あけましておめでとう。 This year is gonna be good with new Lumix cameras, rumours are surfacing about the SH and SR new models. Looking forward to your videos ケイさん。
It took me a lot of courage to move completely from my Sony a6600 & its plethora of lenses to a Panasonic Lumix S9. And oh man I came in just in time when the major firmware update came out. I also got an insanely good deal on a 2nd hand L-Mount Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 DG DN that I found in a random Hard-Off somewhere in a suburb. With a tax free too!! And used the remaining cash for a TTArtisan 50mm f2 pancake lens.
Not gonna lie, I have always being with Panasonic and went from G7 for 6 years (my first camera) to now my "Lumix s5ii" and couldn't be happier with the evolution, the g7 have never bothered me and made lots of professional work with it, but now that I have a true professional tool "S5ii" I see the difference and convenience for the upgrade and the tool motivates me to make more amazing things! Gear does matter to a point, but the feeling of a new tool in the belt is a great chasing feeling to have!
I just bought my first camera back in December. The lumix S5 used for half the price, in perfect condition with shutter of 200. I think 🤔 in some time i will buy a sony Zv-e10 because of autofocus and small camera. But im very happy with the Lumix right now:)the reason i bought the Lumix S5, i fell in love with the cinematic soft image quality even though I know its the worst AF, but do whatever makes you happy 😊
Sony can't get close to the color science of the Lumix S5IIX. Lumix fixed the auto focus, and leads the industry in stabilization. Icing on the cake, this camera is insane for photography.
The Lumix system is probably the best bang for the buck, but I’m a bit unsure about its skin tone rendering (but I have S5II just a week). How do you deal with it? That said, the colors you can achieve look quite natural, and the dynamic range seems better than what I get with my Fujifilm X-T3. However, Fujifilm feels easier to use when it comes to making people's faces look more pleasing, and Canon offers similar results, though with a slightly warmer tone. If you have any tips for color grading video from the S5II/S5IIX to achieve great skin tones, I’m all ears!
@@tycjanjakubczykI do not shoot video as a full time job. I am absolutely not an expert on this and probably not the best guy to ask. However, I did / do shoot fashion. The 5S and now the 5IIX, IMHO give me the best result / color from a hybrid for stills and video. I was blown out of the water surprised on how good (I love) the color from stills on this camera. Neither Sony or Nikon does that for me (anymore). I have a Sigma FP also, that is even better (IMHO again) but the camera is very quirky. When I do shoot video, I usually shoot 2 to 3 minute clips. I grade everything I shoot. I shoot raw or log because it's easier to grade or work with color balance and dynamic range (for me). I use the vectorscope in Resolve and put the skin on the skin tone line. This usually improves (fixes) color balance at the same time. The 5S is the closest to start with. I do this with all of my cameras. I Have Sony, Nikon, Lumix, and Sigma FP. None of them shoot trenchantly perfect skin tones straight from the camera, in my opinion. However, I like the 5S line the best of any camera I own. I understand Fuji is best at this but I have never used one. I follow Darren Mostyn, and use his methods. He dose offer courses.
I use both brands. Sony colours are so annoying with skin tones. Plus a lot of things sony do to force you to go to a higher tier camera. With Lumix you just have a more complete package. The only thing sony is king, is AF.
You need to learn how to grade/ correct. I switched from lumix to Sony because of the superior everything over lumix. I was a cheap bastard, that’s why I had lumix to begin with
@@2424rocket I use Davinci Resolve for my weddings and other paid stuff. I just dont want to spend my time correcting skin tones. Color grading is one thing, correct skin tone is another thing.

I have no idea how people can recommend Lumix. I had a Sony a6500 and sold it to buy a Lumix S5. The switch was nice indeed, but then I made the worst mistake of my life and bought the S5II. Whether I shoot at ISO640 or 4000, in low light or daytime, the log footage is grany af
I'm between the s5iix and the xh2s, i love the fullframe sensor quality of the s5iix and the image overall, but i'm in love with the colors of the xh2s although is apsc... I'm looking for a speedbooster to use in the xh2s and gain some wide, but i don't know if the autofocus gonna be awful someone help me hahahah
I agree, Fuji has great colors, in my opinion nicer than Lumix, Sony is just way behind both. So far Fuji colors and Samsung NX colors are the nicest colors I have seen, I think the sensor plays a big role because the only Lumix camera which is close to Fuji and NX for colors is the GH6, and the GH6 has not a Sony sensor, that says a lot ... The G9II and GH7 use a similar sensor than the the GH6 but it is not exactly the same, they have good colors, better than the S5II in my opinion but not as good as the GH6. The GH6 has lower DR but something about the colors is very special.
@@slows728 The problem is the mft sensor in the gh6, I already have the pocket4k with that sensor… And i’m looking for a good hybrid camera with autofocus for doing weddings, events, vlogs. I have the a6500 but i need an upgrade, do you think the xh2s is better than the s5iix based in the colors and the final image?
@ Yes the GH6 is really not great in low light, but it has good rolling shutter and IBIS. Yes I prefer the colors of the XH2S, however the fine details are not so great in low light because it use massive noise reduction and details filter, the S5II also has worse fine details than the first S5 and S1, but the XH2S is even worse.
I'm gonna get a Sony soon but still have a Fuji X-H2 which I am pretty happy with. Used to have a GH4 which I really liked. I wouldn't actually mind trading my x-h2 for a full frame lumix actually at some point. Using the Sony is going to be interesting and different for sure.

Currently own two Lumix S9 and sold all my Sony camera gear.
Honestly super happy with my choice, Don't even miss the Sony E mount lens ecosystem.

King of what? Not king of auto focus, not King of low light, not king of anything.

At least newer cameras have better skin color now. Unless you want a full frame, the a6700 is basically a hybrid shooter all in one.
