune and the difference from stock is incredible. EDIT: I'm happy there are so many awesome cars out there for people to choose from. I'm not thrilled about current prices though and feel for anyone shopping around in this market.

Like i said the previous GLI was Not tuned i have a stage 1 APR high tq tune and a CTS inlet pipe and AF intake i raced an Elentra N and i put about 6 cars on him by the time we hit 130 ....i guarantee you that Gli was not tuned

This shows you that GLI guy was lying about him being Tuned (he was definitely Stock) because the A3 and the Gli have the same exact engine transmission and power and this guy only making 286hp with his tune which means its only an OTS tune and not a full tune because a full stage 1 tune would put it at 318 whp and 370 tq but even then he beat the Elentra N so imagine with a full APR tune what would happen
If he's going to have a tuned car, then get the Elantra tuned as well. I'm running JB4 on Map3 on my Elantra N, and is so much quicker. No way that Audi would beat it.
So far one of the best I have seen! I really wished they swapped out the four-cylinder and used the 2016 V6 Genesis motor which packed 348 horsepower with 295 torque out of a naturally aspirated V6 for the Elantra. But for the most part props to Hyundai. Hopefully they keep going strong with their N line.
Porsche does launch control the best and most logical. Just stomp on the brake and throttle... no need to go in to different modes or LC setting from the dash.

Porsche does launch control the best and most logical. Just stomp on the brake and throttle... no need to go in to different modes or LC setting from the dash.

@@mybuildcomp2k565 I believe you but that was definitely a manual. I have an A4 myself they’re quick 0-60 mph because of the Quattro Awd and launch but not that fast after. A DCT Elantra N would gap an A4. There’s a video on TH-cam go search it up Elantra N vs tuned A3. The Elantra N wins easily
