The "Pringles" part is more of a saddle shape to me, also it rests like a saddle on the shoulders. It's Idiot o'clock in the UK so you've now got me looking up diving helmet parts.

Mushy peas are dried (for preservation) 'Marrowfat' peas, that have been steeped then slow boiled (simmered) to reconstitute. Lovely with pork pies and mint sauce. Competitions all over the UK for the best pork pie.
