    I love what you've done! It takes a lot of heart and courage to be a home-schooling mom and managing a household. Good for you!

    You're very organized and smart. I'm a wife, and mother of a 3 year old. Never had a filing cabinet and my bills/paperwork are all over the house. I'm looking at ways to organize our lives. I am a stay at home mom for the last year. I worked in the medical field the first 2 years of my son's life. Thank you for this information.

    Thanks for sharing these ideas!
    I have 4 kids and homeschooled for 10yrs. I too found myself floundering once our journey of homeschooling ended (my oldest is 28 & my youngest is 20).
    I couldn't really put a finger on it for awhile but, then realized I needed to create a "new normal" for myself... Lately I've been realizing it's time to get myself (and home) back on track with a schedule. Coming across your video has been confirmation as to what God has been stirring up inside me! Looks like I'll be recycling an old homeschooling binder or two!
    Thanks for sharing these great ideas!!! I've truly been inspired and can hardly wait to start assembling my own binders!
    Abundant blessings to you!

    Oh my gosh... I did this in,the 80's! I could not recall the name of the book but I created the notorious " box". Still functional! It helped me a great deal. Kudos to you. Pretty stuff works for me...free spirits...

    Thanks so much! The menu video is coming, I'm still working on getting all my menus planned and filed.
    3 is such a great age, you could let him put the socks together on laundry day, get him helping while he is young :)

    Pretty cool... I kind of used my day planner for everything when my 6 kids were growing up, so I not only had my daily chores listed, I also had their schedules for football, volleyball and all the other things we did every week and all were at close hand. But then I also had a small planner (color coded for each kid) that traveled with me everywhere I went for the kids schedule. Everyone used to say how wonderfully organized I was, little did they know I couldn't do it without my handy planner. Now I have a simple homemade family binder in my kitchen just like you... :)
    TFS!

    I just wanted to share and congratulate you!!! I had gone to a Christian college to find and found my husband. He also is a Christian. But I was a first generation Christian and he is a fourth generation. My children are the fifth generation. I had some growing to do. The S.H.E card system helped me so much and yes I also did my home education with it. But after my children grew up I am also struggling to get back on a routine and I still have my cards. I am struggling with planner peace as yet, but my cards gave a scripted note and a decision made time. Something that a written planner doesn’t give. I am really struggling with a written planner. Isn’t that so dumb??? Maybe there are too many decisions to be made. So it’s back to the drawing board...maybe it’s a blockage and I just can’t see it. Thank you for your video...it helped me to remember...

    Great layout. You've modified something to work for you. Keep in mind that while there are multiple time slots for the Daily page, rather than think in individual times, think in blocks of time. ie.. you work on searching for etsy posts better in the morning than afternoon - block out how much ever time ex: an hour and set that aside. Routine is important. I'm an empty nester and run a entertainment promotion company and am marketing director for a publisher plus sell Stampin Up! so yeah - routine is important if I'm to accomplish what I need every day and my house not look like a tornado hit it :-) continue to find what works for you and fine-tune as you go. Creative Blessings!

      I have to be honest with you, right now I am not following my cards :( I was testing out bullet journaling and I am failing miserably. I am going to re-read part of the book to see how I can adapt the cards to a calendar method as well as homekeeping. Keep watching and I will film an update on the 3X5 system. Meanwhile here is a link to my Homekeeping 101 series, maybe this will help! th-cam.com/video/T88QUIE39IU/w-d-xo.html

    I like your binder method. I would love to find the sheet that you used. The ones that say the day(8 1/2 x 11) and says notes on the right side. Please tell me where to find them.

    I so like this better than a binder...... lol so excited! But I do like the laminated sheets in your binder... I think I want to do some in a pretty box from Michaels or Hobby Lobby - with pretty scrapbook paper that I have... and... maybe laminate some of the cards... I have fibro and the focus and concentration at times... is just awful. I think the cards will really help.. quick sentences... thank you for your share! I subscribed.. I am going to mesh a little of both.. :)

      I really like the cards as well. It takes some time to put together but it is such an easy system to follow. My kids liked having the cards because they knew when they finished all their cards their chores were done.

    Hi! I'm a new subbie and I am looking for a picture of your updated box? I watched all the she vlogs, but I didn't see a final go through example?! I am starting homeschool with my two girls in 2 weeks. We are doing first grade and pk. I have the sonlight curriculum. Any tips for first year?

    • @findingkellyann
      @findingkellyann  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know if I ever showed an updated box :( We started with Sonlight and I really liked it but it wasn't enough structure for us. We decided on Calvert and then Bob Jones. My best advice is to follow your family vibe for the day, somedays my kids would be all gung ho about school & getting things done & then other days not so much. On our off days we would ride our bikes to the park & work outside etc. Don't be a slave to your schedule, remember this is a marathon not a sprint, they will learn everything they need over time.

    My husband WANTED me to actually BE his mother... but also his wife?!,! WTF? He treated me like I was 5 years old, yet expected me to be sexual with him and be his mother in the "off-time"... . We are finally divorcing after nearly 30 years of me putting up with his insanity and garbage and him ignoring ALL of my MOST BASIC needs (like being acknowlwdged that I exist), our childrens needs and being absolutely selfish in his own traveling and mistressing for 5 days-a -week- self-centeredness, too... You HAVE to do this. STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF SOMEHOW. DONT DROP YOURSELF FOR HIM, LIKE I DID!!! "F" your controlling husband, literally, bc it might keep him interested enough till you can scrape up enough cash for a divorce lawyer... to protect yourself!!!

    • @findingkellyann
      @findingkellyann  9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      WOW, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I don't know how you got the idea that my husband is controlling because that is so NOT him! My husband treats me like a queen.

    Interesting how society has no problem with shacking up, out of wedlock births, promiscuity and teenagers having multiple sex partners....but all hell breaks loose if a 18 gets married. SMH.

  • @maxwellbernstein9235
    @maxwellbernstein9235 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    After re-watching bc I was posting as I listened, as an abused, homeschooling, wife of 17 years, I can tell by your voice, and from my own experience... @ 8:15 & @ 9:22... You are so very afraid of him... It brings back terrifying memories for me and brings me great concern for you...
    I hope things are better for you now. If not, please get out while you still can. Do it while he is NOT at home. Never tell him where you are. Seek help if you can with an order of protection. Email me if you need to, but I am hidden also and cant always respond immediately. May God Bless You!!! Reach out to your local domestic violence shelter, not your church, they don't understand! Get free from this abuse! You deserve to be happy and safe!

    • @findingkellyann
      @findingkellyann  9 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      I'm sorry but you couldn't be more wrong! I normally would not respond to a comment like this but I do not like my husband being accused of something he doesn't do! I know I can't change your experience but it is NOT my experience. If you have watched any of the vlogs I have done with my husband you would see how devoted we are to each other.

    • @Mouserjan0222
      @Mouserjan0222 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      seriously? She's talking about house cleaning and all you come away with is abuse? I got married in 1987 going on 30 years and I have the same book with card file system. Since when is keeping house abusive?

    • @christianone6611
      @christianone6611 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am guessing you thought this because she sounds tired, emotionally drained, and somewhat exaughsted in the video. Often abusive partners cause the stress/drain, and so I'm guessing you connected the two. Raising kids can cause the same drain really and any number of other life stressors.
