- It's been incredibly busy at work with 18 hour days through the weekdays and the weekends, so when there's an opportunity for a little break, let's take full advantage of this! So happy to connect with each other and let's make this moment special by going to one of the best buffets I've been to. The catch? It's in the Philippines! ...and half the fun is simply getting there!
Years ago, when I had the good fortune to work in the Philippines, I got a chance to visit a luxurious buffet that was overwhelming is size and quality in the best possible way! It was called the Medley Buffet at the @OkadaManilaIntegratedResort Casino in Manila. Back then they were just going through their soft openings and even then, it was grand! Over the top in every respect, it's the Vegas style buffet but with the grandeur, elegance, and hospitality of the Philippines! Lobster, lechon, succulent meats & carvery, and probably the largest dessert station I've encountered. Fast forward a couple of years (or five), and I can't wait so see what it's like now!

Tim comes across as a guy with a very positive and sunny disposition in life that, even in an unfortunate event his pocket gets picked, he would just shrug it off and still be smiling infectiously at everybody around him.
I can't imagine him getting angry or mad at anything or anybody. What a guy!!! 👍
I don't disagree he's a cool guy. But errr.....wouldn't someone be mental if they weren't a bit upset they got their wallet stolen??
It feels that this man is very kind and sweet. He seems to be full of gratitude. I'll be watching more of your vlogs now. I hope you can also visit The Spiral Buffet in Sofitel Hotel. That's a massive and for sure you'll love it there.

Tim, u’re so nice with your positive comment even for the dry inflight noodles n tasteless porridge, you never point out negatives and you’re really the nicest food blogger I’ve seen. Love buffets and really enjoyed yr channels full of buffet choices around the world👏👍😍
I generally don't have a lot of time to travel, so when I do, I make sure to do a little bit of homework and find great places .. the noodles and the porridge on the plane... sometimes that's all you need 😉

Reality is that Metro Manila is 90% slum. Taking a taxi from my hotel in Makati to Malati has to be the scariest experience in my life. I was mad at the driver for taking me through the slums. Then, I found out 90% of Malati was like that.

Tim, I admire your restraint when faced with all the exquisite foods. I would not have set those fine foods so artistically upon my plates. Rather I would go with the inches thick approach. Always a joy to dine with you. Best

Wow, that is insanely cheap quality buffet!!! Hundred times more selections than what we have here in Vancouver. So much seafood selections, hot and cold. That will be my number one place to go when I go back to the Philippines!!!! Thank you for sharing 😋. Enjoy your stay in the Philippines!!!!

It is quite spectacular. The buffets in Asia are a lot larger for sure.. and believe it or not, it gets better and better 😋
Vancouver is just overpriced. You can never find a good value like in the states or Asia

I only discovered your channel a couple months ago - but have been quickly going thru your Playlist. I had just this morning watched the episode at this Casino - 5 years ago! .and then tonight came across this one! My how you have changed lol! ( not a comment on your looks but on what you eat!) I think you even only had one dessert that day🤣! That looked like a Hello Fresh portion compared at the amazing amount you eat each episode now ( and I still wonder how you are not triple your size!) But even then you were well spoken and friendly - with quite proficient camera skills.

The Asian buffets in the Philippines is certainly different than in North america. Lots more food and it's quite grand. Really enjoying the time there.. met lots of new people.

Thanks for visiting Manila. 👍 I always go to Spiral ,Vikings..etc there are more good buffet to go also. But most of the time, we eat at Chinatown in Binondo for some food that I don't get here in the US.
Even outside Manila, there are places that serve good local dishes. I can not recommend any right now since I was there before the pandemic. Enjoy and keep safe.

Hi Tim. Happy Thanksgiving from Arizona. I saw an old video from Mike Chen eating at one of the best buffet in Asia and I was shocked when he said it was in Vietnam at the Nikko hotel in Ho Chi Ming City. It’s on my bucket list to go and now I like to put this place to go to as well.

The Hong Kong style pineapple-bun is very popular local food eaten by locals with milk tea.
Yqw, Tim...funny thing is, I was thinking the same thing 😂...depending on what style of buffet it is and how much it is....I always choose the same dish and mostly the seafood to get my $$$ worth 😉

I was one on a million of workers in that okada built it, unfortunate we dont have credit after end contract but still happy , many encourage it and used to it 👍
