- Hi guys, I made this video because I found that many people find it difficult to align small parts... This is just a cheap and quick method, designed for those who don't want to waste time, however it gives good results!

Good idea to use circlips. However, I don’t have a collection of spring rings as yours 😂 I often use two parallels. Thanks for sharing

The bearing rolling and aligning the stock was a nice trick. Don't do much manual lathe work anymore. More Cnc, I have many soft jaws and stops that fit in my chucks.
You can get soft jaws for manual lathe chucks. All of these 'simple tricks' are redundant with a set of soft jaws

You could also use two parallels as well. There are lathe chuck "parallels" that looks like a three winged propeller, that have magnets in them. Or get some machinable jaws and machine a step in them. Depends on the part, but you could push a material against the jaws, with the live center as well.
Hi, I actually made this video thinking of those who have lathes as a hobby and don't want to spend money to make just one detail... Parallel bars are not good when you have to turn plastic materials with a small section! Soft jaws are great, but I've seen hobbyists rarely buy them.
@@newtech5042 I use the parallels just to setup, and then I remove them. I agree, it wouldn't work great for soft and thin materials, but for hard materials would work great. Usually I use an indicator to align stuff. I'm not a hobbyist, but I have a mini lathe and mini lathe at home.

О выточках на кулачках пишут те кто изготавливают зевесы (петли это смотря из какого Вы колхоза) для гаражных ворот ))), Кто украл на заводе, параходе несколько патронов и комплектов кулачков, а для Тех кто занимается, мелкими деталями и покупает заготовки за "свои", как раз самое То! Я правильно понимаю, что в СССР жили дебилы я о инженерах тире копирайторах они не смогли дополнить патроны дополнительными кулачками, или швейцарские не до дебилы, с немцами, англичанами?
Или китайцы в том же вагоне дебилов без проточенных кулачков?
Человек придумал супер дешёвый способ, а вы изготовители петель или завесов, как там у Вас правильно.... Напизд#ли станков, оснастки, теперь рассказывают, как жить...

I’ve been using that first example for over 50 years, but you don’t need a roller. Just offer up the back end of, say, a turning tool or a steel block, even for second operation work. The circlip method is pretty nifty too.

Проще сделать не глубокие выточки в начале кулачков. Деталь легко устанавливается . Без дополнительной центровки .
Они же импортные им этого не понять.

If you don't have snap rings try some rebar tie wire or mechanics wire or solid copper wire. Wrap it around the part to get the right size and shape then trim the ends.
Great idea but I wonder how much less of material you can actually clamp without a part flying out?

The roller look dangerous. You should not leave the work so loose that it will move. Ever considered a set of parallels when setting up. ( don't forget to remove them before starting lathe).

The most important thing, however, is that the use of parallel bars can be fine when you work on metal pieces, but it's absolutely not good when you work on plastic materials with a small section...
you don't leave it so loose that it will fly out, many people have forgotten to remove parallel bars that is more dangerous

чтобы так не мучаться нужно иметь комплект кулачков с проточкой для наружного и внутреннего зажима тонких деталей. а стопорное кольцо в пазы кулачков сомнительная идея, они не идеально проточены.
Привет, вы правы... Я сделал это видео только для того, чтобы помочь тем, кому приходится обрабатывать короткие детали без особой точности, а также для тех, кому нужно изготовить только одну деталь и не хочет покупать мягкие губки! ;)

Hi, honestly I use the 3-jaw chuck and I get high precision, I work up to 0.01 mm...
The 4-jaw self-centering chuck can be used for square bars or other particular jobs, I say this from experience! The 4 independent jaws, on the other hand, are excellent for irregularly shaped parts or polygons, but require some time for centering using a dial gauge.

Ich klemme einfach ein Stück geschliffenes Flachmaterial zwischen Drehfutteroberfläche und Werkstück (nach dem Ausrichten rausnehmen!).
Hallo, was du schreibst, wäre richtig, wenn du Metallteile drehen möchtest... aber Kunststoffmaterialien, insbesondere bei kleinen Abschnitten, verrutschen oder verformen sich! Dafür brauchen Sie eine Unterstützung im Rücken!
