  • The first plow of the season with my vintage Nuffield universal four tractor using my home engineered ATV plow on the front and an extended scraper blade on the back. I love this thing!

    I just love that big old tractor. The sound it makes while idling, is like someone clicking their fingers 🤣

    That double pass (one front & rear ploughs) looks perfect for clearing paths & driveways👌, + just love that solid old school red tractor of yours with the dark days & nights = something magical about it👍.

      Was a bit overkill for this amount of snow with the double blade but really shines once it gets to like 40cm. I'll take any excuse to play with it though 😅

    Sitting here in my tiny suburban house watching this and thinking - "you really have made it if you own your own tractor". Epic. I think if i had all the money in the world i would just buy something like that. Perfect.

    Looks like that modified grader blade is working great! That Was really great to see the wildlife, were those Roe deer? I'm wondering if you do any hunting on your place? We just finished up our firearms season for Whitetail deer here in Indiana US. My wife and I and also our daughter hunt and were able to harvest 4 deer to fill our freezer with venison for the year! Love the Chanel!

      It's really working well! Gets me out of the danger zone near the edge haha. Most people here hunt but we can't get the licence yet as I believe you need full Swedish citizenship to apply and we have another 3 years before we can get that.

  • @janhjorth965
    @janhjorth965 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seems like front plow would like a couple of horisontal skids to run On, to prevent it from digging in. You can drive on an inch of remaining snow, but you really don’t want the jolt of an object coming up through that long arm to the fron of the tractor…..but…a great rig at low cost.

    • @ash.pollard
      @ash.pollard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It actually has the normal pads on the bottom for that but i found they were just digging into the gravel too much. The plow is sprung and I drive pretty slow so is always folded over properly in the past if I've hit something. Next time should be smoother anyway, it's always a bit rough on the first go because this track doesn't see much traffic so the snow doesn't get squashed down in the middle.

    Great that everything works so well.
    How much diesel does this tractor use?

    • @ash.pollard
      @ash.pollard  ปีที่แล้ว

      According to my mum from about the age of 2 every tractor was "Tommy tractor" and I loved them 🤣 28 years later... its actually very efficient, even with it pissing diesel out half the time! I think because I only run it at low rpm and nor driving anything from the pto. A snow blower would probably eat the fuel.

      @@ash.pollard When i was young, growing up in Sweden (the 60's) and not far from where You are, those Nuffields were quite popular and you could find them everywhere. They weren't manufactured that many years but apparantly they are quite good.

  • @aaaaheahea
    @aaaaheahea ปีที่แล้ว

    You can't plow like that, you tear up all the gravel from the road, then flatten it and then put all the gravel in the ditch, you have to raise the plows so they go over the ground easily.

    • @ash.pollard
      @ash.pollard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do you mean I can't? You just watched me do it 🤣 the track was uneven and needed to be graded anyway. The middle was 40cm higher than the sides in places. Now it's flat all the way so can raise the blades onto pads

    • @aaaaheahea
      @aaaaheahea ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ash.pollard Haha I sure did, just so you know, a gravel road should be higher in the middle, almost like a pillow, because the water should drain off. We have graders out here where we live that create the shape of the road and if someone plows away the slope it costs both time and money to fix it. But you live more remote than we do, so I understand if it doesn't matter too much where you live.

    • @ash.pollard
      @ash.pollard  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea that makes sense, I notice all the roads managed by the municipality are higher in the middle. This track though gets very bad because its narrow and private. When we first came it had years of neglect and the people with a cabin at the end couldn't drive without ripping their car apart from the raised centre. The farm drives with their big machines which squeeze it up and just leave it. We get serious frost heave in the winter as well which raises it even more. Im still new to this but trying my best to keep it actually drivable😅

  • @grahamsfarmportugal2022
    @grahamsfarmportugal2022 ปีที่แล้ว

    Waste of time 🤣 he just dropped it at the end of the road. Chimney clearly wasn't that heavy. Let the quad do it's job, or maybe buy a old f250 as a plow.

    • @ash.pollard
      @ash.pollard  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well he had to get up the 1/2 km track first to get here haha
