I love that it's STILL GOOD. Like they didn't just try to freak the audience out for a laugh. They gave a completely unknown band the most hilarious and exhilarating 15 minutes ever, then it turns out it's not just them and Bill created an actually fantastic and passionate thrash song, FOR THE AUDIENCE. For them to FEEL. And to ENJOY. Even at their most venomous they are fundamentally about unconditional positivity and celebration.

I think he laughs because he run out of air. He was singing/rapping too fast and with too much effort probably because he was not used to play with a punk band often. (the guys at Extreme Noise Terror are growling but that requires a steady technique). Not because it is stupid. It is trolling, but it is serious. Extreme Noise Terror is one of the most influential bands in punk rock.
You've nailed it on all three counts, I've watched the doco 'Who killed the KLF?' over and over and the thread that flows through it is Bill's ability to 'create the myth' if you haven't seen it I thoroughly recommend it

The KLF know how to me an entrance...... hopefully they recreate that amazing collaboration with Extreme Noise Terror on The Earache Express at Glastonbury in 2017. Hopefully that stage is there for keeps!!
@John M. Not really anymore though. I wasn’t around in the early 90’s but there was this strange time in early 90’s in the U.K. where underground music popping up in the mainstream on occasions. Napalm Death performed on a show presented by Craig Charles in the 90’s. Nirvana infamously performed on Top Of The PoP’s just as they hit big. I think the reason why the early 90’s was a time when the U.K. media was somewhat okay with showing more underground music is because of the whole Rave and underground dance scene which was huge in the early 90’s in the U.K., and you also had this weird crossover between Rave music and Indie/Punk which the band EMF and their big hit Unbelievable was like a bridge or crossover between Rave/Dance music and Indie/Punk with both scenes borrowing stuff from each other, which I suppose helped create The Prodigy. But as well the U.K. media are very thick as shit when it comes to heavy or underground music, I think the U.K. media seem to think all heavy or underground music is the same and has all the same fan bases, so the U.K. media don’t have a fucking clue of what’s what.

Look at how Virgin Trains thought they could just *steal* a song by Carnifex because lmao who cares about actually licensing a deathcore song? Extreme metal in the UK was never taken seriously, even back then. It was a thing to make fun of.

I’d wager this was probably the first time Death Metal had ever appeared on TV, anywhere in the world. I mean, the first death metal bands weren’t even around until 1989, and even in 1992 it was an obscure, underground genre.

What's the story with the legality of the machine gun? Was it legal or not? I've heard it was illegal and smuggled into the venue. I certainly hope that was the case, it would make the whole thing even more epic. Long live Bill, Jimmy and ENT!

After years of being the music industry they came to hate it - they then did their own thing that became massive,, the biggest thing of their time then cancelled it, fucked off, burnt £1m and cancelled their back-catalogue... Genius 😉🙂 Now, you can get hold of the old stuff but still appreciate what they did, especially the book on how to get a number one that the Austrian band followed with/for Edelweiss🙂
Well that was a thing that happened. This was quite the anticlimax. I was expecting someone whipping a gun out, shocking gunfire and the audience freaking out. All I saw was a guy awkwardly waving a gun around waiting for his cue. Then (ironically) you couldn't hear the gunshots because of the extreme noise. It looked like he just waived the gun round a bit then ran off. You probably had to be there... Never mind. Seems like they enjoyed it, so that's nice. 😁

Ipswich legends extreme noise terror, john peel was at their gig in 88 in Ipswich, he played them alot on his show at the time.
