What do you all think of this cine rig base?
bonkers !
I love that you now have the option of rigging this thing up if you want a more pro setup, makes it even more versatile.
Honestly the s9 is super versatile in that way. I still wish it had fans and maybe another SD card slot, but I’ll deal haha
great rig
Thanks!
who doesn't need more girth? LOL
Great looking rig my friend
right?! hahaha
Super creative with the rig brotha.
@@ShellyBHollis thanks!
The image video quality on this thing is soo good you could justify making it into a car and it wouldn't be over kill
Absolutely! i do love the image of this little camera
I never said this but I freaking love your logo, that thing goes so hard lol
and nooooo, you used the rigid pro! why not camera foundry??
@@buddyfx7026 thanks! I am
Very fond of the logo as well. Yeah I bought something from Caleb pike before and was not a fan so I passed on them
Black Magic responded to people doing this type of thing by the Pyxis. Panasonic could just make and EVA-2.
@@joshuairwin2016 for the record I am in full support of an EVA-2 haha hell even a cube cam with PDAF. But in the meantime…
I hate that Panasonic won't even tell their customers they can expect an Eva 2 in the near future that alone might keep people from jumping to another brand.
The pyxis isn’t remotely close to this kind of set up, to be considered a response to it, in my opinion. I think what they responded to was their userbase that had been asking for a modular design long before these cine rig units existed, and the komodo x
Got inspired my the cine back and made my own version.
It’s probably 40% smaller, has a fan so no over heating, is fully modular and the ATOMOS II gives camera control.
Using off the shelf Tilta components and an 8sinn cage it’s like sub $400ish build.
That’s awesome! I may need to pictures of it 😉 sounds cool as hell
Love the little rig😅 but feels like you are doing something illegal without it being illegal👀
@@MatthewDangyou you know me…
I skipped the cine base as i'm waiting for the s1h2 and i don't think the rigid. pro base will be compatible. That's why i have a smallrig rig. No problem for new cameras and i leave some space between the cam and v-mount battery so i can use the flipout screen in multiple ways.
Definitely! I’ll be honest I’m not a huge rig person these days and so I even appreciate no cage. But I do like this set for the s9 cause of the size and the lack of an EVF
Would love to know your video settings. Looks super clean after compression.
@@dantecorbett2221 thanks! For b roll or talking head?
@@Ansonandco The B-Roll (Shot with Rig) Shots.
Good news! I had just recently put out my settings for the s9. It should be the video I posted just before this one. Honestly gives you everything I did for those shots, including the LUT
What lut did u used for the footage?
@@tommydo3020 lumix dark knight LUT that can be found in the lumix lab app
It's interesting, but really, the whole reason I shoot with Lumix cameras was to NOT have to use a rig. It's a shame that the S5IIX doesn't have CFExpress B card slots and a more affordable battery grip, and maybe a couple of 1/4-20 mount holes on the top as that would make for a really compact "rig" that could do a lot. And since I have my wish list out, it would be great if Panasonic had their own flavor of RAW (Like Nikon now has N-RAW) that could be recorded internally. (Or if they can somehow work out an agreement with BlackMagic design to allow for internal BRAW recording).
@@marin_real_estate_photography yeah I also love my s5iix cause I don’t need a rig. I think this is more about giving people options, if that makes sense. As far as RAW, you have to remember that the only reason why Nikon has N raw is cause they bought red and red’s patent. But with the GH7 have PRR, I do like having the option in flagship models
Most of problem of S9 video is cooling system. How does it solve it?
@@HUAAM-31 in theory, if someone put out a fan for the s9 you could attach it, but I’ve never had issues with heat so it’s a non issue for me
Kinda baffles me that they make a rigid pro setup for the s9 but nothing for the OG s5
I hope they are going to make some set ups for older cameras over time
Does the rig allow you to monitor your audio, because the £1500 S9 doesn't even have a headphone jack!!! And does the rig add a evf because the £1500 S9 doesn't come with one.
Does the rig add active cooling to stop the £1500 S9 from randomly shutting down when it gets too hot?
In short, does the rig stop the S9 from being a £1500 piece of crap?
@@50450720 yea it actual gives you a headphone port… with a rig like this you won’t be using an EVF. And I have never had issues with the camera overheating, even without fans…. But hey Sonys and canons overheat constantly… not to mention it’s currently a $1300 POS
@Ansonandco Really can't understand why anyone would buy the S9 over the S5iix. Size and Portability are meaningless when you see the list of features that are missing, and even at £1300 it's incredibly poor value for money. And if you have to rig it to make it usable, why not save the money and get a s5iix?
The LUT feature is one that can be added as a firmware upgrade to any of Panasonics current cameras, so again I can't grasp the attraction. (I have tried a demo model, so I've had my hands on one)
I've heard people say it hasn't overheated , but even Panasonic say, don't trust it won't happen, which again says why would you spend the money on it? (New s5iix currently £1475 if you buy imported model)
If it doesn’t make sense to you then it’s probably not the camera for you my friend. I have one and have found it to be pretty versatile for what I use it for, far from a piece of crap
